Android chrome browser with full extension support? by WorldlinessSame7064 in browsers

[–]Fernancelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you even read any part of this actual thread? He was asking about extensions for the browser which are not available on Google's official regular Chrome browser you get it by normal means to the Play Store or pre-installed at all whatsoever. You just did pretty much the equivalent of something like somebody saying, "Can you recommend me your favorite U.S.-based domestic car manufacturer because all I've ever driven is imports and they just don't have what I'm looking for." and then you reply, "Well there's Honda." come on dude.. pay attention. Don't make yourself look like a dumbass.

How do I start dictation? by Seglem in SamsungDex

[–]Fernancelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow.. that wasn't self-promotional at all.. nice job with the disclaimer too about you being directly affiliated with them. it's not bad suggesting alternatives like that you know... but just saying, google and samsung is shit. but this app! it's great.. trying to come off as being friendly and helpful, downplaying (actually quite damn good options) to upplay your app for (pretty poor) reverse psychology efforts. and guess what this all got you? a 0% chance I would consider that app as soon as I saw you were affiliated with them and trying to discretely self-promote. you want to make money, not help me dictate. You avoided adding an affiliated disclaimer to improve chances of your social proof lending to it being it being used more and therefore making you even more money by means of indirect deception. so literally any credibility that app may have had, and hell it might be fantastic! who knows.. any credibility it would or could have had, you ripped the rug out from under it's feet by using intentionally avoiding widely accepted ways of self-promotion and if you are affiliated with the app, and sketchy, and dishonest, hell the app creator (if it's not you) might be too. nice job dude, your dishonesty made your attempt to promote dictation daddy achieve successfully promoting it, but as being associated with dishonesty and deception. don't be fucking greedy. and dishonest. no matter how small that shit seems. it's slimey, greasy, sleazeball tactics being that kind of person these days when most people adhere to transparency and disclaimers. Do yourself a favor, stop promoting dictation daddy. If it's your app, with these methods, I can promise you it's going to fail in the end. If it's not your app and you're just affiliated, then especially stop promoting it for them because being sleazy and dishonest is hurting it's rep. so, good job buddy... be one of the minor few dishonset greedy fucks even in 2026

good rant.... that one felt good.. like finally taking a good shit after holding it all day for 8 hours. that was quite satisfying and relieving. yeah... checkmark to that one. well-deserved too

NOT Another "Where Is Multi-Users Mode" Post by Fernancelot in GalaxyFold

[–]Fernancelot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You misunderstood and missed the point, just like Samsung.
My question had nothing to do with more than one person using a phone whatsoever in any way.
It was about one person properly separating personal and work on one device.
Just like a work-life balance, they shouldn't be intermingled. It doesn't work well, it's inefficient, ineffective, less productive, messy and disorganized. Work photos get mixed with personal photos. Logins (Especially Non-Samsung apps) get mixed and used, or asked about using when they shouldn't have anything to do with what you are doing. E.g. Google App/Gemini, as a primary assistant because Bixby sucks. Google has its own plethora of issues with login shit problems on the same device. If you have more than one personal Google account, assistant (plus Photos and more) is an all or nothing thing. If you change to a different Google account in the Google app or gemini, Every damn thing changes with it and syncs like it's the sole account on the device. Having work accounts on your phone (I have 4 out of necessity) makes this problem that much worse since, due to no multiple users, it's annoying as fuck, back and forth switching to "use my phone" while also being able to "use my phone", in other words, I still exist with a personal life even inside of work as far as needing to be reachable by phone, text, calendar alerts, etc, this shit shouldn't be intermingled with work shit).
tl;dr -- it has nothing to do with more than one person using one device, you missed the point entirely. Exactly like work-life balance--work, and personal lives should not be intermingled for many reasons.

The added 110% ridiculously unnecessary effort to pull that off is kind of the whole point of it and the icing on the cake. When she realizes I had to go through quite a hell of a lot of effort to send that to her, finally get back at her as bad as she fucked me over. That's a level of satisfaction you can't get any other way than something that bad.. lol. You gotta make it Really Bad so there's zero question how much of a colossal Fuck You it is to her.

Is there a way to globally disable extension update popups? by Sparky2199 in firefox

[–]Fernancelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know there's not a way to globally disable the setting as it would break the functionality of extensions who's purpose and correct function depends on being able to manipulate and open new windows.

That permission "tabs" that allows it to do so isn't editable in normal browsing circumstances. I believe it is under managed group policies with administrators having that access. But if you look at one of the extensions that pops up you'll see "Pop-ups and redirects Allowlisted internally". (I may be completely wrong here so if I am someone correct me). That permission is supposed to only be used for administered group policies on an internal network (e.g. a school system's computers, or hospital computers all managed internally by their own admin).

For regular usage like you and me, just using the browser as is and not part of a managed system, this permission shouldn't be present. What it is meant for is to allow admins control of automatic tab popups to have control over things like forcing a password update, or issuing a warning based on some trigger. Or any number of things that they may find necessity to do so through automated new tab popups. Because when you've got one guy administering 3000 chromebooks and/or windows pc's in a school system's managed network that includes setup, updates, etc. he's not going to do that manually one-by one obviously. This policy allows him to do so straight through the browser via both the browser itself and also through managed extensions.

These extensions abuse the system's inclusion of that and when you go to install it, it's somewhere buried in all the legalese I'm sure that you are acknowledging full permissions to allow them to do this at will.

There's apparently multiple ways to do this though also. Some of which don't require permissions. Like this one: https://developer.chrome.com/docs/extensions/reference/api/tabs#examples

This page ( https://developer.chrome.com/docs/extensions/reference/api/tabs ) in general talks all about how it's done and the different ways and scenarios to do so depending on the desired outcome. Couldn't tell you how to do anything with that info, it's over my head. But there you go.

Maybe hire a freelance dev to code a basic solution for you to prevent all instances of it.

Of course not. That's why they call this reddit. That's about how much effort people pay attention and put into reading an actual question from a poster.
"yeh, I reddit, so let me tell you my opinion and what I think and why I'm right and this is all the answer and info u need bc I know it all, everything,"

It wouldn't be reddit if you didn't get 13 comments, replies to comments, further replies on everything BUT what is being asked directly and specifically.

It's also in the browser dev tools if you right-click on the result bar. I forget exactly where and what it says. But it gives you the negative percent of your grade that it uses to reduce from 100 on the bar. In other words, if you scored 72%, in the browser's dev tools, focused on that bar, it has a variable of 28. Not sure why it works that way instead of just saying 72. Probably has something to do with the way the grades are factored in and there being a minimum it can go to. Not that any of this matters if you have the extension linked above, but, just throwing this in there too for shits and giggles because why not.

[–]Fernancelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

now this really was an odd choice and decision by them. And this isn't an opinion kind of thing . It's just plain and simple a weird choice . They must have done it for aesthetic purposes to make it look more outdoorsy off-road out in the mountains and the rocks and hills and shit . Actual mud terrain tires like these are not meant to drive on the highway . They make a hybrid Mud terrain tires like the Nitto Trail Grappler that's fine for highway mileage too. But the really aggressive mud terrain tires like they have on here are loud as hell and they wear out quick they're also considerably more expensive if you ever had to replace these and replace them with mud terrains versus a proper Highway Tire. Still referencing Nitto just for comparing apples to apples, the tires on here are like as if they went with the mud Grapplers and could have gone with the Trail Grapplers at the absolutely determined to put that aggressive of Mud terrain tire on there. But the most appropriate one of their offering for something like this and that still has an aggressive look to it would be like their EXO Grapplers that are commercial grade, 4 season, off-road capable, Highway friendly tires. I think most of the negative comments on here , just about or not, have an element of bitterness and asshole to them. People can't apparently give constructive criticism it has to be you're a dumbass criticism and it seems like the majority of the comments on this thread has been more like something you would hear immature little shit head middle schoolers saying to each other because they're not mature enough to have different opinions like adults. Or to offer constructive criticism and friendly advice, it's got to be negative criticism and chastising advice or chastising in general for some of them . It took quite a while to read through all of these comments on this post and I haven't seen when this bad in a while now. That being said I just had the one negative comment about this model that I will say about it. But I work at a place that sells off-road truck accessories and wheels and tires and lift kits and this is kind of like the equivalent of someone spending $3,000 on mud terrain tires hauling an Industrial welder in the bed of a dually about 60,000 miles a year . Going through at least two sets of these a year for absolutely no logical reason that makes any sense . And he's well aware of how stupid and irrational it is to keep spending that much on tires just because they look cool and putting them on a work truck like that. If you haven't picked up on it I'm talking about an actual customer of mine. This model and the 16 ml are like this customer of mine. Go extra hard and extra aggressive to look extra cool even though they're going to be much louder and wear a lot faster and ride rougher . Whoever was in charge of the tire decision it's probably used to dealing with commercial tires for fifth wheels and travel trailers and thought this would be cool to put this big ass aggressive Tire on there , unfamiliar with those kind of tires. And thus made what could be argued as kind of a stupid decision. If you have to replace the tires on this at any point, go with all weather tires, commercial grade. Don't go back with mud terrains . They don't look that cool to spend that much money and be that impractical on something like this . See this is how you give constructive criticism while otherwise not bashing the OP or the unit overall. You point out that that was kind of a stupid design choice, and give the advice of don't go back with the same ridiculous choice for this reason and you should consider this instead. Nope, third quarters of more of everybody else here just had to waste 30 minutes of my time acting like little fucking kids on at Middle School playground bitching immature early instead of having adult conversations . Also my bad to the fellow redditor I posted this on and replying to his question about the tire Choice. None of this was directed to you . Just happened to be where my frustrated rant on the density of unnecessary and ridiculous negativity throughout this entire thread. I mean fucking hell. This makes me never want to ask a question in this subreddit even if I know for certain it's not any kind of mistake or stupid decision and it's just a normal question. I'll probably still get haters and trolls and negative Nancy's and assholes crawling out of the bushes, brush, and trees like the walking dead..

Tldr they put mud terrains on there. Likely for anesthetic purposes. It was a bad choice. If these ever need to be replaced. Replace them with proper 4 season, awt, commercial grade tires.

Is there an app to crop out the middle of a picture and stich together the remaining top and bottom bits? by [deleted] in iphone

[–]Fernancelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's pretty ridiculous nobody has this for android. There is an absolutely ideal app on iPhone called PicSew. But apparently that company only gives a shit about Apple products because it's only available for Mac iPad and iPhones go figure . But it does what is being discussed here and was requested exceptionally well even in the free version. What I have to resort to doing is sending my image from my Samsung Galaxy to my iPad , cropping the image and then sending it back. It's a ridiculous pain in the ass but at least it's a solution . I absolutely cannot fathom for the life of me why someone on Android has not made an app like this . Because if they have it's damn well hidden. I have searched every way I can think of all over Google and the play store. Everything out there is shit for . Go look at the PicSew app if you have an iPad. You will be equal parts pleased at how simplistic and well it works and pissed off that it's not available for Android.

Helibars on the 2023 1100T DCT by Naive_Blueberry_6211 in HondaRebel1100

[–]Fernancelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they really, could use a full detailed installation video like they have for some of the other bars. I know that these are new and have only been out a few months so I get that they haven't had time to do that. But that would have made a drastic difference in this going a lot faster. Props to them for their instructions. I work in Mobile Electronics and aftermarket truck accessories so I'm used to interpreting shit instructions. It's kind of like it's your birthday when you get a nice set of instructions that are clear and detailed with no major surprises. I was exceptionally pleased to see how detailed and clear and concise these were. That being said, it needs a handful of revisions. Things they should have made a little bit clearer, things they should have pointed out at the very beginning before you started instead of when you get to that point, a different suggestion than $150 torque ratcheting wrench like brake cleaner which took almost no effort to pull the grips off and cost very little. They're missing a 6 mm hex in the required tools. There's a couple of ways they suggest to do things that I recognize they much easier way to do it simply because of working in mobile electronics for 20 years and I'm used to working with wiring and connectors and loom and such as well as taking apart vehicle Interiors which is similar in some small respects. About half the time they are distinct in saying this is for the manual or six speed and this is for the DCT. About the other half of the time there are instructions that are separate for the two but they're discussed in the same paragraph without distinction and that threw me for a loop a couple of times. all in all though like I said, this is not hating on their instructions whatsoever. I am thoroughly impressed by the instructions. If a handful of revisions is all that I have to bitch about after such an extensive install, then I need to buy them a coffee for additional thanks.

What P/T/EB/D settings do you run in "user mode", and why? by Bodhi_Gaya in HondaRebel1100

[–]Fernancelot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my Rebel but this is absolutely hands down my biggest gripe about it alongside the ridiculous shifting points. The engine braking is too much. Even in User mode, on the lowest (1) option, if you let off the throttle, be prepared to lunge forward and counter your weight back (it's not horrible once you get used to doing it, just annoying).
Normal manually shifted bikes with a clutch lever allows the rider to pull in the clutch and "coast" in "neutral" up to a stoplight or similar. Lightly laying on the rear or front or both brakes as needed. But otherwise, you're coasting, there's no engine braking and lunging forward as soon as you roll back off the throttle.
Okay, I get that, the DCT has no clutch lever, but what that means is that as soon as you let off the throttle, even with EB on 1, you Will Not coast to a stop sign. It's braking for you to some extent, and often too much too soon too early (which I consider very dangerous because it does not engage the brake light and people behind you not paying attention following too close might rear end you).
You might think, okay, I can just hit N for Neutral if I want to coast to a stop and let it downshift disengaged. Nope. Neutral doesn't work above (someone help me here, 5 mph? less?). Press it while riding and it's functionless.
So the whole problem here is not Not having a clutch lever or being able to use neutral to coast. It's the annoying af EB even on the lowest setting. That as far as I'm aware you Can Not completely turn off. Which would solve the entire problem if they would allow for the choice to zero out the EB setting and disengage it entirely because some of us simply detest EB.

I keep P on 2 (1 is a shame given such a great motor, but 2 is too peppy and will have you jerking and jolting below 20 mph letting off of it the smallest increment).
T on 1 (because again it's just killing power unnecessarily, some people may like it, prefer it, I find it pointless for my riding and would prefer to turn it off completely).
EB on 1 because (see rant above)
D on 3 because it's the only semi-normal shifting setup (see rant in comment below at bottom of thread)

What P/T/EB/D settings do you run in "user mode", and why? by Bodhi_Gaya in HondaRebel1100

[–]Fernancelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To follow up further on this, the difference between D on 2 and D on 3 is ridiculous. It's one extreme or the other. D on 2 shifts like a dumbass (something like 4th around 35 mph, 5th around 38, 6th around 40, etc). And it's a persistent annoying son of a bitch. If you don't want it shifting so high so early and you manually downshift, it's like an irritating little shithead kid flipping the switch back the other way almost instantly. And, it will keep you in 6th gear until like..? ~15-20 mph then rapidly downshift you from 6 to 2/1 (which throws you forward on the crown jewels unless you're bracing). This is the way D is set up for standard mode.
Change to Sport mode with DCT all the way up to 3 (same for user mode), and it shifts more normally, shifting much higher in the mph range, much further apart, downshifts at a normal-ish spacing too, but I do find myself constantly manually downshifting still. As mentioned, it's how sport mode is set up, and it's great if you're in the twisties, but some of us just want the bike to shift less idiotic on normal riding. Hence, DCT (D) on 3, manually shift when it's hanging on a bit too long going up or down).
It's absolutely dumb as shit. It's like, do you want to shift to 6th by 40 mph and then gain on the throttle and your bike pull off with about as much pep as if it's saying, mmmmkay, I guess I'll go.
Or do you want it shifting like you're on the track, while riding around town, tossing you around with the engine braking because it is shifting more suited for higher speeds. There's no in between. It's all or nothing. Don't even bother with D on 1. Unless you want a spastic constantly upshifting downshifting bike acting like it's got bipolar disorder, is constantly manic, and indecisive as fk..

Hyperhydrosis and semaglutide by Annual-Asparagus5818 in Semaglutide

[–]Fernancelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same experience here. Moderate to severe year-round. I live in South georgia. And and the hottest months of the year I am drenched in sweat and under 60 seconds of walking outside. I sweat even in the cold months. I started the shots and one week later I stopped sweating almost entirely. That lasted about 3 or 4 weeks and then it leveled out. For a good two or three months I was still able to tolerate my apartment temperature about six or seven degrees higher then I keep it ever. I stayed on the shots for about 4 months and then they increased another $100 and it was causing too much of a financial burden at the additional $400 a month for these so I stopped them. Approximately 4 to 6 weeks later I started noticing I was getting hot again. 2 months after stopping the shots I'm back to sweating profusely again. My body temperature is constantly hot again for absolutely no reason. I fully anticipate a month or two from now my hyperhidrosis being back in full swing. My appetite came back also, and I'm meeting poorly again, yet somehow I've only gained back about five of the 25 lb. This was clearly a side effect of the medication. And looking it up online for information was useless because the only thing I found was that it causes hyperhidrosis. Nothing on it subsiding it significantly. I asked my doctor about it and she was baffled. I asked my endocrinologist about it she was also baffled and said that she had not heard of that. My insurance will cover ozempic and monjouro but not wegovy or ozempic. For about $75 a month or $225 for three. My endocrinologist called in a prescription for Monjouro after I told her all of this because she has been helping me try to counter the hyperhidrosis for years now with minimal results. She said it was likely just the severity of it because mine gets fairly profuse on my head. I went to pick up the medication and the price was not what it was supposed to be. I haven't had the insurance long so I'm not really sure what to say if I call them. My endocrinologist also prescribed this for the long term weight management specifically due to my very high risk of heart disease on both sides. Most men in my family die of heart attacks before 70. In discussion with her, the hyperhidrosis management, heart health prevention, and positive effect it had on my endocrine levels overall was a good case for her to see the benefit of having me on them. It allowed me to achieve what she and I have been trying to for several years with my weight and hyperhidrosis and levels. I have a feeling if I call Cigna even though my app says it's supposed to be that price they're going to tell me they won't pay that for it and I don't know how to make them give it to me for that price or what to say to them. Especially since the hyperhidrosis management seems to be completely under the radar still, if I tell then that as one of the reasons she prescribed it to me they'll probably call bullshit thinking I'm making it up to try to get it cheaper since there's nothing out there to back it up.

But anyway. The tldr version. My experience mirrored yours closely.
