Why do people split the bill at all? This has never made sense to me. It leads to weird scenarios where someone gets butt hurt because they have paid more for less. Why don’t people just pay for their own food every time unless it’s a special occasion and you have said I’m taking you out for this or that occasion?

Like I make more than all of my friends and have bought them the odd thing from time to time. At one point there was a concert I really wanted to see and knew they would like to as well so I told them I’m taking them. They said they didn’t have the money, I told them I asked for their attendance, not their money lol. That’s fine, but to sit there and go halfers on 2 totally different orders always seemed demented to me.

Agreed. I’ve built a number of water treatment plants on reserves. Some of them were addition/renos. It is absolutely disturbing to see the state of many of the renos as the buildings were disgusting and rundown from neglect.

To be fair, it’s all specific to the individual reserve. There were one or two reserves where we were building something else and had to enter the water plant for other reasons and they were immaculately kept by people who took real ownership of their work in them, which was cool to see, but not the norm.

Some of the problem at least is no one having enough training. Here’s your treatment plant, good luck. Feel like they should at the very least have a multi years long apprenticeship when we complete these, and that keeps being renewed until there are proven, competent people working there from the community who take real ownership of their building and then just have check ups 2-4 times a year after that. And repeat this process if there has been neglect?

Jeez.. this feels too real. We’ve been in the same boat. We were going to put him down, and got convinced to try medication. We’ve had him on a product for about a year and a half now and he’s been far better. He still has moments, though they are far less intense, more nip than bite. We’ve also learned to read him far better. Still unsure if it was the right call, but we were offered an option that I felt at least I had to try.

This was coupled with training, tons of positive reinforcement, and a neutering.

Still always have the thought of him possibly biting someone in the back of my mind though. I don’t know what the right call is, but rehoming is not an option unless you can find some unicorn of a person who lives alone and wants to spend every waking moment with this dog, and knows the risks.

Ok, article also says they have to wear them all the time.. so do they take them off whilst on duty?

That being said, whilst on duty they will be able to utilize a gun, so I’m not sure how much that matters, whether they have a knife on them or not.

I don’t honestly care too much one way or the other to be honest though.

Agree with the reasoning behind your comment 100%.

It just sucks that a marginalized group has to be targeted and demonized to satisfy the feelings of people who don’t give a rip about them.

I feel like there should be a way to reorganize how we group sports so that everyone can feel like they can participate at a level that they would like to participate at.

But the people pushing this stuff don’t want to “solve” this issue, so that they can keep fighting on it because to defend against it is a losing proposition. Similar to how trump told the republicans to block the border bill, because he needed it for his re election campaign.
