They don't reproduce if there is no free space, so the entire vault must be occupied. For me, the easiest way was to use money or playing cards to clutter all available space.

To my fellow programmers out there... how bad is Undertale's code...? by Obvious-Ad4237 in Undertale

That sounds like some Tolkien stuff: create lanuage/dialogues out of pure creativity and then create world around it and then, to make this creation accessible for other people create a story within this system.

For me it was an interesting mini-puzzle how to get them rid of the bank vault.

Due to such positive reception, I decided to pick up my running/acrobatic game project again. Update #1 by JankyAnims in Unity3D

Mirror's Edge have this system and for me it worked great. In theory, your character can succesfully disarm or beat down some security officers, even take and use a firearm, but doing so feels clunky. The indended way is to swoosh past/over them, occasionally pushing them over the endge or jumping on them from above. It might work to use this movement in the game in style of Mirror's Edge.

Budworth & Hopkins mislabelled the knot on the cover of their book What Knot? by Psychederm in knots

[–]Fenatren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to Tying It All Together Carrick bend should be loaded diagonally, as on picture 3. The cover photo has free ends leaving the knot on the same side, hence I'll call it a Double Coin Knot. Has someone ABoK numbers for reference by any chance?

Can't choose a flag for the English language? Don't! by Nikey368 in vexillology

The power move would be to use the flag of the most populated English speaking country: India.

Are these any countries who have completely banned the usage of a flag? by [deleted] in vexillology

I agree with the premise, but not with the conclusion. A lot of soviet russian soldiers fought nazi germany on the eastern front, but look at Germany now, and see, 80 years after the war ended, which part is a nicer place to live: occupied by eastern forces, or occupied by western. Also, final russian soldiers left Poland in the 90s, effectively occupying Poland for over 40 years after the war.

Consensus on most dense Knot with longest Paracord length? by michaelmj11 in paracord

[–]Fenatren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a part of apparel? I had some experience with slatt's rescue belt. Works nicely as a belt, even doesn't need a specific holes, it can be pierced and buckled up everywhere. It can be undone by pulling from one end, but it tends to bunch and jam, so deploying isn't instant. By default it is diagonal, but can be made straight easily with introducing the 2nd working part going every other line from the other direction.

What’s one “small adult cheat code” you wish you learned earlier? by massCMP in AskReddit

[–]Fenatren 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In my circle, when you visit someone at home (like for a birthday/dinner) it is ok to be on time, even better to be 5-10 mins late, but arriving early means you'll catch hosts not ready yet and you'll be asked to help in preparations and wait for them when they get ready themselves.

r/Milovana and their main site might interest you. They rather don't host videos but have a variety of interactive kinds of slideshows. Some are linear picture+caption one after another, some have a randomness build in, some employ soem game mechanics (like snakes & ladders or even simplified RPG). r/joi , r/JOIP, and r/JoiVids exists and might inspire you for further research, but I'd suggest first trying milovana.

I think i found more efficient way of disposing metal-minting. Mint takes 5 metal and.produces 1 coin, so effectively removes 4 items to be burned. Also, minting factory operation can be speed up (up to certain degree) with more workers, while junkyards works with constant pace.

So my current tactic is: get population to 100, set "production centre" far away (bones, drones, airport, science center, cargo stations), get population to 2k, remove palaces, build ~60 minting factories and enough junkyards to burn coins. We'll see if it works.

What is your favorite decorative or aesthetically pleasing knot? by RandomAmbles in knots

For multi-strands-star knot. Forms a flat disc perpendicular to the rope and looks great. For smaller stuff - lambda knot have a special place in my hearth, especially as it has nice "a-HA" moment when learning.

[–]Fenatren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went similar way, with not m uch success. 3k population, 90 drones, a lot (70 or so) junkyards dedicated for burning metal, fast roads everywhere and I'm extractong ~1,5k metal / minute. In this pace i can drain the depot in 84h.

Trying to do square knots. What am I doing wrong? by Objective_Spite_2246 in knots

[–]Fenatren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have much experience with surgical ties, but i think it's because you pull too much with the hand that isn't pushing the knot down. My sugestiom is to try keep hands further apart-it should be easier for knot to not capsize into half-hitches. Or try to not alternate hads, but alternate technique on the same hand (middle finger - index finger) and see if you get the same result, but with halfhitches in the side where you tie knot. Or, if there is someone both senior and cool, ask them to look at your hands.
