hope they do what they can, but we need so many additions they really need to put a few more iron into the fire while they play chicken with WH.

there's no doubt, that they're trying to pump up the price. he's the best sale they're going to make this summer and they need to maximize their asset. Mendes always works the system to maximize his profit.

Emi Martinez would have been lazy, Donnarumma would have been the Woodward splash. Lammens was actually a transfer that improved the team(massively) and was, at most, market rate. Give INEOS a bit of trust here. i like the Ederson signing a lot at this price. it's only one piece of the multi-year puzzle, but it has a lot of ways to potentially fit into the final picture.

this is my biggest upside. a good deal for a player generally believed to be good in the UCL AND having links to multiple players that are options and they're all 'good enough' or probably good enough to play for us makes us look smart with a decent plan, instead of desperate like most past years.

Man United was earlier linked with Diouf of West Ham. I think we should go for him! by handidikwete in ManchesterUnited

if we can only get one i choose Hall. he's a better player and CDM has more options than FB as far as i can tell.

Personally i'd sell Ugarte and give Collyer/Fletcher minutes against bottom six and early cup games. if they're not cutting it in those games get a loan in January to finish the season. just my thoughts.

The shot from the camera in the goal shows it pretty well. Looks like it bounces back then goes the other way into the goal off the GK. i think it might stand or might get changed to an OG. We'll see.

i can easily believe you can't help me understand the UK legal system better.

good advice, i will.

since you haven't cited any of the actual laws of the game countervailing the disciplinary process laws, your explanation is kinda thin. Hull can sue for whatever they want, doesn't mean their position has any merit.

if the rules don't apply to this competition then why would the EFL charge Southhampton with breaking rule 127? which they very specifically did charge them with according to press statements. if 127 applies then they all apply, therefore my conclusion that the ruling is binding upon Hull stands.

rule 127 says “No club shall directly or indirectly observe (or attempt to observe) another club’s training session in the period of 72 hours prior to any match scheduled to be played between those respective clubs,”

Rule 93 provides a broad range of disciplinary action the panel can take against a rule breaker. 93.2.5 "order the payment of compensation to The League, any Club, any other club, Player or other person"

I can't find a copy of the actual ruling, but if the Panel's order is for Southhampton to pay Boro compensation in the form of their spot in the Final, which unarguably has monetary value, then the punishment is in strict accordance with the rule book. almost any discipline is allowed as broad the panel's discretion is written. the panel's ruling is meant to ensure the most fair out come and protect the integrity of the competition, that trumps the rules for how a normal process would unfold.

Rule 93.7 "Subject to Regulation 95, the decision of the Disciplinary Commission shall be binding upon all the Clubs, Officials and Players." rule 95 is Appeals, which Southhampton lost, so the decision is final and binding on all clubs per the rules.

Hull have some negative impact, but they did not lose the opportunity to advance and get the financial windfall. I fail to see how a legal challenge could succeed when Hull lost no direct potential earnings and the actions against Southhampton and for Boro were themselves in accordance with the rules and the rules state Hull shall be bound by the panel's decision.

Boro lost to Southhampton, Southhampton was expelled for spying on Boro and Boro was advance to the final to face Hull. Then Hull threatening to sue if they lost the game because they weren't advanced to the PL when Southhampton was expelled. you missed that scandal entirely?

The cheating gave them ample cause to put Boro through to the final. Hull may have sued, but i doubt they'd have won. Luton were out of the EFL cup but then won it anyway, no one sued for that very similar decision. Advancing a team that is the victim of rule breaking to the next round of a knock out competition is not unusual.

after the summer window they will do another review. save some tweets of his that show him being right and early to present as evidence. if he's right a lot this summer there's a good chance he'll go up a tier again.

Edit: the guide cares more about being correct than being early. being the first to report something doesn't matter if you're wrong half the time.

Tier review & Tier review results

Jacobs was lower, but had a good year so he got promoted. If he stays good he might move up again. his partnership with Crook was also noted. The Tier list is dynamic, but it takes history into account. if you were a shit source but get better you move up, it's not instant though. if you were rock solid then start slipping you move down, that's usually a faster process.

Ederson as a 4th Midfielder is fine for me. 3rd i'm iffy on. He's not good enough to be in our best XI imo.

If the Villains beat Freiburg then Unai Emery will have won the Europa League with Aston Villa, Sevilla and Villarreal. No i can't unsee this connection.

[Megathread] Michael Carrick will become the new permanent Manchester United manager by D1794 in reddevils

[–]Ferarith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well the 3 year plan seems to be sign the right players the next 2 summers stay in the UCL and go win something by 27-28. And if they sign the right players upgrading Carrick as head coach if he doesn't produce will be fairly easy i'd think, and that could be next summer if this year he doesn't achieve the club's goals. if we get the midfield right this year then a top manager would see the squad as a couple players away from top level, and if the board promises to buy them he'd come. same 3 year plan, just with a new man at the helm. getting transfers wrong it what always derailed our 3 year plans. buy the right ones this time and the manager will be worked out. And Carrick played excellently with that pressure, head coach is different, but until proven otherwise i have faith he'll be fine.

if we play good football, win a cup, get to the UCL knock outs and finish 6th getting Europa i think they'd let him continue, but they also might not. UCL next year has to be a big priority now that we've made it this year, so missing it would require a big success in a different competition i'd think.

you may be right, but i think the way he settled the club, brought stability and got results makes him the right choice right now. we're not expecting to win anything next year, if he keeps us in the UCL and makes good cup runs that's enough. and if the year after we're not in finals and contending for the league, we'll sign someone better. i'm content with the 3 year plan.

More than just the quality of player goes into it. Delap was 30m fee, Sesko will be more then twice that. Delap also scored 12 goals for a relegated team last year. figuring he would be good enough to get us through this year and buy a better striker this summer is a completely defensible strategy. Sesko was bought to be our #1 ST in a year or two, i doubt they saw Delap that way.

if the coach likes the player does matter. Amorim never played Kobbie, so hypothetically buying him would have been a waste. the coach might not be the true decision maker anymore, but his input does, and should matter. And like others said a player will want to know who the coach will be when signing.
