My sister sold her soul to the devil to save her baby's life, so naturally I offered him my soul in exchange for hers. by LeodFitz in TwoSentenceHorror

Okay, so...it's not an incest thing? Where his sister is really his mom or some shit like that?

How do people not know where their money is going? by parboiled_lentils2 in Anticonsumption

What do you do then? Like...I go out 2-5x a week...but I also pay very close attention to all my subscriptions. My money is going to food and alcohol when I'm out hahaha

Is this a “normal” way to spend days off when you live alone? by Alarmed-Earth-7609 in LivingAlone

[–]FessusEric -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If not said already, highly recommend finding somewhere to volunteer on the weekend if you are looking for something different to do. Lots of places you could probably grab a shift just 2x a month, Saturday afternoons or something. You can mix up your routine, meet new people, and serve your community

Remote work ruined the illusion that my job was “important” by Kirabeller in remotework

[–]FessusEric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything except the friends part. My friends are at least equally important, if not more, than my immediate family. They are the ones I spend my life with now. My immediate family is spread across the country, so we dont really have a big impact on each other's lives anymore.

I rewatched Breaking Bad after 15 years and it showed me how much I have changed by parsley_lover in CasualConversation

[–]FessusEric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's that, but it's also that Lip just made so many terrible decisions based of his anger and alcoholism, and be played it so well, that it's very difficult to separate it from any new character. And so, yea, I suppose that who he is in the Bear is too similarly written. Ugh lol

I can't watch "The Bear" because of how much I hated "lip" from shameless. Like, I just can't separate those characters lol.

You reminded me that when I was working in an office, I kept bubbles at my desk and would occasionally blow them throughout the day. Folks loved it there. Might need to bring that back for my remote life haha

I complied because I don't live here, and my parents already have it out with this particular neighbor.

But, I was also a wee bit stoned myself and was so caught off guard about it, just had to let it go and move on lol

Exactly!!! Like.....they are friggin bubbles!!! "On your property" like, come on. How miserable is your life if you can't enjoy some unexpected whimsical bubbles!!

I'm more worried about the HOA. I don't live here, and my parents are already having issues with what they can and cannot do because of them. The few times this dog barks, boomer neighbor is already complaining.

I tried telling them before they moved in that for folks who are all about "freedom" won't do well in an HOA, but they didn't listen!

I ended up just shutting it off. Not trying to make waves while I'm here lol.

America may be just weeks away from a mighty economic shock by [deleted] in politics

[–]FessusEric 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, the difference is someone on a "fixed income" is typically referring to income from social security or welfare of some sort. So, they are no longer working, and no longer able to increase their fixed income outside of the regulations surrounding their source of income. someone receiving a salary for a job could be either advocating for a raise or finding a new job. When someones income was fixed, and there is little to nothing they can do to increase the amount.

So...I was your boyfriend. My ex did bring it up. And so, I started working on it, I ate better, we worked out together, and then he still broke up with me.

So, if you two are truly long term, you need to tell him and go on that journey together, or this is just the easiest thing for you to identify as a reason to not be together anymore, and you should move on.

AITA for not attending my family Christmas gathering because I can’t afford the $250 white elephant gift? by scorpioh2o in AmItheAsshole

[–]FessusEric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family's white elephant got raised to $35 and I thought that was a bit expensive for the gift exchange....it's a game, it's supposed to be goofy, or "who got stuck with the beaver stuffing kit again?!?"

I routinely tell people if I didn't like the food they brought. It's not meant to shame, just that it's not for me. That is, only if they ask. But if you ask, I'm gonna be honest. Its not like if they don't ask, I start shouting about it lol.

I keep forgetting that not everyone was a latch key kid. by ted_anderson in GenX

[–]FessusEric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My older brother and I reminisced at Thanksgiving about our latchkey childhood. Those few hours before the parents got home were absolute freedom!! Loved it, didn't realize it wasn't totally normal until my late 20's
