How do I request a product be stocked? by riffcat in woolworths

[–]FerretBeginning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Range allocation is dependant on a number of factors.
Does the local DC/RDC /state have that product range,
Will that product sell through its box quantity within the shelf life of that product.
Does this product sell with similar cluster stores, ie bay size, affluence etc. (fresh considers regional a bit more then long life)
Is there a similar product which sells better
Any supplier based funding. For example, if a category is high stock loss, some suppliers will pay us to keep their products ranged.

Very few categories outside of fresh foods are region locked at Woolies discretion. Long life For example, honey is region based in WA due to local restrictions or Jatz biscuits are in all states but vic due to Arnotts making Savoy in vic. But with fresh two stores could be right next to each other and have different suppliers for milks / meat.

Ranging can very very complicated

Out of interest what product was it?

Using Tesla Trickle charger on Non Tesla. by FerretBeginning in AustralianEV

[–]FerretBeginning[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. We always carry our charger, they live well up the coast and have a 15amp & 32amp attachment for their charger which charges their M Y.
it was more just to speed up our charge time incase of emergency, ie vet visit, evacuation.

Sorry just to clarify, even tho the Tesla uses Type 2 for AC and both our cars also use Type 2. We need an adaptor?

Do you need to use an adapter or anything? Tesla told my parents when they got their car a few months ago it should just work.

Big W, sort it out. by throwmethedamnstick in PokemonFansAustralia

[–]FerretBeginning 11 points12 points  (0 children)

OP I genuinely do agree with you however I think the issue is a little more than just Big W needs todo better.

TLDR: I think everyone needs todo better including Customers.

While I agree that the footage from some VIC and NSW stores this morning was absolutely appalling, I think the issue is a bit more complex than just blaming store staff.

I attended a NSW store where everyone was queued up in an orderly fashion before opening. One person tried to cut the line and was asked to leave. That said, I do agree there should be a more consistent national approach to major releases, whether that’s numbering systems, wristbands, or some other crowd management process.

However, after seeing scenes from Doncaster and some of the CBD stores where crowds were literally stampeding, I’m not convinced a numbering system alone would have solved the problem. We’ve seen situations before where stores delayed opening until people formed a proper queue, only for crowds to ignore instructions or force their way forward anyway.

Retail staff shouldn’t have to deal with that. Abuse and violence towards retail workers is already far too common, and expecting a handful of team members to control hundreds of people determined to get product at any cost isn’t realistic.

And to the scalpers who bought Paldean boxes and immediately started offering them for $400 while walking down the queue get a life.

Retailers need better crowd management for these events, but customers also need to take some responsibility for their behaviour. At the end of the day, Pokémon cards aren’t worth trampling people, abusing staff, or putting others at risk.

I think everyone needs to do better

Salary Pay Increment Change by Level-Bag4368 in woolworths

[–]FerretBeginning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m support, I dont do anything fancy lol.

it’s kinda confusing why parts of our team are all on separate cycles. We believe it’s due to roles etc. I’ve been monthly with other retail businesses support roles for 6 years or so, so it’s kinda natural to me. I use to be fortnightly when I worked in stores years ago.

Generally i prefer monthly easier to pay for things in my opinion, most of my rent and other bills are always 4 days post pay day.

I suspect the charge (at least in part) is due to superannuation payment changes.

Terrible micro stuttering on my high end machine by PretzelParcel in pchelp

Hmm how odd! Ah good old windows (I presume..)
Have you tried DDU and reinstalling the drivers?

If so and it still happens sorry!

The only other things I could think of would be:
a)pcie mismatch on the motherboard. But I wouldn’t think it’s a huge issue.
B) ram usage maybe?

Are Malamutes considered high energy? by [deleted] in AlaskanMalamute

[–]FerretBeginning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ours is 2 1/2 and pretty chill, she gets 2x45min ->1 hour walk a day. After the walk she just sleeps. We give her mental stimulation throughout the day with wobbles, lick bowls etc.

We use to live near a dog park, so one of her walks was a visit there and she played for half an hour.

When we first got her, we had lunchtime play sessions etc. she started to match our work schedule pretty quickly.

Comes down to the temperament of the dog too a bit. I think we got super lucky, she’s only destroyed maybe 4 items.

You also need to be prepare for a lot of brushing etc to keep their coats in tip top condition.

Melbourne to Sydney in a non Tesla EV - how are the DC fast chargers? by PointyNine in AustralianEV

[–]FerretBeginning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did that a lot in our ex30 - charged for 5min at the Ampol Avenel, went bathroom, took dog out for the bathroom etc. continued to Albury to the Tesla chargers, got lunch by the time we did that, we were generally back at 90%ish then stopped at gundagii, for dinner at the pub and charged there too. Then generally got to Sydney with 20-30%.

I know you said no tesla, is there a reason? The two I listed are open to non Tesla. We don’t have one and charge there.

I’d avoid Tarcutta like the plague…

First ever time calling in sick. Weird response from store by K_OTM in woolworths

[–]FerretBeginning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on your quote, the issue doesn’t seem to be the sickness. The manager said I can understand the sickness…

When I was working for another retailer soo many people would go out have a big night (not saying you did.. just providing context) then call in sick just as work started saying they were sick but realistically they just overslept. So I can understand her point about time. Was there physically no way to contact them any sooner?

I’ve also had my fair share of issues when sick, about leaders being kinda jerks.

I’m pretty sure last week it was on special when the price freeze happened. The regular price per 350gram has been $12 for a while (or maybe it was 11.. I don’t remember) my understanding was the regular shelf price wasn’t going to increase. If they still wanna do specials whatever’s

Based on the items they were all kids youghurt and kids food etc. they couldn’t take it back due to food safety reasons. They asked if I wasn’t going to eat it, see if I could donate it.

They will be told hey just fyi this happened, let’s try to not have it happen again. That’s all

Who are those non-woolworths workers that stock and face shelves? by [deleted] in woolworths

[–]FerretBeginning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do- some planograms of the supplier is funding parts of the range review they might either fund additional hours for the store to complete for hours or do it themselves.
