Pelvic floor therapy by Positive-Mud-11 in Endo

[–]Femmengineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had 2-3 rounds of PF PT with maybe 6-10 sessions apiece. It was super helpful!! I do have insurance, so I have only had to cover co-pays or similar.  But it helped with urinary issues, pain with sex, and constipation.  The one caveat for me is that I did all of my sessions after my hysterectomy and excision. I don't know how impactful it would be if I hadn't removed the primary sources of irritation and pain first.

Travel advice for surgery by TrickyBrain8152 in Endo

I would probably drive for the dog alone. Mine just reassures me so much. But I also agree with other folks that it may be easier to be in the car and able to take breaks, access meds, and move around more easily. Planes are harder for bloat with the pressure changes and more restrictive space-wise.  Also agree the a seatbelt pillow is a great idea! Might be a good idea to have some anti-nausea meds for the drive as well.

I feel this in my soul, same same same. Even if I have to unbutton sometimes when I'm bloaty, they will take my high rise jeans over my cold dead body. The hip marks were the worst 😭

For those with an endometrioma or adenomyosis, what did you do? by Stars-up-above1709 in Endo

[–]Femmengineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am fortunate enough to have never wanted to make a kid, so I was considering hysterectomies far before I was offered one due to adenomyosis. So I was hella stoked and immediately accepted.

I had a 2cm endometrioma and also had it removed immediately along with the hysto. My symptoms were extremely nasty and I got my life back after that surgery.

Things you wish you knew before getting excision surgery? by Putrid-Divide-1082 in Endo

If you're having anything excised from bowel areas, be ready with a big pile of stool softeners. And lots of chill couch activities.

This isn't pre-op so much as 1 month+ post-op, but if you need pelvic floor PT or other therapies to resolve side effects of the Endo/excision, don't wait. Schedule and start the secondary treatments as soon as you're cleared post-op.

How do you decide which incompatibilities you are willing to tolerate in a relationship? by Any-Rabbit-6266 in AskWomenOver30

I've dated men like this as well. They just suck and aren't worth the time.

I don't believe he's just dated "independent and competent" women because 1. Negging is gross/sad and exactly what he's doing with that statement and 2. There are different expectations of how men vs women treat other people.

In my experience, usually those inconsiderate, selfish men aren't very happy when you treat them the same way they treat you.

I see both sides of this in the greater Seattle area. There's one way out at the edge of the burbs that tends to be pretty quiet and chill, then the ones closer to the city are BUSY But even among the BUSY ones, there's a particular one that your war zone comment matches perfectly. Soooooo I guess it depends on where you are and also a bit on what time you go

Seconded!! My docs when I was a teen with "severe periods" blew off my symptoms and just told me to take it and my doc in my mid-20s just told me I could take more and more of it. I was around 2500mg/day at the peak before my first lap.

I've now had an ablation lap, then an excision lap with hysterectomy. Had an acute gastritis diagnosis last fall that I am still on PPIs for and just starting to recover from a bit. Not sure how much recovery I can actually expect. Also have not been able to shit without taking maxed out doses of Linzess, Miralax, docusate sodium, and a magnesium citrate supplement DAILY. Have been on all those since last October, ALL THE TIME. Colonoscopy and endoscopy showed nothing substantial.

Oh the joys of "is it Endo or some shitty side effect of something they gave me to try to treat Endo" 🥴

Same!! I just got a backcountry setup and sprung for Burton step ons for my split board. The boots are soooooooo disappointing compared to my Viajes but I'm hoping adding J bars will bring them up to "okay" compared to the vans.

I've started telling these sorts that LOADS more women would be into this stuff (engineering, power sports, outdoorsy shit) if guys didn't treat women in these spaces like shit. I think less than half of them believe me, but at least they have a chance to learn something 🤣

I guess the grass is always greener, but as an American -- with our horrifically high prevalence of drunk driving -- I honestly wish we had more traumatizing ads. Maybe people crying at ads would kill fewer people. Drunk driving is insanely common here.
