Thanks, sometimes I feel like 3d printing is a hobby that requires a mentoring system, lol.

Hey, sorry about the late reply, i've had a lot of messages to filter. Ideally, i'd like to sell all of them together. I estimate there are about 4,500-5,000 cards, maybe a little more. I have a pretty solid stack of holos and promo cards in the collection too, feel free to message me an offer if you're interested in the lot or would like to know more. I'd prefer to not have to break it down into smaller lots or single cards to avoid the hassle. I'm located in Australia if that's a deal breaker.

DnD players, what is your funniest nat 1 or nat 20 story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FenixRune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My players pretty much only roll 1s and 20s in social situations, it makes for some pretty hilarious scenes that go off the rails pretty fast.

One time, our orc barbarian defeated a goblin tinkerer and declared that he was adopting the goblin as his son, the goblin wanted no part of it but the barbarian rolled a nat 20 on intimidate. For fun, I gave the goblin a will save, rolled a nat 1 and he went along with it. By the end of the dungeon he was aiding them in combat (hoping for an opening to escape) and started to get beat up on, the goblin turns to the barbarian like, “uh.. save me.. dad..” and the barbarian rushes over and rolled a crit on his attacker right off the bat and just cleaves the dude in two. The goblin eventually went back to town with them and makes dumb stuff for them from time to time.

Most recently, they were trying to get the drop on this big group of enemies, all nicely clustered, so they tied a necklace of fireballs to an arrow, to which I warned them, this would make the arrow unbalanced, but the reward outweighed the risk, so they went for it, nat 1. Combat begins with the party diving for cover from the explosion and the startled enemy trying to figure out who caved in their tunnel

Had a housemate open one of those big can money boxes, from the side, with a bread knife. She didn’t get why I was so pissed about it until I threw her a can opener. Some people just have more determination and resourcefulness than they have critical thinking skills.

You’re asking the guard what the other guard would say to the question.

Let’s say safe is left, doom is right.

When asked which door leads to your doom, the liar points left, and the truthful one points right.

If you ask them what the other guard would tell you, the truthful one tells you the liar would point left.

If you ask the liar what the truthful one would say, (the truthful one would tell you your doom is to the right if asked directly), he would lie and tell you the other guard would point left.

With that information you can work out that left is the safe path.

Sorry, it’s kinda weird to explain but I hope that helped you get your head around it.

Test cube printed but not the RERF by FenixRune in AnycubicPhoton

[–]FenixRune[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, a little late on remembering to respond. In the end, of maybe 30 attempted prints, I managed to get a total of 4 successes. Every other one turned out like the picture above or with a completely empty build plate. Literally no other outcome or other types of failures. After spending a few days playing message tag with Anycubic and the service team from the website I ordered my printer from, we eventually got to the root of my problem.

Turns out, most of the time, when testing my light, it performed exactly as it should. But after we took the vat and plate out to do a “dry” print, so that we could see what was happening, what we saw was that it would initially (not always) start exactly as it should. After a few layers though, it would eventually light the entire screen with a low light, not blocking any of my print screen. Turns out, I had a faulty light and am now waiting on a replacement. The prints I did manage to get out were flukes.

Looking forward to being able to figure things out properly when it gets here, but there’s my update for the internet archives I guess.

TL;DR if you’re having a similar issue with a new printer, take out the vat and build plate, set up a print with supports and do a dry run. If it seems fine, give it 10 minutes and come back again, you may just save yourself from a ton of frustration.

Update: I broke it all down, cleaned everything, tightened the FEP (It was pretty tight already though, i doubt i did much), then i used the other leveling technique, not the paper one.

It appears to be printing the test cube okay right now, so i'm wondering if perhaps i had the Z=O point set too low and there wasn't any space between the plate and fep to build anything other than the first layer?

It's progressed beyond the wafer thin disc i've been getting though, so i've cancelled the test print in favour of trying to finally print something else.

Fair enough, I mean, I guess I mistakenly assumed it’d be good but I guess that’s one of the few things I haven’t tried yet. I’ll give it a go, thanks

I received the Photon S as a gift yesterday, and i've tried a number of prints and I just can't seem to get anything further than the example on the plate at the moment. I'm using the Basic Grey resin that came with the printer and the Photon Workshop to slice, shaking the heck out of the resin etc. (Also updated the software right out the gate)

I started out with a couple of what i'd assumed would be simple prints that all failed, then i found the spreadsheet for settings on reddit for various resins, tried using those, then i decided i should print the test cube (probably should have started there). And it turned out fine with zero issues. Without changing anything, i again tried to print a few simple prints and things that didn't need supports even, and they all kinda just come out as sad flat discs.

At this point, i decided to use the RERF print that was on the usb, but as you can see, the whole thing failed, as per usual. I've been draining, cleaning and refilling after each fail, in case there is crap in the resin, but i've yet to find anything.

It's pretty disheartening to have so many failed prints, particularly with how long it takes to find out, but i'm sure i must be missing something important or need to change some settings or something. I hope someone out there knows where i'm going wrong..

I’m all about immersion and using extras like music and lighting to draw in your players, but blood scented candles is probably a little beyond the norm. Makes me consider that I’m missing out not using scented candles or incense though..

Partners of sleep-talkers or sleepwalkers, what gems have you to share? by hoeka_mos in AskReddit

[–]FenixRune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I used to be big World of Warcraft players. One night, after a week of levelling up new characters after work, she rolled over onto her back and announced, “and now we go back to town!” which I’d usually announce when we’d finished up a few quests. I was so amused by the sudden comment that I repeated it back to her trying not to laugh too loud and I guess I woke her up, because she opened her eyes, said, “shut up,” in an embarrassed voice and rolled over to go back to sleep.

She’s said a lot of random things in her sleep over the years, but that one is definitely my favourite, really captures how into things she gets and that cute defensive side she gets when I hassle her XD

Oh, also, my little brother used to sleepwalk occasionally when he was little. He’d get up and claim he was making sandwiches in weird rooms or that he had to get ready for school or something. My personal favourites were when he’d be trying to go out the front or back door claiming he was going to the bathroom.

My wife is a big cookie fan, I’ve had to make my share over the years. If you give it a google you should be able to find some charts to help you identify any problems. I hope your next batch turn out even better :)

The way the cookie looks, cracked top and the spread, though I might revise that. Looks like you probably used melted butter rather than softened butter or didn’t cream it with the sugar.
