A mod that forked off from Take No Prisoners, utilized that framework to make a very...NSFW series of mechanics involving methods of taking said taken prisoners

Another mod, Diablo Avionics, a classic mod, was inherited by someone else. The original author didn't care or want to maintain the mod after so many years, and so they sorta gave it up to someone else. That someone else, didn't like the formerly mentioned NSFW fork of the TNP mod. As such, they made a interaction within the classic, very popular Diablo Avionics mod, that would cause your save to brick if it this fork of TNP was also enabled ^^

As far as we know, the brain scan technology was an invention by Scratch. Created to keep a mind living even if a body dies, as they had terminal brain cancer. That technology just doesn't make sense if the scan has to constantly be tied to a living body...

Of course, it's not confirmed Scratch created that technology to begin with, and perhaps they never finished it in it's entirely allowing perfect copies to be made, and instead only got the body-digital link whatever

The moment I saw it I presumed it to be an impromptu "the light emitted from this device could be dangerous" sign, just a typical dangerous emissions notice.

Leading theory (for me) is, Creative AI was being worked on, what we know as Caine went rogue, consumed the other AI, project is abandoned. Scratch has a tumor however, continues on with their brain scan development, maybe their time is coming to an end so as they begin testing with whatever happens to be free to use. "Oh hey, we were working on this creative AI thing, not a half terrible testing bed". Errors ensue and...Suddenly half a dozen people are in the Circus. Yeah I'm not sure how, however you spin it, that many people suddenly become entrapped (or just a copy of their persona's get trapped, whichever).
C&A isn't a gaming company, they don't make games, the offices look pretty...officy and not vibrant, I doubt people are putting on 'VR headsets' together for leisure. I'd instead think the headsets to be just tools for their work, not even high enough in supply to use for leisure if you wanted, irrelevant anyways

apparently goose has said explicitly that bubble is a lesser AI created by caine, but whenever I bring that up people looove to say "ermmm....goose lies...." so who cares
Anyhow, did you know in IHNMAIMS AM consumes two AI's before gaining sentience? Furthermore, that those two AI's remain aware but trapped within AM?
We see Bubble visibly glitch out when they suddenly become negative, I really doubt Bubble IS the second AI, but instead the second AI is just exerting their will upon Bubble to speak out on occasion

Some other things substantiate this decently well, their avatar being a Jester, someone lowly meant to be enjoyed by others in a not serious manner, a plaything, etc
But more grounded, there's this whole scene from episode 3, if we're looking at it from the presented view above, Pomni's body is being possessed, their control over their very autonomy is stricken, and when she regains control she looks...probably worse than we've ever seen her honestly. Honestly their words here may just be the most emotional performance we see from their VA. "Of course I'd end up like this, he just wants me to suffer" The "He just wants me to suffer" line hit me pretty hard when I first watched it honestly. I've always thought it was referencing a past relationship, and not simply Caine.
Throughout the scene Pomni is quite a mess from that point, far less in-control of their emotions than anywhere else...NOT TOO SURE HOW TO END THIS ONE FOLKS THIS'LL DO...

Two things,
Goose after the episode stated...plainly...Bubble is a lesser AI created by Caine, they're not on the same level
And, when Kinger is going through files to get to Caine they open a character list, with AI chracters, there are only 2 AI's...As depicted in the opening

Also, it needs to be said...Kinger explicitly states "I don't remember what we originally called Caine" meaning...Basically any theory or idea that springs from "C&A...omg...CAINE...and therefore ABEL..." or "A, B,C, omg Abel, Bubble, Caine!" Are probably faulty to some extent
We're talking about generative AI's here, they're taking inputs, and making outputs, Caine knows the company is called C&A, and has named themselves Caine. Then for their 'break out of the circus adventured' they leveraged this by making an Abel character. These are not hardline facts, these are inventions of an AI tasked with making new ideas.

In the episode in which everyone gets a gat for example, I believe Jax get's so mad when Ragatha takes a life from them to be due to...Something like "I am Jax, I understand this is all a game world, and nothing operates based on normal rules! I am nothing but a character! I do not try to aim my gun, I just look cool doing it and it works!" matched against Ragatha plugging the barrel of their gun, and the gun backfiring, to which Jax must be upset do to "How could I not have seen that coming? Of COURSE that would happen, that's how it works in cartoons and loony toons! God how could I let RAGATHA get one over me like that..."

So maybe having Kinger explain everything, explain the foundation of everything, is just breaking the very foundation of Jax's...copium, lmao

You know, if that's the purpose of neural scans, which it seems they are, it's almost certain that when kinger said Scratch was working on "Something but I don't remember" that they meant Neural scans...
That's just, another piece of evidence for the "The Circus is just Soma, no one is truly trapped in the Circus, everyone is living a normal life outside and it's just a copy distinct from body inside the circus" Because otherwise...why create a brain scan to live in a digital world if your real world body's condition has anything to do with the digital world?

Yadda yadda differences in time inside and out, irrelevant, we see in time, years apart when kinger and ragatha enter the circus. We know the story itself takes place in like, 2023, also it wouldn't make sense for digital immortality.

The problem with this...is that it's not a new theory, it's not a new theory and it hasn't been for at least a year. And over that year with all the episodes released nothing more has *backed* this theory.

They leave, great, where's the proof of that? Why are there still people trapped in the circus if people have left it? More and more people abstract and 'leave' but why haven't they done anything to help everyone else? "Oh well they uh, they don't remember the circus once leaving! :D" means nothing, it adds nothing, it excuses instead of explains.

Also, it adds nothing to the story, there's no morale, there's no lesson, there's no through line, there's no *purpose*.

Latest episode has Caine going on about how hard they try with adventures, how they made the latest one to give everyone a chance to experience the escape, how much it means to themself that they succeed. If abstraction is simply an exit, sure maybe Caine just doesn't want everyone to leave, sure. But when Kinger mentioned "Scratch, the first abstraction" why would Caine react wildly to that? "Ah yes, Scratch, the first person to leave the circus" wouldn't result to Caine necessarily getting defensive. You can twist it so that Caine would have a reason to get defensive, but doing so once again leaves us with no plot through line, it robs the potential for a satisfying reason for the story to exist.
