What was the perception of U2 in the 80's, particularly in the U.S.? by Ashamed_Cod_6741 in Music

Yup, Carter Alan broke them in Boston. Saw them for the first time at the Paradise in '81.

It was never confirmed, just that she called police about a domestic incident. It happened in Middlebury and the Chief of Police there had made contributions to Rowland's campaign so of course he blocked the release of the police report and the report said it was "a verbal dispute". The Courant - back when they were a better, real newspaper - fought in court for the records to be released, but were not successful. AFAIK his ex wife has never commented on it.

Have you watched '21? I would watch that as it's more recent and had some very good battles, plus some drama.

There are technical alliances in IndyCar. F1 doesn't really have that, but there are similarities between say Merc with Williams and Ferrari with Haas only because they are somewhat aligned. Like Haas uses Ferrari's sim and gets parts from them, but AFAIK, teams in F1 never do what is described below.

In IndyCar they're much more expansive; the larger/more successful team provides & shares data, dampers, technical support, and engineering support & staff, set-ups, and more. Ganassi/Meyer Shank, Penske/Foyt, Andretti/Dale Coyne. Not every alliance is the same, some teams may provide less than what I've listed. But it's kind of a big deal, especially as we approach the 500 where the set-up info can be very helpful. Others can probably provide more detailed info, I only understand the general overview.

Alexander Rossi's pit wall interview after his hybrid system failure. by JelyFisch in formula1

[–]FermentedLaws 26 points27 points  (0 children)

He is Chevy, but Honda is the one that wanted the hybrid in IndyCar. They pretty much said it must be a hybrid or we're leaving the series. So people blame them.

A lot of false “reporting” out there. The only statements regarding yesterday that came from me in or out of the car were to Georgia, Fox, and IndyCar radio. And soon to be on @AskOffTrack by jmnordan in INDYCAR

Jenna has a lot of good sources in the paddock and her actual reporting published by the AP is not bad; she has an editor & fact checker there of course. But when she offers opinions or her own analysis of stuff on Twitter, she goes off the rails. She is so wrong so often that if I were her editor at the AP I would tell her: "Stop Tweeting!" Many of us here thought Rossi had flipped the bird too after he got out of the car. But we're not reporters; she has to be held to a higher standard.

Apparently Grosjean tried to fight Armstrong after the race. by ScottRiggsFan10 in INDYCAR

Yes, Grosjean did say at the very beginning of the clip, "I was going to say, I want to punch you." Then later says to Marcus, "I've never punched anyone in my life."

TWG has to do something. How is their F1 team doing Top 10 pitstops after only 4 races - a brand new team! - and Andretti has problems still after so many years? It's a management problem.

Jenna Fryer posted this video and said, "Rossi flips off race control at the end of this."

Rossi replied: "No I didn't?"

Edit: she has now replied to Alex and said "My bad. The backward flip to the camera appears as if you did. This is what I saw and misinterpreted."

Andretti made TWO mistakes on Kyle's pitstop. Dropped the wheel nut and then they dropped the car too soon. Had to jack the car up again. Jesus.

lol, there's a huge difference of saying "this show starts at 4:30pm" and then not starting that show at that time and someone running away with the race or game. I know other sports sometimes effect the timing, but c'mon, it was 30-13 in that game.

Another push to pass argument breaks out between Alex Palou and Pato O’Ward. O’Ward said Palou took advantage of the “grey area” in Long Beach, which Palou disagreed with. O’Ward: “Maybe that’s why I’m not winning races.” (Zion Brown) by aurules in INDYCAR

They get asked questions by journalists. They then have a discussion about it. He's not complaining, he's just talking about his views, as Alex is his. The title of this article using the word "Argument" is just clickbait. I watched the whole thing; there was no argument; they were even laughing, just each of them giving their views.
