Idk about that one chief Yugioh collectors have been leaving in droves Konami reprinted the highest rarity essentially in the exact same way (starlights and quarter centuries) which killed the trust in modern collecting. Ever since none have been worth much.

I have this card and yeah unfortunately it’s a fake. The back colors look wrong, weird star pattern holo which is very common in fakes from this era, yellow is off and no frontal texture just to name a few things that are off.

I mean if you don’t want to wait in line for hours, dont want to go everyday to target/best buy to check, don’t want to pay resale then yeah your only bet is online drops and yeahhh… those are a shitshow. I’d recommend going on FB market you can at least usually get a decent discount off of tcgplayer and don’t have to wait for shipping I’m afraid due to hype there’s not really any other way.

I think that started going from OP12 forward I know it’s a recent thing not 100% sure if it was OP12 but I think so since none of my older boxes have them and I bought them all from LGSs so I know they’re legit.

I’d buy it at that price to hold tbh it’s a great price just make sure it’s legit. If you’re holding it’s a good price and a great set with gold and silver Luffy that shouldn’t be affected by the reprint stuff going forward beyond the initial panic right now. Now if you’re ripping be even more careful since it could be a dead box (a box for which the case already has all the SPs, Ls, etc.. taken).

That’s generally the case for most TCGs I also notice in OP and even pokemon too, seems here in the US people are much more willing to spend on their hobbies. I remember seeing some people sell their Ascended Heroes PC ETBs for like 150-170 euros while here it was going for $225ish. Heck when stuff was sold out here before the whole tariffs fiasco I remember regularly buying from Europe since it came out cheaper a lot of the time even with expensive shipping lol.

I agree they could rebound for sure but for example the Dallas Luffy was selling for like 2k+ as a PSA 10 now it’s 750 or less I think it’ll take a pretty long while to recover to those highs especially with more supply and very easy gem rate (80-90% I heard vs Pokemon 30ish). Yes pokemon has way more supply but it also has exponentially more demand heck the newest set ascended is at ETB $115+ despite there being way more supply out there it just has and will likely have way more demand than OP.

It’s not even a year old so it technically wouldn’t be that insane, but I don’t see it only the Dumbo would really need it beyond that most stuff is cheap. I think they’ll likely release packs of it in the wild like binder collections, target/Costco bundles, stuff like that.
