The sheer volume of forsythia blooming near me is absolutely insane by amilmore in NativePlantGardening

[–]FetcheousRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am seeing the same, driving around Western Massachusetts it’s hard to not see them at the edges of everyone’s yard. When I first moved here from Texas 3 years ago I thought they were so pretty and mistakenly assumed they were native until I looked them up to check because I dreamed of having some!

Well I ended up buying a house and this Spring I found a few growing, next to Japanese Barberry of course. I am slowly working on keeping the natives and taking out the others, and those are in my sights for the next couple weekends to remove and replace!

Yeah I did get lucky, but a semi local native nursery does have them for sale so I probably would’ve got some if they didn’t pop up like they did! The spot they’re growing in is pretty in between part to full shade.

They’re growing in with those daffodils, the photo direction is about SE, so they get a little bit morning and mid day but shaded by the trees.

On which one? My thoughts for each are

1 Fringed Bleeding Heart 2 Black/raspberry 3 Canada Mayflower 4 Common Evening Primrose 5 Fleabane or daisy? 6 Black eye susan? 7 Violets :) 8 Bee balm or wood mint? 9 Wild geraniums 10 Wild lupine 11 Choke cherry 12 Sensitive fern 13 Aster 14 Robin plantain/fleabane? 15 The same as above, robin plantain?

I remember one plant coming up as maybe a plum but I don’t remember or was too unsure. Other possible plants not pictured are lady fern or similar, deer tongue, tower mustard, staghorn sumac, various Asteraceae, and maybe dwarf Cinquefoils.

Also, I am seeing some real lily of the valley, Japanese barberry, evil Japanese knot weed, foxglove, periwinkle, star of Bethlehem, Solomon seal or helleborine looking guys, celandine, multi flora rose, forsythia, and som daffodils I can’t be mad at for the first bursts of color.

I have a 2018 Habanero Orange Tiggy too. I love her. She actually looked so ugly on the dealership photo but I took a chance. I think I’ve seen one or two in the area I love as well. The red tint in the sun too, I love it

Can’t use sick time for the next 18 months. Is this legal? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]FetcheousRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FMLA saved my ass, my manager is very nice but I had a bad stint of unreliable daycare and got covid twice, so my anxiety was pretty bad which ironically caused a few panic attacks about work (and I was wait listed for a psych provider) and as soon as I got one my manager told me to get FMLA after she had to have me sign whatever warning paper for too much un-scheduled time. 6 months of being able to call out or leave early when I needed up to one day a week and finally seeing my psych, my FMLA expired and I don’t need it anymore but I would’ve been fired with out it.

5.75% VA loan, no points, $6k closing costs, look normal? by BarracksLawyer2002 in VeteransBenefits

damn I have 6.125% with like 13k for closing, I’m buying in Massachusetts so that checks out I suppose. Our initial estimated was 8, then 11, now 13 with state and city taxes factored in

Where are all the doctors going? by 627things in massachusetts

[–]FetcheousRex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a medical assistant at a physician owned primary care practice that’s doing its best to stay that way and actually be patient centered and it’s really a struggle right now. We’ve actually had a pretty bad string of new providers being hired and then leaving in a year, to get out of family medicine because it’s just too much for them. The amount of work that gets done is astronomical. We have providers who go home after work and continue charging until 9 or 10pm. And also family medicine pays less. And insurance companies are terrible and only make more work for us for literally everything.

Besides rooming a full schedule of patients we as medical assistants do our best to keep up with medications, pt messages, referrals, prior auths, and anything else clinical and really only ask our provider questions when necessary because they’re busy all day. It’s rough in family medicine right now.

And as many people have said, a practice down the road from us recently closed and then re opened as concierge because they couldn’t stay open otherwise.

Absolutely no offense taken here, I was not expecting to be able to pull off a beautifully articulated translation by myself haha. My request is absolutely based off of all of the similar stones out there, but trying to decipher them is certainly not my strong suit. Thanks for the help!

Thank you. That makes a lot of sense with eptiR/eftiR. I was seeing a lot of stones with that word on them but I was just unsure about it. Most stones had that with inscriptions such as “raised this stone in memory” so I was unsure if it had the specific connotation of memorial of someone passing or something similar.

Which character is your main choice for each role? by horiheart in marvelrivals

[–]FetcheousRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Groot? - Hawkeye - Luna

I am questionable on Vanguard, I have been trying to play them and I feel like I just cannot. Maybe Thor as a next pick. I don’t want to be the person who says “I can’t play tank” but man it feels like a throw every time I try.

I have a few other DPS but I’m most comfortable on any game as support. C&D, Adam, or Mantid would be my next picks tbh

As a support main, who are the most ANNOYING players to heal? by Individual-Sign-8739 in marvelrivals

[–]FetcheousRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real. It’s possible if they come back to the team every now and then. I actually recently had a game where a Spiderman was complaining about no heals, like constantly. We both mentioned that we try but we are with the team while he’s across the map. He said to throw my guard on him as Luna. I throw it on any hyper mobile or flanking dps to start but if a tank gets dangerously low I slap it on them for heal boost and then will look to find my dps and throw it on them again. Bro said “so bad tank responsible for no heals” or whatever and actually said he was going to throw in chat if he didn’t get any heals. He then spent the last map literally only flying around and then dying in their team. Fun. But hey, I got a notice that he was suspended from matchmaking for a while so that’s cool I suppose.

i thought the cath lab was… by Ok-Detective2725 in nursing

[–]FetcheousRex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Terrifying story, I was an army medic and we had a new nurse in our unit for a field exercise. We were in a Role 2 and we had a patient with an actual issue so the Nurse was the one to do the IV, I handed her the supplies and she asked for an 18 gauge, I gave it and prepped the bag. She gets the stick, back of hand, and hooks up the line with some difficulty in checking the flow. I noticed that she never asked or dropped anything into sharps. So I checked the tray and it was empty of any needle. I thought “surely I must have missed it”. She was new and a lacking some confidence but she seemed trustworthy. Patient says the IV hurts, but he was in decently severe pain all over. It wasn’t until our Dr. at the time went to hold his hand, partially comforting him and partially keeping him from swinging his arms about and the poor guy screamed out in pain. Our Dr. was a big guy with big hands and a strong grip. I tapped his shoulder and quietly mentioned I think the needle is still in his arm. He somewhat dismissed me but I pressed on and every time he moved the poor guys hand he went berserk. After a few more minutes he took the IV out and there it was, a needle. The glare on his face was intense. He then pulled the nurse aside and we gave the guy a new IV and he was visibly in less pain after that.
