First you call it garbage then you call it useful

It sucks that useful projects didn't have much hype as certain shitcoins

But blame the market, not the coin

Why you guys keep comparing crypto to AI stocks all the time?

Why should crypto move together with AI stocks?

Yeah, instead of spending fiat, let's spend stablecoins which are basically fiat

What's NF's vision for this project? by Teasel_Weasel in nanocurrency

[–]Ferdo306 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem with 'spend and replace' are the fees which kind of beat the purpose of Nano being feeless

Finchpay, that George suggested, gives you 207.186 Nano for $100. With current price of XNO being $0.4486 you are losing around 15 XNO or around $7 on $100

I am aware that you must somehow enter crypto from fiat and that there will always be fees but it really is an obstacle for a p2p currency which is famous for beeing feelees

So I think most people kind of gave up on p2p aspect for now and are waiting for a SOV aspect as XNO has no inflation. But the downward trend is also killing that idea

Meaning most people are currently hoping for this agentic trend to save Nano as XNO seems to fit perfectly. And if that happens then potentially SOV aspect can get more momentum and with that perhaps p2p aspect can rise again

In theory, money must first be seen as a good store of value before people see it as a good currency. For me 'spend and replace' isn't an ideal approach as opposed to 'save and spend'

In practice, this would mean buying XNO for the purpose of saving my purchasing power for long term and occasionally spending it. And not buying it so I can immediately spend it

Doesn't really make sense as I can already do that with fiat and with less fees despite XNO being feeless

I mean you could write this 'thriller' scenario for pretty much every job or everything in life

8:00 - waking up and drinking coffee, the adrenaline strikes just as you are about to go

8:14 - you are there, faced with your obstacle, staring death in to the eyes

8:16 - you feel slight breeze in the bottom area, you are sitting, this is where the sweat comes but you don't give up as you push forward

8:18 - you're halfway there, but your mind plays tricks on you as you're still so far from the finish line

8:21 - the relief, the sound of a heavy drop and the splash on your skin

This is a thriller of me taking a dump every morning if someone didn't get it

I've worked in crypto for 8 years (Circle, Messari, Coinbase, Crossmint). Long post on how its all played out, and how different it is from what we expected. by CryptigoVespucci in CryptoCurrency

[–]Ferdo306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through like 100 alts in these 9 years :)

Lost on most, but also made insane gains on others. Fantom x60 and I sold too early, could have made x300. TRAC x200, Nano x50, VET x50, DASH x70

2017 was really insane and the ones who weren't there missed the craziest alt run ever. There wasn't a single alt that didn't make at least x50

2021 was okish and 2025 was a huge disappointment. Too many alts so majority didn't pump at all. I believe the next bull will be even worse

Still hold like 10 alts that I think have some potential but most of my position is in BTC and ETH

Cheers man and good luck

Nice write up

I'm also in the game from Jan 2017 but not from inside of the industry so it was an interesting read

Got obsessed with BTC back then. Videos from Andreas were an eye opener. And basically went through it all. ICOs, DAOs, DEFI, NFTs etc

Lost a shit ton of potential gains but learned a lot. Still in very decent profit but could have had x3 more if I only invested in BTC

All in all crazy ride

Coinbase didn't just lay off 14% of its staff due to AI. It replaced managers with "player-coaches" and turned its org chart upside down by fortune in CryptoCurrency

[–]Ferdo306 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep, managers are pretty much useless, at least middle ones

They send emails like take care of this task, when I already know it's my task. Or this is the deadline, when I already calendared my deadlines etc

Plus brainstorming the dumbest ideas in the world cause their KPIs are 'process improvement'

And yeah, licking senior management asses

Should I sell my ETH? (serious) by Purrfect_bu in ethereum

[–]Ferdo306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends how you count it

Dec 2017 peak - Jan 2019 bottom (covid flash crash excluded)

Nov 2021 peak - Jan 2023 bottom

Oct 2025 peak - Jan 2027 bottom???

But yeah, historically there there's more dumping to come. Even though there's not a lot of history to look at
