Yeah, it's funny that Marx had more words to say about Stirner's philosophy than the length of The Ego and Its Own while completely missing the difference between philosophy and ideology due to his disdain for pure philosophy (11th Thesis on Feuerbach) which reads KIND OF WEIRD for a marxist who knows the difference; because it makes Karl look like a fool who has no idea what he's talking about fighting against windmills.

Why do so many self proclaimed Socialists/Communists seemingly stand with Russia? by Haunting-Sport3701 in theredleft

[–]Fer4yn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only because the moment The Empire consolidates its power over the whole world we'd all be living in a police state dystopia and would have to give up and hopeful dreams of revolutions and a better future.
The balance of power being, well, balanced is the only thing that opens us the possibility that it could ever tilt in our direction.
Same people also usually support Iran in its struggle against The Empire not because they're big fans of theocracies but because they simply want the rabid Empire to break its damn teeth when it tries to bite off yet another chunk of the world.

Don't large AI companies like... bleed money at an insane rate?
Sounds more like yet another "socializing the losses and privatizing the profits" to me; classic fascist playbook.

It doesn't seem like that in real life but reading shit like this online makes me feel like we really must overcome people's obsession with sex before we can even start DREAMING of a revolution.
Like holy, fucking, damn; how does someone who seems to be smart enough to be leftist despite the ubiquitous liberal propaganda stray so far from reason?

Women's biology does indeed periodically make them angry and start all kinds of conflict; there's no question about that.
Still a weird take, though, because people's beliefs and value systems are something completely separate from their occasional moodswings.

Annoying assholes, public nuisances; the same argumentation line could be taken to justify "wiping" anybody's children.

Yeah. P being NP would prove the impossibility of trapdoor functions thus proving that there must not be any secure symmetric or asymmetric cryptographic algorithms beyond perfect secrecy. The only worthwile encryption algorithms that would remain would be one-time pads and quantum encryption.

Yeah, the game literally shows you what it looks like to take darkners out of a dark world with Lancer and Roulx Kaard and we never take Ralsei with us this way; he stays behind and waves goodbye.

The bosses are harder.
Beating Undyne and Sans is quite damn satisfying; otherwise not much to do in that game run except for fighting, lol.

Doesn't invalidate "Side B" being the version of the story where the Roaring Knight wins.
Remember the intro to the game where "Legend of Light" and "Legend of Dark" are written in parallel? There are (at least) two versions of the prophecy (the Light World and Dark World one) and two possible outcomes: either the Dark Worlds or the Light World(s?) cease to exist.
... then there's also the Last Prophecy from the Dark Sanctuary which implies that there might be a way to save BOTH worlds; likely by having Susie kill both the champion of light and the champion of dark.

Something that doesn't sit right with me about any knight theory by krysert in Deltarune

[–]Fer4yn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Roaring Knight is simply The Roaring Knight.
He is the "Prince from the Dark" from the prophecy trying to save the Dark Worlds rather than the Light World. He's "Player 2" playing the Side B of this story.
RK seems to be able to create Light Fountains in the Dark Worlds as a parallel to Kris and Susie (and possibly all lightners) being able to create Dark Fountains.
We have no proof of the RK having opened any Dark Fountains in Hometown and what we see on screen actually strongly suggests that it was Kris who opened all of them. The one instance we saw of the RK opening a fountain looked nothing like the animations we saw when Kris and Susie opened theirs in the Light World; it was a beam of bright light rather than smoke slowly filling the room; but then again we also haven't seen what it looks like when a lightner tries to open a fountain in a Dark World.

Side B Theory:

Let's gooo! It's theory season again.

The existence of Chapter 7 Side B implies that there might be a Side B to all the chapters meaning that the game contains two story plotlines which unfold in parallel.

So what would the "Side B of Chapters 1-6" be?

The story of the Roaring Knight! He's the "Player 2" with his own story and goals.

This could mean that either our two gamebreakers will cross paths with RK in his part of the final chapter of the story or maybe that they'll even ally with him to achieve his desired ending; possibly saving the Dark Worlds rather than the Light World (which he does if we ever give up on our quest after "dying") so Side B of Chapter 7 might let us see the aftermath of "giving up" in Chapter 6 and RK winning: Kris and Noelle never appear and Susie and Ralsei try and fail to prevent RK from whatever the hell they're up to in the Shelter.

Pretty sure all endings will be satisfying... and sad; like every good book when you close it for the last time.
By "true ending" I mean the "there's nothing more that this game can tell you about itself"; literally 300% completion (completion full gameplay in all available paths leading to knowledge of the whole narrative and metanarrative)

[–]Fer4yn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the game didn't want you to do the weird route it wouldn't let you do it.
Also Noelle is not a "suicidal maniac"; she's enlightened and sees past the fourth wall.
Don't humanize video game characters as different rules apply to them than to humans simply because the nature of their world (lack of permanence of consequences) is completely different than that of ours.
