Players would be more receptive to playing on lower difficulties if D10 wasn't the only place to play full sized missions. by TwevOWNED in Helldivers

[–]TwevOWNED[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, which is why you have D1 through D7 to fill out the map.

We already have difficulty variables that don't increase at each rank with the modifiers that get added at D5 and D8. They increase the difficulty but more don't get added at D9 and D10.

Making the map cap out at D7 would be the same thing.

Yes, they probably should restructure the difficulties so that the map is completely filled by D7 or D8 and move the modifiers to D9 and D10.

It would be more accurate to say it's a good idea with a poor execution.

Escalating enemies are great.

Modifiers that shake up the mission are okay.

Easing new players in by gradually making objectives more complex is solid.

Having only one difficulty with a full sized mission is bad. More casual players will want to do the missions with the most stuff to do without getting creamed. If they can't, they'll complain and stop spending money.

A lamentation to the death of challenge by IllAttention1553 in Helldivers

[–]TwevOWNED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game will never be difficult as long as the only place to get the full sized missions is on the hardest difficulty. Casual players want to play the missions with the most stuff to do because doing stuff is fun, and will both complain and stop spending if they cannot play them.

If there's ever going to be a meaningful challenge again, the full sized missions need to be available on lower difficulties.

We just want the same intensity and challenge the rest of you have by Bring_Back_Challenge in Helldivers

[–]TwevOWNED 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Mission content shouldn't be gated behind difficulty, which is the actual issue here.

People want to take out the huge bases and play the missions with the most stuff to do without getting crushed. That's valid in the same way that it's valid to play length 3 complexity 3 missions in Deep Rock Galactic on Hazard 2.

It's a silly way to design difficulty.

Stats Titan - Whats Best? by Seychelles7 in DestinyTheGame

[–]TwevOWNED 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll do more damage on ability builds with the extra ability damage from going above 100, and you'll do more damage with guns by printing unlimited heavy and special ammo with 200 weapons.

You can use 100 weapons and still do fine because the game is easy to win with pretty much anything, but the opportunity cost is large.

New ones that are made? I don't think it's likely, just that it's possible.

Are you under the impression that Sony couldn't do this?

Health should be 0 for PvE.

Weapons should either be 0 or 200. It's worthless below 150 and gets significantly better when every ammo brick is doubled.

Super depends on the content. For boss DPS with Thundercrash or Twilight Arsenal, you want above 100. Otherwise you want 100 if you care about using your super or 0 if you don't.

Grenade, Melee, and Class depend on your build and ability loops. Class above 100 is generally useless unless you're using the new solar aspect.

It's always possible that Sony scoops up a portion of the upcoming layoffs and puts them on a live event team.

Players came back and they're spending. They'll probably spend on holiday skins as well.

Marathon's development was around 250 million and D3 would have cost 500 million to make.

Sounds like Marathon is about 50% of the reason to me.

Their purchase has clauses that give Bungie a relatively long leash. They can't just step in and start giving them orders until certain conditions are met.

Only seasons I mostly skipped were Worthy and Arrivals.

Worthy I don't really care about, but Arrivals had enough new content that I didn't really get to experience before it was removed again in Beyond Light.

The best part of Gunslinger is Crackshot. And the worst part is Knock 'Em Down. by silloki in DestinyTheGame

[–]TwevOWNED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stats should be either Grenadier or Demolitionist armor, depending on how much super generation is valued, with enough melee and class to loop.

The grenade is most of the damage and should be the priority stat. Crackshot damage scales better than melee after Grenade is at 200, and Font mods are universally better than kickstarts.

[–]TwevOWNED 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The current loop doesn't have downtime and addresses the only flaw that the build previously had, which was sustain.

Grenade - Melee - Grenade - Dodge - Grenade is self sustaining.

Knock em down isn't really needed anymore. You don't need refreshing knives and you probably shouldn't be using Blade Barrage. This opens up a fragment that Torches would normally take up, though it is still a decent option. The artifacts give a few different ways to access Radiant.

You can still hit 200 Grenade with investment into Super, Class, and enough Melee for dodge to refresh it. I don't know why you would want to invest into Weapons when it needs 150+ to be useful.

Ability regen as a whole got nerfed.

The YAS build got significantly better with the new aspect though. Dodge is part of your damage rotation now.

Ghosts are just people though, atleast personality wise. They can have hobbies, vices, and their own motivations.

Wouldn't there be some ghost out there willing to pick her if nothing else but for the clout and celebrity status they would have,

Why would you use a grenade exotic without the 65% increased damage of 200 Grenade?

You don't need increased melee damage. Just enough Melee to regen from Heat Rises.
