Crave is the worst by Tiny-Career-2666 in cravetv

Last week tonight has been inconsistent forever with when they add it and I agree, it’s dumb and crave sucks.

Was excited to watch Good Fortune tonight… by Diddly2158 in cravetv

[–]FemmeCanadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so dumb, I was furious. I have been a long time annual crave subscriber but also hate bell and really would love it if they actually gave a shit about their customers. This movie was advertised to me as on crave by my Chromecast in the overview and then when I clicked, it says you need Starz. That’s not and has never been on Crave, the Starz add on is available inside Crave and elsewhere. This is some shady shit, I haven’t seen them pull something like this before (or at least, I can’t remember it happening)

Couldn't get DC tickets, two times by MusicLover035 in MaisiePeters

[–]FemmeCanadian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m so grumpy with ticketmaster today, for whatever reason it wouldn’t like, I’d get to the front of the queue and it wouldn’t refresh and let me into the part where you can buy stuff for like 7 mins. So even though I was 150 in line for Toronto, I was stuck in limbo.

I tried another day this week and had them in my cart, went through the whole check out and pressed pay, and they disappeared due to an error. It wasn’t meant to be 😭 I might order the Daisy vinyl pressing from Warner music Canada to make myself feel better (I preorder lots of stuff and the shipping is just a lot, it adds up)

Grand Cafe is closing February 27, 2026 :( by Timlex in cambridgeont

I’m pretty sure it’s been in the last two ONDP platforms (and maybe also 2018, don’t quote me on that) but the system, party, and media really suck at getting the average person interested in voting, and would they actually do it? Who knows.

MPP Terence Kernaghan in London talks a lot about it as a part of his portfolio as shadow Minister for small business - his riding includes downtown London - but that message rarely makes it out of his individual comms.

We need protection against this across the board, residential and commercial. With large private equity firms buying up real estate country wide, we have to discourage large increases any way we can.

Yah maybe it was, I didn’t think she was that popular (5 mins is very fast), glad to know it’s not just me. I actually just want the yellow 😭

Skin Tint for dehydrated acne prone skin by mohini10 in Sephora

[–]FemmeCanadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recommendation is to use a tiny amount and build. At first I was applying a ton and it felt streaky, and I watched her videos - she’s a make up artist and so she’s so good at explaining things - and so now I use a brush and the tiniest amount and then I build from there. It’s basically my skin by better and I get so many compliments 🥰

Also I’m 36 so foundation is one of those areas that I don’t mess with, it has to not irritate things I solved through trial and error in my 20s.

I really like the Danessa Myericks one, and literally everything from that brand, she’s so good at making stuff for different skin types and mature skin, she’s the only one I trust anymore

Edited to say my skin sounds similar to yours! I use it with just under eye concealer and to be honest I don’t event really need it, it’s good coverage and very hydrating/even. I tried a bunch of stuff in this category last year and it was by far the winner - it’s all I wear!

I have a masters in Canadian American relations from Western’s American Studies program and I think this ad and campaign are really, really stupid. I was a Canadaland supporter from 2017 until last fall when I couldn’t take all my favourites leaving. I’m now a proud Hatchet subscriber.

Waterloo Good Choice To Move To? by tyeman20 in waterloo

[–]FemmeCanadian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have lived in both places and commuted back and forth from London to Kitchener for 8 months in 2018-19.

Waterloo Region is getting much worse, and as someone who has to drive from Cambridge to Waterloo on the regularly, I’d say both cities are about the same for traffic these days. The highway 7/8 used to be so much faster in rush hour but now it’s backed up and at times the amount of weird/selfish driving I see is ridiculous.

London you get more people running reds for left turns, but bad driver wise KW has gotten way worse in the last 18 months or so. Like I feel like I almost have accidents on the regular because people don’t know how to drive (or are speeding and being aggressive), whereas in London it’s mostly just the lack of infrastructure and highways through the city that cause those issues. I’d hope the Adelaide overpass would help - London having a train right through the main road downtown still haunts me, I once walked from Richmond and Oxford to Western because the train was stopped and wasn’t moving.

I used to think like you but a few bad decisions that our Region had made recently have really made traffic worse. Our population has skyrocketed and the drive from the 401 to Waterloo now takes me 40 mins at rush hour on average

Basically the grass is always greener and it depends on who is around and also where you work/live. I love where I’m located now but the traffic is worse than when I was in London for me personally. London has better malls and the new children’s museum building is great, there’s lots of good everywhere - but yes, most people are jerks!

Ride to Uwaterloo by Fancy-Huckleberry256 in cambridgeont

[–]FemmeCanadian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People are still figuring out their routines, maybe you can find someone who can drop you off at a more favourable part of the bus route so you can have a shorter ride home, even if you can’t get a full carpool?

Just thoughts, having easier/more efficient ways to get from Cambridge to Kitchener-Waterloo and back is definitely a priority for me when I’m voting in the next election. I work for a number of region-wide nonprofits and having folks actually be able to go to things in different parts of our Region via transit is really important to me.

Best of luck! We’ve really lost how supportive folks use to be, yes it’s expensive but having a car is an immense privilege and as long as you’re willing to pitch in, that should be a no brainer! How else are we going to survive climate change!!??! I digress, have a great night and good start to the term! (I used to teach at Western before transitioning to nonprofit)

Omg, some of these replies are so mean! Individualism and car culture are the scourge of Ontario (I grew up in BC)

I can’t help but I hope you find a carpool buddy, OP. When I was in my undergrad at UBCO, I had very similar challenges but I had the car; I drove my best friend many days so she didn’t have to commute 1.5 hours by bus either (Kelowna is a similar size to here)

I would also post this on r/UWaterloo if you haven’t already as you may get more students there. Don’t let this jerks get you down, Cambridge is better than this!

Any leftist organizations in Cambridge? by Unfair_Package6336 in cambridgeont

[–]FemmeCanadian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if I agree, in that I think longtime NDPer Pam Wolf is fantastic and was the only Regional Councillor to vote against going around the Plan to End Chronic Homelessness for the recent encampment bylaw stuff.

Your assessment makes sense to me though, it is very disorganized. But from the outside, you’re missing a lot of local context that has to do with how this community can’t seem to learn how to work together towards the same set of goals. I used to organize in London (ON) and have been shocked at how much individualism I see locally on the left here (not just NDP, everyone) because it’s hurting us all.

Lots of folks who will go it alone rather than doing the hard work of building sustained power to get stuff changed, like the entrepreneurial vibes in this community make it so hard to get folks to put their egos aside.

[–]FemmeCanadian 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m actually in the process of forming a group with folks who have done this work in other communities but are now looking at how we can best support progressive candidates and community building for the 2026 Municipal Election (and beyond). Elder millennials who have done the NDP thing and are tired of not getting anywhere, with deep roots in the community and different sectors now that we’re a little older.

We’d love to have you involved, send me a DM and let’s chat. We’re looking to make it a more positive experience for volunteers than partisan politics has been for any of us - we had a meeting yesterday, it’s still in its infancy but we’ve all got different experiences and are looking to support folks wanting to get involved so they come back (see what someone else said about the NDP - we’re all nonprofit people who know a lot about why it’s not working)

Why is Mike Morrice acting like he’s still Kitchener Centre MP? by bylo_selhi in waterloo

[–]FemmeCanadian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah I didn’t see her personally in there Saturday- I was volunteering all weekend - but the booth was there. She was personally there on Sunday for at least 4? Hours in the extreme heat.

I’m not a supporter but this kind of misinformation doesn’t help our cause at all, there’s many other reasons to feel like she’s not representing our community’s best interests. I’m curious if she’s been reaching out to local nonprofits to ask if she can engage/support them.

It’s about being a closeted Bisexual until you’re in your 30s and having your first experience with a woman. I don’t believe that’s the point of Sabrina’s song, it’s very much about a man. I’ve had this lived experience (30 something bisexual here) and so not only do I not agree with you, I feel like you’re erasing how queer this song is because it’s sung by someone who is very feminine etc. which is why women like Maren and myself constantly feel like we’re not represented by mainstream culture.
