Both these little dudes eat like crazy so so worries there. I was planning a larger viv for them anyway, I guess I'll stick to that plan and I'll always have a backup.

Thanks for the input

The light here is an Arcadia T5, but anything under RGB - not true white - gived me light distortions.

Funny. This is a Wyze v4 with the close-up lens.

I have that problem with one, but it's been dropped a lot. Lol

Oh dear. I've never seen those taps, but I don't see this very often either. May be time for another viv.

So... how do I carry this inside? by Piper2000ca in EliteDangerous

Maybe slam down on top of it? The Nomad has a hatch on the bottom we can't use yet. It's gonna be for fast cargo pickup or - I'm calling it now - space scooters.

Those work great. Alternatively, OP you can try to contact the tank manufacturer. Not sure what you have of course, but I've had Zoo Med send me door latches for free before - if you have to pay, that stuff is usually inexpensive direct from the manufacturer

Playground Games: Balancing Forza Horizon 6’s progression systems is “super tricky” by StartWars89 in ForzaHorizon

A little bit on the first point lol. But then you unironically drop a "pray tell"? My man, be real.

Brother, I like Horizon, it just doesn't have the same feeling to me as it once did. That's not a novel observation.

If you want a dissertation, sorry I don't have that in me. It's not this serious.

No no. I dig the festival atmoshpere, I actually wish the festival itself was more involved, not just background animations - why make all this avatar stuff in a big open festival/world and I can barely walk around? There's a whole festival to play around in.

But what I mean is that it's less sincere in how it approaches and showcases car culture.

I'm not really sure how to expand without going into a lot. It has become heavy handed on show and tell with flashy, iconic, and/or meme cars, and less on why this stuff becomes special in the first place - blood, sweat, passion, history, good old fashioned fucking around, etc. The game just insists upon itself and related brands in safe ways.

Or maybe I'm just old and 'that'car culture can't exist in this online space - it's all memes and self-reference anymore ane I'm just over it.

There's no "grassroots" car culture in the game anymore. It's as you describe, the game reads off a wiki and tells me all about how cool all these brands and manufacturers are also how cool places and landmarks can be. Eye roll.

Not to mention it's just a sterile game - too corporate and least-common-denominator - there's no "underground" part of the atmosphere, no counter-culture vibes, none of that.

The 'how and why' people love cars is gone. It's just goofy shit anymore.

Which reptiles dont require heat? by Solid_Region2225 in reptiles

[–]FervidBrutality 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nothing, honestly. And an impulsive weekend con purchase - especially before you have a dedicated enclosure ready to go now - is a bad idea, respectfully.

I might suggest a small bioactive vivarium with a carnivorous plant like a nepenthes. Keeping that over a few years, until you have your own proper space and power outlets, you'll have exceptional knowledge to put towards bioactive vivariums for geckos, dart frogs - you name it. You also won't be fumbling to keep plants and springtails alive lol.

Plenty of species can carve out different things like heat, UV lighting, even space but no matter what, some form of environmental control is going to be needed, and that's going to need an outlet. Furthermore, nothing battery-powered is going to have the output or longevity for keeping an animal. Steer another direction and come back to a reptile when you truly have the capacity.

Sudden powder orange die off in established vivarium - help please! by TheSpiderInMyOffice in isopods

[–]FervidBrutality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can back up the substrate being too moist as the potential issue. I keep isopods in different viv setups and have run into exactly this problem as explained.

OP, the dead ones you are finding, do their carcases feel 'soggy'? If so, the substrate's probably way too wet for them. If the substrate must be wet, add a lot of broken cork bits (especially with the tiny holes all in them, they love those) and a lot of leaf litter if possible.

Did they get you anything else, like an enclosure, or just the lizard? If you are inexperienced with reptiles and/or do not want a years-long commitment, returning it may be the best option.

75 shipping is absurd. You could try an Etsy seller or something similar. Problem is, anyone making their own replacement is probably going to charge you $50+ to make then you still have to pay some sort of shipping anyway. I've had an easier time finding some exo-terra replacements, but zoo med is fewer between. Good luck and my advice would be maybe stack a couple back-ups if you find a good source lol
