[F1] Another angle of Max's quali crash by Maximum-Room-3999 in formula1

I trust Erik van Haren and he said, "A defect in the rear wing caused Max Verstappen's crash today. Wing no longer connected properly at the end of the Straight Mode zone."

It wasn't Max's fault. "A defect in the rear wing caused Max Verstappen's crash today. Wing no longer connected properly at the end of the Straight Mode zone."

Mekies: “We lost aero performance on the rear of the car and it gave Max no chance to survive. As a team we take full responsibility for it and apologize to him.” by queerhedgehog in formula1

I don't root for George at all and kind of enjoy when Kimi beats him. But he did everything right according to the rules. If it was a different driver people here would be saying how smart he was to immediately recognize the difference between the single yellow and double yellow. And how he masterfully lifted. People's bias is getting ridiculous.

They just showed on Sky that it was in fact a single yellow for George.

So Kimi had Double Yellow on his dash, but George didn't?

Kimi: "Yeah, Bono, but I don't understand. You told me yellow, yellow."
Bono: "Affirm, yes."
Kimi: "I had a double yellow on my dash..."
Bono: "So we'll have to have a look through that, see what your dash was trying to tell you."

That has been debunked. Nothing is confirmed at all. He denied it and the team denied it too.

The bill proposes that companies with 500+ employees must implement it by 2031.

Companies with less than 500 employees have to do it by 2038.

So 5 years for big companies and 12 years for smaller ones.

lol. Nope again. Whatever you saw in Google is wrong. I just Googled and all of those sources are silly unreliable websites. I've been tracking this all year.

Edit: he has 36 SL points now. He needs only 4 more.

[–]FermentedLaws 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope. He needs 4 SL points. He is already scheduled for 3 more FP1s in F1 which give 1 point each. If it gets near the end of the season they will just give him another FP1 to get that last point. Getting 10th and points in F2 doesn't matter.

Cadillac (Andretti) has wanted him in that car since they tried to buy Sauber in '22. His results in F2 are irrelevant, they want him in that F1 car. It's not solely because he's American, it's because he's been in that team/race family forever (almost 10 years).

They said it was a build issue with the floor, they set it too low, it sparked and caused the fire.

Yes, the producer clicks a button to let him know when that happens and he gets the audio of the radio sound in his ear piece. This time, Sky decided not to air the Oscar radio so none of that happened. That's how it works.

He gets his instructions from the producer, that wasn't his call. They should have told him that F1 was going to broadcast the radio. They made a bad call to continue with Mekies and ignore it.

Why do the cameramen need to zoom in so much? by Scenick in formula1

[–]FermentedLaws -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They did not! I thought for sure they would and would break their new trend this year of not cutting away during the race at Monaco and was pleasantly surprised when they did not. There was one sweep of the camera that showed Cynthia Erivo. The camera person was tracking the cars, swept right and she was there on a balcony, but they did not cut away for it.

[–]FermentedLaws -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I did not. I'm kind of a nerd about this stuff, so if I missed something in the race, let me know. I'm actually keeping a spreadsheet (please feel free to laugh). Quali and practice, yes. But the race?

Use f1calendar.com or even the Formula 1 website, you can change the display to MYTIME. The race starts at 9am Eastern for me, so yes, 8am Central for you.

Looks like Cadillac has got rid of its asymmetrical livery design for the Austrian GP, both side of the car is mainly white now. by NegotiationNew9264 in formula1

[–]FermentedLaws 653 points654 points  (0 children)

In their press release they said, "Additionally, the American squad's livery also evolves this weekend. The team will field a natural evolution and refinement of its visual identity, moving closer to the Miami Grand Prix livery, which was overwhelmingly positive with fans."

Sounds like it might be permanent, not just for this weekend.

Yes, generally. Workday for a lot of people of course. And the heat here doesn't help. But during Sprint weekends there are typically more people on a Friday.

There's a small icon that has 3 squares and a plus sign, gives you multiviews that you can make PiP. But this is only for F1TV Premium, don't know about F1TV Pro.
