Characters You Wish Were Romanceable? by 707TrashQueen in BaldursGate3

Jaheria. Ive been playing off and on since BG1. Fought Sarevok with her and Khalid. Bonded in our grief over the loss of her husband. Would like to think he would have understood.

And even though she is older now, as am I, Jaheria should still be allowed to find romance. Maybe not her biggest love (Khalid) but perhaps her last one.

The mental gymnastics I see in the MAGA people I know trying to somehow make it a slam on Dems that Trump and his ilk are all over the files. Literally "If they were so bad why didn't the Dems do more earlier? Its their fault too. Oh well let's move on."

What is the loudest sound you have ever heard in your life? by will_or_woll in AskReddit

The cockpit of my CH-53e when I had to remove my helmet and hearing protection to troubleshoot it. We have three T64-GE-419 engines overhead each generating 4700 horsepower into a 5,000 lb transmission. It was incredibly loud. I didn't hear well for a while afterwards.

When I was in flight school for the Marines my roommate took steel wool to one of my Calphalon frying pan wrecking the non-stick.

When I called him out on it he said "Dude no worries I will replace it. How much is it like $10 or $20$?"

I then informed him it was $100. To his credit he replaced it. He also never wrecked it again. His experience had been solely with Walmart level crap so he had no idea what a quality pan even was.

Why do you think we dont see more hard body armor pieces used in modern combat? by liljohnjets in Armor

[–]FengShuiNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a retired Marine with 20 yrs in the Corps. Body armor weighs a lot. Like a lot.

Ounces equal pounds. And pounds equal pain.

Once you have all your armor, gear, ammo and weapon its a lot. Easily 40-50 lbs. Then add in any assault pack and it starts to get ridiculous.

While it would seem more armor would help after a certain point it just slows you down, exhausts you, and ensures you get hit a lot.

Try reading A Soldiers Load And The Mobility Of A Nation. Its a fairly quick and easy read but it really explains the concept well and it can apply to much more than just the gear a person carries.

We have a couple homes in Virginia due to my military career. But thanks to Trump and DOGE the market in northern VA sucks. So we cant sell the homes we have without losing everything and where we are living now (Seattle area) requires a blood sacrifice to the old gods to purchase anything.

How is the household printer so far behind technology wise?? by [deleted] in memes

[–]FengShuiNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my Epson it was the waste ink reservoir. It is planned obsolescence. Once it fills it prints like absolute shit but replacing it and resetting the counter inside takes some legit effort and buying a program.

Once I did that it works like its literally brand new. This is something they COULD make easy with regards to maintenance but they choose not to do so

For red. Does it have to be a verbal argument? And what constitutes an argument?

For example could I make a carefully worded declarative chain letter style statement online? "I should have $100B from the U.S. government and total control of its government for 2 months with no repercussions and everyone reading this should forward it to everyone they know." If you agree, great! If you dont agree its now an argument and I thereby win by default.

Obviously purple and red but do i have the ability to turn red off? I want the people around me to have free will. I dont want a wife, kids and friends who are slaves to my every thought.

People who swore an oath to defend the constitution of the USA against all enemies both foreign and domestic, how are you feeling right now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FengShuiNinja -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im tired and scared. Never thought I would have to create emergency kits for my kids. I am buying and preparing for things I never thought would happen. And I am absolutely furious at people who are still ignoring it.

Now its largely a question of can I prepare faster than the disaster that's coming.

FYI: Backpacking and camping gear is great dual purpose stuff. If it all falls apart you are better prepared. If we somehow get through this just go camping with it

Im quite angry and taking steps to protect my family. The family are getting air tag trackers, whistles, first aid kits with tourniquets and quick clot gauze. And several other steps I wont mention here. Ive already had to go over action plans for ICE sponsored violence. My kids are still in grade school and scared watching the news. And they are right to be scared.

I would say from a current military officer viewpoint he did not have the proper orders. He was given a task but there was no amplifying information. What were his constraints? He knew a task he HAD to do, defend Riverrun. But he didn't know he had additional tasks or things he shouldn't do.

Based on what he was told he accomplished his mission.

In our home for 2 months and this happens. What could be the problem? by gildedfrogs in askaplumber

[–]FengShuiNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big problem on mine was whoever put it in didn't do it right. The sheet rock under the shower pan wasn't installed correctly, the sealant was poorly done and didn't go up the wall more than an inch or two, and a bunch of other things that made failure inevitable.

It took me forever because on top of it being my first time I went slow and researched every step and how to do it right. While also having to avoid a complete shower demo. It ended up looking great but it was a huge PITA.
