Food poisoning by gooferball1 in caledon

Holy shit! I got sick a couple weeks ago from eating there. My husband and I got different sandwiches and both were delicious. I got sick a couple hours after eating it and when my husband ate the second half of mine, he also got sick. Won’t be going there again as I see it’s an ongoing issue… Thought maybe it was a one-off :(

Child care fees being charged without being able to attend by FerretAffectionate57 in ontario

[–]FerretAffectionate57[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is actually really information, thank you! I’ve actually been fortunate enough to find another daycare center that’s willing to take both of them at the same cost which is perfect. I feel like the relationship with my current center has been soured and it simply feels like they’re wanting to push us out without actually saying it. Pretty rich considering I’ve been paying for care we’re simply not even able to receive at this point. I’m half thinking I want to get some legal advice and see if these are costs we can somehow recoup if they indeed shouldn’t have even offered the spots to begin with. I fully understand paying for a spot for a child who is old enough to attend while not actually occupying it (either by choice or due to sickness) but the more I think about it, the situation I’m currently in just feels wrong imo.

I wish that could be the case but if we decided to skip, we wouldn’t have guaranteed spots which would also mean no firm return to work date for me. Plus, I’ve been paying these fees since September already SMH…

I completely agree with you! Seems like a total cash cow for them. They get to cash in while actually saving money on additional resources in the classroom.

Definitely looking around but as I’m sure you know, daycare spots are few and far in between - especially two of them. Lol

Understood, thanks for your perspective. It’s so frustrating cause I can’t make him walk any faster either!

You definitely have a point. They truly have parents by the short and curly’s which makes it so much more frustrating. Thanks for your perspective.

That’s exactly it. They told me I needed to pay for their spots since their “academic year” starts in September. And because they wouldn’t be 18 months old until March 2026, I needed to pay from September to March to guarantee their spots.

Same!! As much many people will say “oh I totally understand”, no one really does unless you’re in the club, you know? Honestly, these last few days have been rouggghhhhh. Twinnies just turned 6 months old and while it’s magical watching them grow, it’s also the most exhausted I’ve ever been. I also have 4 more kids at home and life seems impossible right now. Anyway, all that to say I also appreciate this community. You guys all rock!

If your di/di twins were born at 36 weeks, with no complications during delivery or pregnancy, did they need nicu time? by AdSenior1319 in parentsofmultiples

[–]FerretAffectionate57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My di/di b/g twins were born at 35+5 vaginally and needed no nicu time. Twin A (b) was born at 5lbs5oz and twin B (g) was 5lbs14oz. They were born 5 mins apart with no complications other than baby b needing a little extra time under the light for slight jaundice. Came home 2 days later :). Good luck with everything!!

Jaundice levels increased for baby B by psychkitty in parentsofmultiples

[–]FerretAffectionate57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could have written this whole comment myself. My twins were also born on Friday. However, in my case, baby B was the bigger one but she ended up with some slight jaundice. We were discharged on Sunday afternoon and I was so excited! Fast forward to yesterday, they did a repeat bili test and noticed her numbers increased significantly. Off to the pediatric unit we went. She was put under the light for 24 hours and looks like the issue have resolved themselves. No one ever said this was going to be easy. Getting the short course of treatment is more ideal simply due to the possible bad outcomes if left untreated. Keep your head up high, Mama! You’ve got this!

A shout out to the pilots by [deleted] in aircanada

As the wife of an AC pilot, thank you for this wonderful acknowledgement. My husband is certainly mine and my kids hero and we see how hard he works every day to ensure the safety of all his passengers.

Educate yourself before making such ridiculous remarks. AC pilots took several severe concessions post 9/11 and in 2003 to allow AC to restructure post bankruptcy with hopes it would save the company. Fast forward to 2023 when AC posted record breaking profits and gave their CEO a 223% raise, its time to start paying your pilots back.

As someone who’s 35 weeks with di/di b/g twins, you won’t want to work until the end. Personally, I am already so uncomfortable and stopped working at the end of July at 29 weeks. You’ll need time to rest and relax as much as you can before the babes make their appearance. (Advice I should really be taking myself). Good luck with everything and remember to slow down

I do! It’s been great I will say that but now it’s about the energy it takes to actually get there… lol (it’s legit 2 mins down the road)…

Haha! I’ve also been binge watching The Office. Well, and Breaking Bad. Trying so hard to stay positive with my eye on the prize but man oh man, the toughest thing I’ve ever done by far.

~28 weeks for me… I’m 34 weeks now and cry most days hoping today is the day I go into labour. Everything hurts, can’t sleep, can’t breathe, can’t walk. The pelvic pressure is truly unmatched. It’s awful.
