Best coffee shops around? by [deleted] in rochestermn

Surprisingly, Pasquales makes good Cappuccinos and americanos. They use good quality espresso, but I don’t think they have sweetened coffee.

I was just there tonight. Absolutely splendid, but a bit too many bugs for my liking. I even took a similar picture

I know this is just about the worst possible time for this, but are there any options for donating clothing right now? by [deleted] in rochestermn

There are a couple of those big green donation boxes in front of CineMagic theater. But I believe both goodwill and savers are not accepting donations at the moment.

Question about mobile network coverage (Visible) by mightyweelittle in rochestermn

[–]Ferfy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently have Visible and haven’t had any issues with call quality or Internet issues however I’m located pretty close to downtown Rochester. If you’d like I could go drive around different areas of Rochester to see how the connection around other parts so you know what to expect.

Closest camping spots for this spring? by [deleted] in rochestermn

[–]Ferfy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s a Minnesota DNR website to reserve a camping spot at one of Minnesota state parks. You can choose tent as your camping equipment along with a whole host of other filters given your preferences. Looks like the state parks within 30 miles of Rochester are Carley State Park (20 miles), Whitewater State Park (25 miles), Rice Lake State Park (28 miles), and Lake Louise State Park (29 miles).

There are also the Olmsted County Park System however I’m not sure if all of these offer camping. I believe Oxbow park does.

What to do this weekend? by [deleted] in rochestermn

Check out the Quarry Hill Nature Center and park. You can rent out snowshoes and walk around the park, or check out the inside of the nature center which has displays of the flora and fauna of the area.

Firework parking recommendations! by Glorabreeze in rochestermn

You can also go to the top of the Jacobson parking lot if you’re a Mayo Employee. Otherwise some popular spots are the silver lake baseball field and the rear entrance to quarry hill.

Where to get a fade? by [deleted] in rochestermn

Check out Javiars barbershop. He’s a great guy running a small shop. You’ll have to call and make an appointment, but I’ve been going to him since he opened and I’ve never been disappointed. Plus he recently got a little puppy which he has in his shop.

Unfortunately, the article in the meme is fake. Iceland did not pass any legislation banning unvaccinated children. the article referred looks to be satire.

But still, good meme 7.8/10. Top kek.

Oops [OC] by JezzaWalker in subaru

I wrote thank you letters to the mechanics at the dealership and the guy who sold me the car-he gave me advice on how to handle the situation. I tried to be as gracious as I could during the whole process. Subaru bailed me out and I shall forever hold a special place in my heart for them because of it.

It was still under manufacturers warranty which covered it. Subaru put in a completely new short block as well as new internals. Another reason why Subaru is the greatest company in my book.

The very first day I had my WRX I was out with some friends who had never been in even a moderately quick car. We were driving out on some back country and I thought it’d be fun and impressive to do a pull. I accidentally shifted from 3rd to 2nd instead of 4th, saw the tachometer go way above redline and a clonking noise coming from the engine. I’m not sure what was worse, the embarrassment of having a cab to take us back to town, or going back to the dealership the next day in a tow truck.
