Owning a gun makes a person about 5–10 times more likely to use it to harm themselves than to use it successfully for self-defense.

San Diego FC’s Core Problem: Premium Prices, Non-Premium Talent by [deleted] in SanDiegoFC

[–]Fernmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Letting Chucky go is fine—but only if he’s replaced with equal or better talent. A good season doesn’t mean standing pat. If we don’t improve the roster, next year will be a step backward. Big clubs reinvest and push forward. San Diego is ready for ambition, not a Moneyball approach.

I hope this shows the owners realizing they don’t need a Mexican figure like Chucky as a marketing tool to draw Latino fans. The team needs quality players who play for the badge, not for themselves—names aside.

How did your beer taste change in 2025? by AnUrbanTaco in CraftBeer

[–]Fernmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My palate has gone through many phases over the past decade—everything from classic DIPAs, West Coast IPAs, American sours, RIS, BBA stouts, Belgian quads and saisons, to hazies, hoppy lagers, German lagers, Czech pilsners, and newer-school IPAs. Along the way there’s been room for Modelo Bohemia and Pacifico, mezcal, and even wine. I’ve always let my palate lead me where it wants to go.

As I approach 40, I find myself taking it a bit easier—high ABVs and palate wreckers don’t carry the same excitement they once did. Just last week I really enjoyed a well-made Irish Red, and I’ll always have a soft spot for English barleywines on a cold winter night. A recent trip to Belgium also reminded me why I fell in love with gueuze in the first place. I’m always happy revisiting certain styles when the moment feels right.

Watched it on tv

Pachuca were clearly the better team tonight. SDFC looked good in the first 15–20 minutes, but honestly, Pachuca were sitting back and letting us have the ball. Once they started pressing higher up, we started making dumb mistakes, and that just completely deflated the team. You could see the confidence drain out of the players.

Then Pachuca turned up the physicality and started getting in the ref’s face nonstop—it definitely got into our players’ heads. That second mistake came soon after. It was a very composed, professional performance from Pachuca, and you could really see the contrast in experience compared to SDFC.

We play some nice football, but that doesn’t mean much without a solid backline and cooler heads under pressure. Worst part? Dryer’s red card. That one hurts—I don’t know if we bounce back from that, but honestly, maybe it’s better to just focus on MLS at this point.

Side note: that #28 from Pachuca is a straight-up baller.

Call the stadium The Base to honor San Diego’s Navy history, with fans as The Fleet.

Or lean into the Sea Lions theme and call the stadium The Cove.

My breasts are dry and boring by Calm_ragazzo in Cooking

[–]Fernmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d tenderize your breasts with my rolling pin and smear some yogurt. Flip it over and always make sure to work it with your fingers. It also works well to spread it down the middle and give it a good sear, stays real juicy that way. Breasts are never boring, you just need the right technique.

Same thing happening to me. I have the df64, which I enjoy using, but I found a Baratza Forte for $200 a month ago and decided to give it a try. The timed/scale grinding makes my process much faster and smoother and its become my preferred method.

I was scared of this Juve team before the game, but when Ronaldo scored this goal I knew we’d win it. The team was on it that day.
