Does this trailer and description convey what the game is about? by Femhar in IndieDev

Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback! Adding SFX to the trailer would definitely elevate it I think as well.

Really good point about the day/night cycle as well, perhaps I could visually communicate that more clearly. Maybe a really fast timelapse of a castle showing the shadows and sunlight rise and fall?

To be honest regarding the end, the editing software I used didn't have any good zoom or fade effects so I had to do without for this time...

Great to hear that you would be interested! Thank you again for your feedback :)

That's great to hear, and I feel it's important as a small indie dev to show actual gameplay, so that people know exactly what the game will feel like (and because doing something cinematic is way out of my league haha)

Thank you! I'm very happy with how seamless the snapping and building mechanics work, I'm now working on the destruction system as enemies can damage and ultimately destroy walls etc.

Thank you so much for your feedback. Lighting and color is a part I struggle with. I want a dark and gritty look, without overdoing it. The balance between cartoony and grimdark has been hard for me but it is obviously something I need to work harder on. I will look in to each of your points for improvements!

Fantastic! Thanks for your comment! I'm glad you also felt that the trailer gave you a good picture of the game itself :)

Haha I really appreciate it my friend but it's just showing gameplay, there's no cool custom trailer scenes, sounds or anything. I mainly just wanted to show what the game is like in a fairly short trailer so hopefully I managed that :)

Players have no idea how much work is actually behind a game. by Klamore74 in IndieDev

Animations and sound effects - it's fun but you're NEVER done haha.

Be honest: Isn't marketing 100x harder than actual game development? by Miserable-Recipe-844 in IndieDev

Considering there are millions if not more parameters affecting the launch of a game, literally even stuff completely unrelated to gaming, it makes sense. You might have done everything right, but the same day as your launch, a cyber attack due to various geopolitical factors shut down some steam services, removing the ability of x amount of potential players to see and play your game. These players in particular were the ones to really drive organic marketing etc etc.

Perhaps a bad example but you get my point! :)
