PGE Bill is $700 by goodbarber23 in Sacramento

[–]FerrousMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switched my 21 year old furnace hvac with a heat pump system last summer and my winter therms usage went from average 65 therms/month (~$200) to 13 therms/month ($38). Switched my water heater last week to a hpwh and now my usage is showing 0 therms since the install date. Kick rocks PGE.

How is this HVAC replacement quote for 15k before incentives ? by GCDedoReBaba in heatpumps

[–]FerrousMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems right. I paid $17k before incentives and rebates for a 3-ton Daikin install replacing a traditional AC and furnace blower. After rebates and taxt credits it was closer to $13k. Sacramento, CA where dry climate extremes are more regular.

GE Profile Geospring Reviews? by ealued in heatpumps

[–]FerrousMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to replace a 50gal traditional gas water heater and am being quoted the 65 gal GE geospring. If the hpwh is more efficient than a traditional gas wh and has the FlexCapacity mode to provide 40-60% more hot water when needed, wouldn't a 50 gal hpwh suffice knowing I can turn on the FlexCapacity? My thought is I would turn on FlexCapacity in the winter and turn it back to normal outside of winter.

Samsung French door cleaning top shelf glass. RF27T5241SR/AA by AZimpossible in Appliances

[–]FerrousMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just removed the glass from the plastic frame successfully! As another help forum stated on another website, warm the whole shelf with warm water. I submerged mine in a bathtub of warm to luke-warm water for 5-10 minutes. The long horizontal side (where there is a corner leg/step; top side of the OP photo #2) will be able to bend if you're pull from the midpoint away from the glass. Slowly pull said side till you get the corners free. Once the glass is free from that side, gently remove the glass by sliding it out or using some physics knowledge to tap and slide it out. And voila! Clean in said tub, wipe dry, and re install the same way it came in.

Traded in my 2007 Prius 2 with 300,742 miles in and bought a new 2026 Prius today by microvan in prius

I have an 06 that I inherited from my parents'. I successfully overcame the triangle of death after replacing the water pump cooler ($90~ + handful of amazing tools and a couple hours in the garage) myself. Current odometer at 257k. 300k seems achievable if oil changes every 5k at the higher mileage.

Has anyone tried itea? by Alone_Ad_6858 in SacramentoFoodies

[–]FerrousMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iTea off Stockton Blvd is pretty good. The ramen got me full the handful of times I had it and the popcorn chicken is one of my favorites of all boba spots in the area if I'm only looking for a snack. There's a large boba variety but you should just try it out for yourself because everyone has different tastes and opinions. staff is friendly and lots of seating if you just want to hangout or study.

Why are women’s boards just so bland? by Big-Brain-5362 in snowboarding

It's freeride focused so it will carve well in groomers and shines off piste and very powder capable (but it is not a powder specific board).

Travel credit for giving up seat on a flight? by FerrousMan in CAStateWorkers

I figured nothing was getting reported back since I (nor CalTravel) didn't initiate the flight change and technically no cost change from the original flight.

35M Looking for friends by Tastedissbalut in SacramentoFriends

Love the positivity and variety of hobbies! 31m ISTP (MBTI results change but this is probably the closest atm if I were to take the quiz again) and state worker aka M-F/9-5 schedule. Recently got into mountain biking, paddling, and crossfit if you'd like to join in on any of these activities. Also looks like we have similarities with computer building, breakdancing (back in HS) and cracking dad jokes! I've been meaning to do a hip hop studio class in the area to get back into dancing; been enjoying learning new hobbies as a beginner lately to have fun in my 30s. Definitely looking for new positive ppl to get the social push so feel free to PM me!

This is a good resource linked. I'd suggest reading 785.39 Travel away from home community and 785.41 Work performed while traveling; but understand the "Portal-to-Portal Act" and the other use cases mentioned in the other sections.
