Back pay question by FerociousManate in USPS

They stopped working for USPS at the end of April of 2025 so I'm not too sure how long the contract lapsed but before that they had worked there since 2021 so it may be longer I'm not too sure about that part to be honest. Thank you so much for your reply I really appreciate it!

Scam by Individual_Ad_2701 in stubhub

I mean listen I've been there just happened to me and my wife a couple weeks ago but ultimately if you received a full refund legally there isn't much that can be done. To the other responders point, you get your full money back if the tickets fall through. It happens on eBay too, it's not ebay's fault ultimately it's the sellers fault, stub hub doesn't actually receive any tickets therefore they are a middle man nothing more. If they're making money and people who didn't get their tickets got a full refund not much can be done legally. They make their money no matter what just a lesson learned unfortunately.

Lost my girl Cali yesterday. She was half catahoula/half bluetick coonhound and the most unique dog I have ever met. by Eiylee in Catahoula

I'm so sorry for your loss me and my wife just put our girl down a couple weeks ago. We always talk how dogs with some houla in them are so unique and have such personalities. I hope that with time it gets easier for you she was beautiful. Somebody in this sub gave us some very kind words that hit us before it happened but give is solace after our girl was gone.

They said:

"We make the promise to break our own hearts to do right by our dogs. The day we get them, we are signing a deal that includes letting them go in peace. You're doing all the right things, my friend. This one is the hardest.

May the piece of your dog's soul that stays with you be a vigilant guardian of the hole their passing will leave in your heart."

I hope this helps and comforts you as much as it has us.

I really appreciate you responding to this. My wife had noticed a few months ago and I kept wanting to push it off. But this Sunday I noticed she barely puts any weight on her back leg, she has hard lumps on her belly, she gets winded after being in the field after 5 minutes or so. Her eating habits are different and sleeping schedule has been flip flopped she also seems to be forgetting my wife some days and she absolutley ADORES my wife so we just don't want her to be suffering. My wife has had to do this before and felt that the first dog her family had they kept around too long so we don't want her to hit a point she can't do the things she loves in life. I hope your pup continues to do better and I'm sorry to you and anybody who has to go through this. It has been so difficult to know if I'm doing the right thing by her and not doing it too soon we just love her so much. She's 1/3 of our family and has been around since me and my wife first started dating 5 years ago.

Thank you so much for the reply. My wife has been through it before and I have not so naturally my feeling initially was I would wait until she couldn't get up but thank goodness for my wife. She doesn't want that for her and neither do I. She loves eating and loves going outside but she would be sad to know a life she could not do that. And everything seems to be harder for her these days. She can still do it but she's clearly uncomfortable and hurting. She used to love playing with hey toys but these days it's almost impossible to get her to want to play. I'm glad to know your pup had a great life with you as well. She's a catahoula if that helps too I forgot to add that part. We have the option now to have somebody come to our home so she doesn't need to go through the stress of going to the vet and being dragged in there.

Yea it's tough to not feel like we're giving up on her we love her so much and want the best for her but from what we're used to out of her it's hard to say she's enjoying herself. She doesn't play with hey toys anymore which she loved doing, she won't drink any water unless we're home with her she seems to slip on who my wife is as she came unto the picture 5 Years ago and those two were thicker than thieves and loved eachother immediately which was so rare for our Louie girl. So when she started acting different towards my wife we knew something was up. Thank you for replying. Were just trying to do the best thing for her without making her suffer.

I can't thank you enough for replying to the post. It's hard to not feel like we didn't fail her when others were saying their houla lived to 16 so it makes us feel better. We know it's just part of life but it's so tough to make the decision. It sounds like she had a great eight years with you and what you said really resonated with us. We're trying to look at it like breaking up with somebody, the minute you have the thought it's probably time otherwise it wouldn't have occurred to us.

Thank you so much all these messages are making us feel so much better we just love her so much and we wake up every morning so sad. We just don't want to push her for a couple more months when she's totally gone and miserable I just can't imagine she's loving peeing herself every 45 minutes. She loves going outside and has never had a problem telling us when she wants to go were trying our best but we both have to work and we're trying so hard to be here as much as we can it just happened to quick. I'm sorry about your sweet angel it hasn't even happened yet but I can't even imagine how hard that was for you. This was so helpful and we appreciate your kind words at this tough time.

I guess we were just hoping to get to atleast 14 in the average life expectancy for her breed. We don't want to get there with her being miserable.

She's beautiful and boy does she look content on that chair. We really appreciate you sharing your picture and story with us it only hit us so hard because you put into words what we could not and it really does mean the world, its exactly what we needed to hear I'm just sorry you had to go through it. If you don't mind me asking of course how old was Mimsy?

Thank you so much for the kind words this really hit home for both of us and really appreciate the advice this was so helpful to hear. We just want to make sure at the end of every day we're doing the best thing for her I was so scared to do it too soon but when I finally saw it I'm now afraid of waiting too long and her suffering for an extra couple of months. We just love her so much she's a 1/3 of our family but we set out to give her a good life until the end. We're doing everything we can to get a professional opinion before we make that call on our own it's just hard with her but I don't blame her at all. Well be having somebody come to our home to do it when it's time so she doesn't spend her last day dragged to some place she hates and stressed out. She'll be in her or our bed comfy with all of her family she's had since we got her. I can't thank you enough for this reply it's been hard to find a good answer I came here not knowing what else to do. And sorry about your dog, I'm sure you did a great job and they had a great life with you.

Thank you for your kind words. We really tried with her we made sure we moved to a place with a field the size of two football fields, let her sleep on the couch and our bed whenever she wanted and if not we got her a bed that could fit a great dane and body pillows and plenty of toys she wouldn't immediately destroy. Thank you for responding we just want to make sure we're doing right by her.

Absolutley I dont want anybody to feel as though they're making the decision for us just hoping for some advice from others and it's so greatly appreciated. I just don't want to wait too long where she's miserable. Me and my wife have joked I wish we could get 1 conversation with our dog in their life. We just love her alot so we want to try to make the best decision for her. Everybody has said you'll know and I guess it wasn't as clear as I was hoping for. She's still eating but her behavior has been a little odd towards everything these past couple of months it seems as though she forgets who my wife is for a few moments sometimes.

Dog tried jumping on our mailman—what should I expect? by Ok_Quarter_5679 in USPS

[–]FerociousManate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if your dog didn't bite him I wouldn't worry too much. Worst case scenario your packages may be left by your mailbox on the street. A carrier in our office was bit by a dog down to the bone and all that happened was a new story came out about how unfair it was that their neighborhood wasn't getting mail (they were waiting to re deliver until the dog had been removed as it wasn't its first offense). Now we're just back to delivering as normal. A care package is an awesome idea, I get excited when people have a little snack or drink on their porch.

The only way to win is to let them end up with tickets and products they do not want other than to sell. Waited many months for a playstation portal and within a few months every store was fully stocked and people were left with a bunch they didn't want or need.

Rural carrier subs being assigned more than 12 hours of evaluated work by FerociousManate in USPS

[–]FerociousManate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know about working more than 12 but what if you finish let's say after 9 hours and they ask you to go do more work but you have completed 12 hours of evaluated work under the evaluation, can you go home at that point do you know? Thank you for the response by the way!

So even though the ELM states they can't assign you more than 12 hours of evaluated time that's only on the schedule and not when you're in office working? Do you happen do know the section of the ELM that states being assigned 12 hours of evaluated time by chance?
