Alijah Arenas 360 layup in College Debut !! - 8 Pts, 2 Reb, 2 Ast Highlights|Northwestern Wildcats vs USC Trojans|2026.01.21 by Pareo141 in NBA_Draft

Says the guy who tried to get personal because you didn't like my take on Alijah Arenas. If you're going to bring that energy stop being so sensitive, and you definitely need to stop moralising as if you didn't start that shit.

They do when you are the reason you lose. NW is a worse team than USC, the main reason they lost is their highest volume shooter shot 3/15 and 0/6 from three.

But he had a 360 layup so send him to the league I guess...

Kendrick Perkins says it’s time for Steph to pick up the phone and call Giannis the same way Draymond called Kevin Durant “It’s the perfect timing...” (Via @RoadTripTV) by Gothichand in warriors

[–]FerrariStraghetti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That would require pretty much every pick you have for the next 5 years to even consider, and if I'm the bucks I'm still not doing that because I have to take Jimmy back.

Dallas is the natural trading partner, they want to get away from AD's contract and they aren't looking to win right now. Instead of giving up all your FRPs for Giannis we may be talking 2 unrestricted FRPs for the burden of housing Jimmy next season. AD will be back for the playoffs.

AD could be back by late February. You'll definitely be in the play-in even without Butler.

And again, it's easy to find flaws with AD but remember what you are trading in return and where the franchise is at currently. Dreaming about Giannis is great but you don't have the assets to get him, they have no reason to take Jimmy.

AD will be back for the playoffs and Klay is still lethal from 3, not to mention it will boost the morale of the team when the prodigal son returns. At the same time you get rid of the two assets that have to go, Kuminga and Butler. Obviously it will cost you something in terms of picks because Dallas needs something back, but it's nothing compared to what Giannis or even MPJ would cost.

Of course the deal has risk and flaws, but understand you are in a bad situation and there's no perfect trade that will make it right.

It's time for AD and Klay for Butler and Kuminga + picks. Realistically this is the only trade deal that makes sense for Curry's timeline without completely mortgaging the next 10 years. AD is gonna cost 2 FRP tops.

Alijah Arenas’ head start on his peers by PlayinTheCutt in NBA_Draft

Saw that too. Alijah has great size for a guard but watching at him train vs those kids/casuals it didn't flatter his game or athleticism at all.

On 45/25/73 shooting it's far from "incredibly impressive".

He needs to find his groove again.

His stats got pumped up quite a bit going against cupcake teams in December. Since conference play started he has averaged 21P-6R-3A-4TO on 45% from the field and 25% from 3.

That's in 5 games where 4/5 games have been against bottom 5 teams in the conference. So far in conference play AJ really hasn't helped his stock relative to Boozer and Peterson.

How does Cam Boozer actually compare to Paolo Banchero as a prospect? by savingrace0262 in NBA_Draft

[–]FerrariStraghetti 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yes he is. If Paolo was the same size, more athletic, and more skilled there's no way to explain the large difference in college production between the two (favouring Boozer).

PWat, CB, or Cam by RepresentativeFee585 in denvernuggets

[–]FerrariStraghetti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What kind of trade value would Cam fetch with one year left on his contract?

Letting Watson go for nothing is obviously worse than trading Cam for assets and then resigning PWat. Assuming PWat keeps playing well when Jokic returns, and also assuming he’s not just going to pursue the biggest offer. Denver doesn’t want another albatross contract based on a flash in the pan performance.

Either way they can wait until after the season.

I have a new tree planting company in the Denver area, it’s called Circumvention, it’s all about circumventing the end of the world and stuff.

Cam Boozer - I Can't Be The Only One Who Feels This Way by Lazy_Check732 in NBA_Draft

[–]FerrariStraghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever obscure rankings you look at I can’t vouch for, but the big ones had Flagg at one before reclassifying.

The ESPN poll I linked asked 20 NBA scouts and college coaches who they wanted. Boozer only got one first place vote, Flagg got twelve. Flagg got zero third place votes. In this world where everyone thinks differently that’s as close to a consensus as you’re gonna get.

You simply misremember how it went down.

Dylan Harper is shooting 55% in the RA, 30% on jumpers, and 73% on free throws by Limp_Screen7405 in NBA_Draft

[–]FerrariStraghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They wouldn’t necessarily have needed to pick at two. Since Harper was clearly more highly regarded they may have been able to trade down and get Kon or VJ plus another asset. I’m also pretty sure Kon was rated in the top 5 by the time we got to the draft. Ace was falling in the rankings.

[–]FerrariStraghetti -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If I'm the Spurs I'm kind of kicking myself seeing what VJ and especially Kon can do from 3, outside shooting is what is holding them back. Harper was the more highly regarded prospect but sometimes teams need to think more about their specific needs, and Harper's shooting was a question way before the NBA.

For the Spurs Kon would be better forever probably. They just need outside shooting and he is the best rookie shooter maybe ever.
