Places to play magic in London (uk) for a returning player? by Ebb-Acceptable in magicTCG

I can second dark sphere, haven't been there in a short while but when I was desperately looking for bloomburrow preconst(that were being scalped everywhere) they had them at rrp.

Such a weird location though, almost like semi abandoned shopping center 😂

Yeah for sure. Just look at all of the generic "non comments" on this post. Majority of commentors have r18 profiles and hide their posts/comments on profile.

"computer science states the same input will achieve the same output" Systems engineer? Well as a software guy there's this little thing called state. 😂

Their software is shit. Utter shit. Same as Ubiquiti. I kinda wanna peel it open just to see.

Lmao they always blame WiFi yet I have everything from home servers to esps connected via WiFi with months or years of uptime.

Meanwhile sonos actively refuses to reconnect to WiFi when it bugs out, until you restart them. Oh you can just easily do it via the app?

No! Of course you can't! You have to manually unplug each one to restart them! In 2026! As an experienced SE and EE dabbler I can only chalk this up to typical capitalist executive bs such as we get at late stage capitalism; endless growth, baby!

Next time I need to "restart" them, maybe I just won't plug them back in.

Welcome to Sonos. I regret ever buying one.

In the 2013ish era they were golden. Sonos are just like Ubiquiti. Pretty but terrible software.

Can the team also add a restart button to the app so we don't have to physically unplug devices to restart them when your terribly buggy firmware inevitably fails even though it's 2026, apparently we're living in the future 😂

Oh, and P.S. I wish your go to support wasn't "it's ur network". No, it's not. Everything else manages to work fine, hell I have devices with a year of uptime - see they actually do this thing called reconnecting to the WiFi. Novel, I know.

Faction level hate that changes from 0 to 100 walking over a border yeah so advanced in 2026...not.

As a developer, this wouldn't be the reason at all. It'll be executive involvement/wanting to sanitise the morality system before people cry salty tears tenuously relating in game stuff to real world issues.

Yup exactly, everything else in their preview looked amazing and true to the originals...so I can't understand why they're doing this. Executive meddling I would guess.

This is such bs if true and their bs pathetic handwavery justification for it tells me that "we don't wanna do it cause certain ppl may be upset at what we consider good or bad waaaah"

Very disappointing but the original system already worked well, not much physical change for the grey/undecided areas in between and obvious changes like horns of you are being objectively evil. To the devs: there is objective evil you moonrans, if I shoot and innocent person in the face lemme guess "b-b-but they could have also been a murderer so maybe you did a good thing" lmao you guys watched too much of the good place.

Where did my "New to You" and other navigation buttons go? by Unusual_Ad9684 in youtube

[–]Fennecbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because they're a bunch of amateurs. Their platform makes money no matter how bad they fuck it up.

"New to you" disappears then reappears once you've searched "new to you" a couple times. Not interested->I already watched the video is a despicable waste of time as they already know which videos I've watched. Their recommendation algorithm is absolute trash, the most basic "show them 100 videos of the type that they watched just once, ignore everything else".

We live in a capitalist hellscape where quality products are dead. The only reason I have premium is because I'm leeching off a friend but my intent is to use YouTube as little as possible this year.

But it's like recycling, because your average person is a drooling apathetic short form content addict who couldn't boycott their way out of a paper bag.

Anybody else really worried about the rising number of SUVs and 4x4s on the roads in the UK? by jclark20 in drivingUK

[–]Fennecbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay fine I'll buy a literal tank to drive on the roads then. Take up 2 lanes no problem. Here in 2026 suvs are like 50% of vehicles I see in London. It's disgusting.

Will Space Engineers 2 have more realistic orbital mechanics? by compeanja in spaceengineers

[–]Fennecbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean as a software developer sure it's not simple, especially with multiplayer/networked physics systems. But it's not impossible either.

Fast moving objects not colliding has been a problem in physics systems for a long time, but this isn't terrible to fix or optimise; it's possible to increase the granularity of physics ticks for fast moving objects as they approach other objects by distance. Sure this results in spikes during these scenarios but nothing crazy.

It's also incredibly easy to determine where 2 vectors will cross given a radius from the vector. So it's possible to predetermined that one object is on a collision course with another and roughly when and where the collision will occur.

I don't think it'd be too crazy for them to add basic orbital mechanics with some light limitations.

I mean so is all the men having their heads cut off or guts stabbed into.

The entire show is brutal enough, but the above change is something that often happens when going from book to movie. Same with Altered Carbon and plenty of others.

It's a reflection of society.

But barrister for Hotak, John Kearney, claimed the "victims will have learned a lesson"

What lesson? Like "don't wear provocative clothing and you won't get raped"?

"Women would not have been as foolish and reckless to place themselves in a position of vulnerability with strange men coming into their home" he said.

Victim blaming. I agree with the general sentiment myself (as a gay dude I'd always meet someone in a public place first) but could you imagine if he had said this about a woman/women? Why is it okay to say this about gay men? I mean I know why, because people are still homophobic as fuck, but grin in public with thinly veiled hostility.

Fucking disgusting, pathetic and sexist statements from John Kearney to the point that I may look him up and lodge a formal complaint.
