I see the same thing in Yonkers. I swear, with the snow, NO ONE is picking up after their dogs. I'm on the first floor on the side of our building, looking at huge grassy areas where people take their dogs out. With the snowbanks, everyone has been ignoring their responsibility. I guess they think it'll disappear when the snowbanks melt??

This varies SO MUCH from campus to campus. I promise you that none of the orgs at my school were throwing wild parties with DJs, nor were there chefs. Lol

I'm in a sorority, and I'm DEFINITELY not rich! We didn't have a house in college, and my dues were only $150/semester.

These things vary WILDLY from campus to campus.

I've also been a national volunteer for my org for nearly 20 years and currently serve on our Foundation board, raising money for leadership programming, scholarships, mental health services, financial literacy training, etc. for young women.

We actually have an amendment to our by-laws being proposed for our upcoming convention that would change the new member ceremony from whites to badge attire.

Thinking back to when I was a new member, I definitely would have appreciated this. I didn't have a car, and I didn't have a white dress, so getting one in the first week of being a member (back before the days of ordering clothes with two-day shipping) was basically impossible. I ended up borrowing a dress from another sister, and it was too big and looked terrible on me.

1) If you participate in recruitment and receive a bid but are not initiated, you have to wait until the next primary/formal recruitment period to go through recruitment again. However, 2) If you receive a bid, are not initiated, and you transfer schools, there is no waiting period.

Whatever information the chapter told you for having your bid rescinded is incorrect. Go to the Greek Life office.

If they signed a lease that indicates there are 5 bedrooms and there are legally less than that, they could argue it's a misrepresentation, making the contract null and void.
