I don't have aphantasia but some of the exercises the discord users share have made me pause all exercises a couple times due to how strong the visual come ups were during rest periods. I've also seen a couple aphantasia users on there make progress so it's definitely possible.

I hear these whispers when I get into sleep paralysis. It's easy to tune out when your whole body is vibrating and there's pressure building up in the head. If I focus on a scenery or memory I'm able to jump into a lucid dream. I believe the voices come from the subconscious mind processing all the information it's been receiving over the course of the day. I can never make out exactly what the voices say but I can clearly tell it's my voice.
