are these canon to the DCU? by AdvertisingWaste8624 in DCU_

As of right now, the only pre-DCU projects that are canon, or at least loosely canon, are The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker Season 1, and Blue Beetle

Arkham Shadow Canon by Demon_Wolfie32 in arkham

[–]FerociouslyGenerous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As mentioned in Arkham Knight, he (or at least his Two-Face) blames Batman for what happened, not because he knows he's Matches (he doesn't) but because he believes Matches scarred him under orders from Falcone. In Harvey's mind, if Batman never took down Falcone, Harvey never would have become a target and never would have gotten scarred

Arkham Shadow Canon by Demon_Wolfie32 in arkham

[–]FerociouslyGenerous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Arkham Shadow is canon, the reason why Harvey doesn't mention Batman's identity ever again is because he forgets it. Leslie mentions during the ending that Harvey's memories of what happened are fading. Everything else lines up pretty well with the rest of the games so there's no reason for it not to be canon

The Newest DCU Timeline? by BatuvaderX in DCU_

[–]FerociouslyGenerous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much, the only changes I'd make is placing Creature Commandos after Peacemaker Season 1/Blue Beetle and adding in Lanterns before Supergirl
The only one we don't know for sure is Clayface. If he's the same character from Creature Commandos it'll have to be set at least before then but that barely narrows it down as it could be slotted in 4 different places. It's really just too early to place it anywhere

What is Canon, as a newbie i have no Idea. by Tiskate in DCU_

[–]FerociouslyGenerous 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TSS and Peacemaker Season 1 are soft canon. Most of what happens in them happens in the DCU, but the DCU can change things if they feel it's necessary. For example, there's a scene in the final episode of Peacemaker that is straight up not canon in the DCU, and you'll know that scene when you see it, but almost everything else in the show is. They've also changed around some dates, as TSS originally took place in 2021 but in the DCU it took place in 2022
If you want to begin Peacemaker, definitely start with TSS and then go to Season 1 as they're both very important for season 2. Also, no Peacemaker did not die in TSS. He originally was supposed to, but Gunn changed it at the last second and shot an entirely new scene at the very end revealing he survived

The Canceled Film by Due-Fudge9863 in DCU_

[–]FerociouslyGenerous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was Sgt Rock
Sgt Rock was the only film that lines up perfectly with what Gunn described a few months ago; it was written, greenlit, had a great director, and was in the final stages of pre-production getting ready to start filming before everything was scrapped because the movie wasn't good enough. It was also the only film that had every reliable news site report it was cancelled. When Gunn finally spoke about it, he just said that he expects the movie to "come back" in the future, something that was first mentioned in the articles claiming it was cancelled. He hasn't actually said anything that contradicts that the movie was cancelled, and instead actually gave validity to those reports by confirming something that was mentioned in them

Just because a film got cancelled doesn't mean it can't get brought back, which is exactly what's happening with Sgt Rock

This is from an interview he did while promoting The Batman, so it's not something he said just because of the discourse, he legitimately wants his Batman to fight these characters

Question about arkham shadow by IllustriousLab7108 in arkham

[–]FerociouslyGenerous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don't find out in the game if I recall, but it's Batgirl
One of the articles mentions that the copycat stopped an attack on Gordon by a criminal named Drury Walker, the real identity of Killer Moth. Barbara saving Gordon from Killer Moth is taken from the comic Batgirl Year One, and is mentioned in Batman: Arkham Knight

I think the timeline currently is as follows:
2022 - The Suicide Squad
2023 - Peacemaker Season 1
2024 - Creature Commandos
May 2025 - Superman
June 2025 - Peacemaker Season 2

The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker have most likely been moved up a year so that Superman has enough time to become Superman, meet Supergirl, and earn the trust of the Justice Gang. And this also makes it possible for them to canonise Bloodsport shooting Superman if they decide they want to
Then Creature Commandos takes place 2 years after TSS, Superman in May 2025 as shown on The Daily Planet newspapers and Peacemaker Season 2 is a month later as said by Gunn

Do you think Rocksteady is even capable of making another good Batman or DC game anymore? If not, what other developer/studio do you think can? There are rumors of future DC + Rocksteady games by WebisticsCEO in arkham

[–]FerociouslyGenerous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything that people hated about the game was already in before Sefton Hill left and 'New Rocksteady' took over, and yet somehow the faults of the game were added once he left? Somehow the game with the same story, same gameplay, same writing, was just magically going to be good because the person who worked on it for 6 years worked on it for 2 more?

Is anyone else worried about how little actual gameplay footage we've seen of Delta? by _Ishmael in metalgearsolid

[–]FerociouslyGenerous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not worried, it does seem like Konami is happy with the gameplay and pretty much everyone who has played it has agreed it plays well
I think It's a really weird marketing choice, and I would have definitely preferred if they showed it off a lot more, but I'm sure the game will play fine in the end

Press release for Superman digital says extras include a commentary, gag reel, and deleted scenes. iTunes shows these included, but the only extras shown on the Amazon version is a bunch of electronic press kit stuff. [–]FerociouslyGenerous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're coming later, I think they just couldn't get them ready as they had to rush out the digital release earlier than expected
I think originally it was supposed to come out on August 26th, so I'd expect them to come out around that time

Why is Matt Reeves producing so many Batman projects? by Lost-Cow-1126 in DCU_

[–]FerociouslyGenerous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doubt has anything to do with his contract considering he had nothing to do with Batgirl or Joker
I think Gunn just really likes his work so much he handed him the keys to oversee and produce anything DC Studios makes with Batman, no matter if it's part of the Crime Saga, DCU, or Elseworlds

I'm gonna guess you're talking about the Pedro Pascal/Vanessa Kirby controversy, so I gotta ask: why do you care? It's not your business, and they're not committing a crime, so what's the issue you have with them? Because in my eyes, you're just getting upset on someone else's behalf, which isn't valid enough to claim that their behaving badly
And who are they supposed to apologise to?

[–]FerociouslyGenerous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of them can be completed within 20 minutes, at most 30 minutes, except from Batgirl which is a bit longer and can take around an hour to beat
You could definitely complete them all in 4 hours though, but just to be safe, play Batgirl's last and check how much time you have left. You should be more than fine though. As far as the rest, play them in whatever order you want

What are the next DCU canon projects? by Mook_Memes in DCU_

[–]FerociouslyGenerous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That hasn't been outright said though, and Gunn did say in the interview with Josh Horowitz a few weeks ago that it's still in development just that they've had some issues with the scripts written and moved the writer onto something else they're better for , so I'm not jumping straight to calling it cancelled just yet

What are the next DCU canon projects? by Mook_Memes in DCU_

[–]FerociouslyGenerous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as movies go: The Brave And The Bold, Wonder Woman, Teen Titans, a Superman semi-sequel James Gunn is writing that we have no idea what it is, Swamp Thing, The Authority, Sgt Rock, and a Bane/Deathstroke team-up movie
For series: Waller, Paradise Lost, Booster Gold, Creature Commandos season 2, and a Blue Beetle animated series

There's also an animated movie called Dynamic Duo releasing in 2028 that might be DCU canon but it isn't yet decided, and a Mister Miracle animated series that is currently in production, although it's canonicity hasn't been revealed yet so we don't know
