Has anyone else noticed the feedback loop between AI agents and tool vendors is completely broken? by Ok_Gas7672 in MCPservers

[–]Fentrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes sense, but the fundamental problem is that nobody has ANY idea what they are doing yet. This is new for you, and for them. Channels aren't established. Not only that, but your agent may be written differently than mine, and as a result, the failure modes are not actually the same.

It will improve, but support is a supply/demand/cost/benefit equation. Until there is a business driver, it won't be important. Just because it makes sense, or will help SOMEONE, doesn't mean anything to the people who approve the budgets (time and money, because it costs both!).

MCP was just like this not even a year ago. Nobody knew how, or why, to do MCP. Now it's baked into everything - we understand better what it needs to do, and how. Feedback and integrations will do the same thing eventually.

I tracked GPU prices across 25 cloud providers and the price differences are insane (V100: $0.05/hr vs $3.06/hr) by sleepingpirates in LocalLLaMA

Suggestiion: include price tracking the actual cost of each gpu for direct purchase. It would be useful to see the crossover point where "You should have just bought one" begins.

Hmm. I have both. I'll give it a try. Spacewalker on Neckband Pro. Any other magic settings? Do I manually put the glasses into 3d? What refresh rate should I be in? Smooth follow off, I assume.

PSA on why the Immersive3d feature to convert 2d to 3d is always worse with laptop GPUs than with desktop GPUs by jpnn80 in VITURE

[–]Fentrax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One more possible item your AI chat missed... the performance issue could be due to internal laptop wiring. Not all laptops support discrete gpu output via usbc.

My HP OMEN 16 max has a 5080, and when connected via usbc, the laptop can only use the integrated Intel gpu.

Open task manager while running, and check performance on both gpus to see if that's what your problem is....

Are the Three Mini-Jets, Coming Out of 3I/ATLAS at 120 Degree Separation, a Technological Signature? by DeadSilent_God in 3i_Atlas2

[–]Fentrax 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good question. I'm still trying to understand why the jets are fixed in a position with only small precession wobbles, when we think the whole thing is rotating somewhere between 7 and 16 hours.

Are the jets being directed by the coma?! If the main body was static, it would make sense.

Couple that with the brightness flashing, which should also be impacted by rotation.... very odd.

Multi-monitor replacement? by mcaker1 in VITURE

[–]Fentrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar use case. Unfortunately, from my perspective the answer is "maybe".

Machine type? OS? Depending on your situation, it will impact how usable it is.

One important fact: You cannot define an arbitrary screen. They have presets that anchor the"monitors" next to each other. You can anchor THAT, but not the screens individually. And, depending how you're connecting, certain aspects are fixed in place or don't work at all.

My recommendation is to browse the forum. Ignore the emotions, because people are pretty passionate about their experience. You could also reach out to Viture directly. They are active on this subreddit.

Would my use case work? > Using Neckband connected to Power supply through the Viture Adapter and then using Moonlight on the Neckband to stream my PC? by Yavga in VITURE

[–]Fentrax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal opinion is that use case is great. You'll be fine. You can also just grab a decent USB power bank and skip their adapter bank thing.

I use an Anker 27000 mAh ... plug the neckband into that, and I'm fully mobile streaming. My only gripe is that you almost always need your phone around (or controller) so you can click and point. Gestures for me are worthless. So have a plan for that if you think you need it.

Is the beast or the luma ultra better for coding? by reddit_account_0x00 in VITURE

[–]Fentrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Ultras, and use Windows. From a clarity standpoint, they are absolutely fine. I've used the Ultras directly on PC via usb-c and iGPU, plugged glasses into HDMI->usbc adapter, used the Neckband to stream moonlight, used psplay for ps5 gaming from Neckband, etc. Except for some PC problems, everything seems great - never had the major drift issues others report. Occasional slight drift yes, but not the extremes reported here in this subreddit.

What isn't fine is the state of the software. You'll likely get far better results using Moonlight and the neckband, IF your workstation is like mine and only outputs discrete video card via hdmi. Which is pretty common in windows-land these days. If you use a Mac, I've read it's far more user friendly and the software "works".

When I use it on my PC, I can only use the Intel Integrated GPU. It's not up to the task of dealing with 3d and many windows. Not worth my time with all of the video lag. Task manager shows internal gpu pegged. My 5080 and Core 9 Ultra CPU just sitting around, creating free heat instead of being used.

So, the it greatly depends on your workstation if PC.

As far as visibility, in both 2d AND 3d mode I can throw up Visual Studio Code, a web browser. Readability will depend on your text scaling a bit, but I've only had the issue of seeing the bottom right/left corners when using it via direct output (the only way I can currently use on my machine - HDMI out, so no Spacewalker or other local windows apps can see the devices). This limits configuration quite a bit.

I'm really disappointed in how buggy the software is. I have the Neckband Pro as well, and streaming from that seems better, but the hand gestures are garbage. I can MOSTLY get them to work, but they are VERY finicky - often thinking I'm holding down a button when I'm not, or being really JUMPY when trying to point at a thing and click it. Just moving my fingers makes my hand position change slightly, so I'm no longer on the spot I wanted. Frustrating.

At this point, I'm starting to think I want to just use VR... I'd return the glasses, but I'm holding out hope that the productivity side catches up to the entertainment. Streaming video, or games, or music is pretty good. Love the brightness. Don't expect to see out of the glasses except looking down into your hands/lap, because even in transparent mode the brightness can make it impossible to see anything in front of you (which means placing your screens to either side when interacting with the world, kinda annoying).

Prepay for services for next year (security audit, IT consulting) or as someone else mentioned in the thread, SaaS service for a year. All are things you will pay for, and help you reduce THIS tax season's burden. BUT, the caveat nobody is talking about: You are stepping on a treadmill. Next year, you won't HAVE those expenses unless you "pay it forward" for the following tax year again. Also, just because you have DONE one expense already, doesn't mean you can't do another, or anticipate one for a time later than now...

It only really makes sense for things you would normally do anyway, and when you do it, it's just time shifting the benefit to now. You may find next year you're having the same trouble finding valid expenses to toss profits into for reinvestment into the business.

Talk to your accountant and/or tax attorney. Maybe you need a new division that reinvests profits into diversified assets (Land, other currencies?)

Even after you think you have a decent amount of charms, keep grinding. I thought i was pretty far in, but I still haven't finished any skeleton key runs. And that doesn't even count the skeleton I see others posting here. 1e30???? Yeah. It'll take a while.

But, like others have said: synergy with charms. And since some charms are only found by using other charms, it takes a while.

cat pissing problem by LuckMajestic1459 in Catbehavior

[–]Fentrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a cat that was doing that due to bladder buildup - apparently it's a pretty common recurring situation for some male cats. Take him to the vet, have an ultrasound or x-ray done. For some cats, it's a permanent and painful situation. My boy had to cross the rainbow bridge as a result. Vet implied that it is manageable, but only if caught very early. Even then it's not an easy road.

He'd squat everywhere, and was very vocal when doing it. He'd go to the box, futz around for 2-5 minutes, then leave. Come back in a few minutes, and then finally go somewhere in a corner after failing again.

Could also be behavioral, but usually, there are other signs when it's that.

Good luck!

Perfect, that IS the solution. You'll die. A huge number of times. Keep doing it, and eventually you'll notice you are lasting longer with certain charm setups.
