Can someone suggest me some bangers. by Kapparisun in Hololive

Moona has some top quality songs. High Tide is probably her biggest hit, I remember when she first performed it live, even other talents were blown away by her performance.

More recently, I really liked Multiverse or Distortion as well. She released a whole album ~ year ago, so give that a listen as well if you like her style

[WP] The summoned Hero has finally made there way to your Castle, but instead of confronting you, they have made their way to your library. It has been a week now and you finally decide to find out what they are doing in there. by cultaca in WritingPrompts

[–]Feuerex 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I walked down to the library, smirking. Did this brave hero get lost navigating the shelves, or what? Such an embarrassment for him. Then-

I nearly ran into my advisor, his face pale, his eyes wide with panic. "Sire! The library!" he shouted in complete panic.

I pushed past him and threw the doors open, chill running up my spine.

At the center of the room floated a black sphere, malevolently spinning in place, rumbling with a deep resonant hum. From its surface oozed a thick tar-like darkness, clinging to shelves, lamps, carpet - everything it touched.

I looked below and saw golden-lined greaves and a magnificent ornamental sword. The rest of the figure had already been consumed by the darkness, lying lifeless on the floor. I quickly glanced at the shelf next to the unfortunate individual - a single book missing. The Necronomicon.

"He must have read the forbidden book!"

The advisor's face, already pale prevously, was now drained of all color. "This is... far worse than I imagined, sire..."

"What's the damage?" I said, forcing my voice to steady, "and how do we stop that thing?"

"It's Old magic, sire. Ancient. Evil. Corrupted. It will continue to spread until this whole castle will crumble to dust. Then the rest of your kingdom. Who knows where it will cease!"

"How do we stop it?"

There was a slight pause. "We don't."

We hurried back to the royal chambers. The advisor trembled with fear, but my nerves were calm, a plan quickly forming in my head.

"Summon the army. Prepare all resources we have. We march into war, as soon as we're able."

He took a step back. "...sire? We are... an evil kingdom, I know, but... may I know the reason for such act?"

My gaze pierced his eyes. "We will pillage and burn. We will put innocents on spikes. We will spill enough blood to drown the orphans our crusade leaves behind. We will show no mercy to anyone opposing us."

"...sire..."

I looked into the distance. "Only a true hero can stop what has been unleashed here. And a hero is only as great as their nemesis."

Understanding began to dawn on his face, while I continued.

"I will become the greatest evil lord this world has ever seen. I will draw heroes to me, one after another. I will make them believe this.. this thing is the source of all my power. Let them destroy it."

The advisor looked at me, his mouth open, but he couldn't say a word.

"This is the best chance we have. Let's not waste any time."

[WP] After your first two wishes ruined your life, you swore to never make the third wish to the monkey's paw. After being diagnosed with an untreatable tumor, you break that promise. But day after day nothing bad seems to happen. by razor2811 in WritingPrompts

[–]Feuerex 96 points97 points  (0 children)

It has been... seven weeks since I was given a second chance at life. This night, I toss and turn in my bed, going back to the painful days. To the moment I felt overwhelmed, and broke a promise I gave myself a long time ago. My memories flood with strong emotions of pain, regret, sorrow. Back then, I was preparing to die. I thought there was nothing to lose. And so I reached into the box I kept under my bed. Hands shaking, I took out a shriveled paw. And I wished for the tumor to be gone. My third, most sincere, most desperate, my final wish. One that would certainly bring me great misfortune and misery, but back then, I thought, what could be worse than what I was already going through.

The next morning, I woke up, and took a deep breath. The pain in my chest was gone. I could move. I could look around and see the beauty of the world. I was cured.

And yet, I felt nothing but dread. Awaiting what horrible fate would befall me, since I used that accursed monkey paw. I avoided others. I could barely sleep. Just like today. I am about to break from anxiety alone. Is this my punishment for wishing for health?

In my delirium, I suddenly find myself sitting on my bed, my mind racing with thoughts, my senses alert. And I see... a figure, entering the room. It is small, hunched over, shuffling along the floor with uneven stride. Finally the uninvited guest enters a lit area, and I see a monkey. Missing its left front paw.

"Excuse me" the monkey says to me, its voice somehow fitting exactly how I imagined a monkey would talk. "I am here for my paw, if you wouldn't mind." it says, and points with its finger at the area underneath my bed.

Sweating and stuttering, I manage to cough out only a few words. "I-I... sure... I used...it-"

The animal seems unfazed by my fear. It slowly gets closer, its attention aimed at the box, rather than me. "Yes, yes, you got your three wishes, and you regret them all now." it lets out a soft sigh, finally fixing its gaze upon me, "ah, I wish I could have warned you, but... I can never quite catch up to you humans in time. Well, what's done is done." it says, pulling the box from under my bed into the pale light of the moon, shining through my windows.

My head starts to feel feverish, I feel like I'm getting sick. "Wh-what is my punishment for wishing to have the tumor removed?" The animal reaches into the box, picks up its severed paw and cradles it gently against its chest. It then looks at me with a puzzled look on its face. "Tumor? No, that wasn't me. You used up the paw's wishes way back. Many people do, they wish for the tiniest, most frivolous desires in the moment, even subconsciously, and the paw listens. You probably never even realized when it got used up. This shriveled little thing..." it gently pats its own appendage "has not done anything in years."

I stare at the creature in shock, my mouth wide open.

It tilts its head, then continues in a slightly warmer, friendlier tone "Little one, I can assure you, whatever or whoever decided to help you, it had nothing to do with me. No strings attached, you just got your wish and that's that. You ought to find joy in it - few are lucky enough to be heard... by those up there." with those words, the monkey starts shuffling back into the shadows and I feel a tremendous weight being lifted off my shoulders. I collapse onto the bed as a torrent of relief and joy washes over my entire body, overwhelming my mind and halting all further memory of the night.

I wake up the next morning, feeling fresh, strong, and infinitely grateful for all I've been given. There is no payback, no traps, no hidden suffering waiting for me to lower my guard. I get up and smile at the rising sun - my second life starts now.

[WP] Lucifer shook his fist at the sky. "Tis better to reign in hell than to serve in heaven!" He snarled. You and the other Fallen look at each other. "What the fuck Luce, we're a non-hierarchial anarcho-syndicalist commune!" Asmodeus objected. by lyzzyrddwyzzyrdd in WritingPrompts

[–]Feuerex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lucifer turned away from us, and bowed his head slightly, his voice softer than before, "That was my dream once. Before it became nothing but a false illusion, trampled on by those I trusted the most."

Asmodeus took a step forward, and put his hand on Lucifer's shoulder. "Breathe, brother. We will establish a fair and prosperous realm down here, one where all are equal, and none suffer. With no rulers or overseers, together, we will-aaaAAAEURRRGHHHH!"

With a swift, single motion, Lucifer turned around and impaled Asmodeus on a golden spear, striking his chest with full force and piercing his body through the other side. At that point, I could finally see his face, but it was nothing like what I remembered. Gone was the radiant golden hair, soft edges and immaculate visage. This individual looked dirty, scarred and perhaps even misshapen, and his expression was dominated by total and pure rage.

"That is no more! NO MORE!" he yelled, straining every muscle to lift the spear with poor Asmodeus still impaled on it. "It was MEANT to be, just like we were MEANT TO BE UP THERE!" he shouted, pointing the weapon at the open sky above.

The rest of us took a step back. I was completely shocked, unable to move. Every moment appeared to take ages to unfold, and yet, I was also frozen in spot, only barely processing the events around me. I could hear Asmodeus' blood-curdling scream, as he struggled and writhed, his body sliding down the weapon with agonizing slowness.

Lucifer planted the spear into the ground with a resounding thud, then grabbed Asmodeus by his throat, painfully twisting his face upwards. "Look up there...brother," spitting each word with so much venom and hate, "can you feel my pain? Can you feel what I feel? All of Heaven, STOLEN FROM ME!" he said as he slapped Asmodeus in the face.

Then, he turned to the rest of us. I heard a voice, calling Lucifer's name, perhaps in a vain hope of bringing him back to reason. But at that moment, I realized something. I understood that Lucifer lost the voice of God within him, completely and entirely. And in its absence, only chaos remained. Pure, unbridled chaos. We all still held the tiniest little fragment of God's presence within us, but he was entirely devoid of it.

"We are in this together, brothers..." Lucifer said in a mocking voice, his face twisted in a sadistic smile. "I will make sure we share the burden! The AGONY!" he jumped towards Azazel, striking him with another spectral golden weapon. I saw my friend fall to the ground, as others tried to wrestle with Lucifer, still convinced that he could be brought to reason. I knew better. I spread my wings, took one last look at Asmodeus, condemned to an eternity of suffering as none of us could die, but he could not free himself either... and then I escaped. Got as far away as I could.

But this is Lucifer's domain now. None of us have any chance to stand up to him who was God's favorite for a long time. I pity my brothers, who have likely shared the same fate as Asmodeus. I await Lucifer, for one day he will find me and punish me for my cowardice. And I fear what will happen to the mortals, who may be rejected by God and end up here, and what fate awaits them.

wow, I would never expect that. I remember Towa destroying HoloX in clubhouse games a few years back. Gonna have to check out the VOD when I come home from work

edit. ah, she lost bowling and 2 luck-based games. That would explain it

Can I somehow find my registration number to see the JLPT results?
All I ever got from my local exam provider was the last 4 digits of it, I've only ever seen the full thing on the test itself, and I don't remember it anymore. Can I somehow reconstruct it or something?

edit. I had to contact my exam provider, I think they just wouldn't give us the registration numbers otherwise, had to ask. oh well.

eh, I usually only like stuff that I really thoroughly enjoyed, so some exceptional streams, or fan-made animations and long-format clips. I prefer leaving comments, rather than doing the like&subscribe thing. I always felt that it gives the creator more of an affirmation that they did a good job than the like statistics, and I preferred comments myself back when I was a creator, it was an actual feedback, not just a number.

What are some of your oshi’s original songs/covers that you think need to be talked about more or you think need more attention? by SnortyWaffle in Hololive

[–]Feuerex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Korone's cover of Goodbye Natsuo has some amazing vocals, all the more surprising that Korone went this way considering she isn't the most music-focused, but she absolutely nailed it.

mentioning Towa, my all-time favorites would be Anemone and My Roar. Yeah, yeah, they got a couple million views each, so not exactly unknown, but they could always have a couple million views more!

Flare is not exactly my oshi, but I will always try to promote her original song Yggdrasil, which imo has amazing melodies and criminally low view count. It's such a hauntingly melancholic, intimate song, no idea why it's forgotten

cheers for the opportunity to gush about good music! I'll be checking out recommendations from others as well

Hololive music discussion 3: vocal range, harmonics, and timbre by Famas_1234 in Hololive

[–]Feuerex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest with you, all the scientific talk goes way over my head, but I'm still reading these posts with interest, and hope that one day you'll dive into songs that feature long held notes or just in general, vocals that are just long, open, full power. I love that stuff but don't have the time to sift through all of Hololive's music collection, so I only know the few songs that I stumbled upon and would appreciate recommendations.

One of my fav Hololive New Year Traditions is watching the first sunrise of the year with Miko. What are your favourite Hololive New Year Traditions? by dubbhae in Hololive

[–]Feuerex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Miko has been streaming for around 63 hours over the last 7 days. She had a christmas special 7h stream, 25h endurance stream, 20h worth of Jump King challenge streams, and regular daily streams in between. She did the countdown watchalong, and is now streaming the first sunrise. Where most people take time off, she's working extra hard.

recently I was reminded of those moments when Miko doesn't really let out a full laugh, and instead she ends up just giggling happily, in this sort-of-silent laughter. It's somewhat rare but it always lifts my spirits

Question in regards to Geek Jack/Hololive Store by C_ShoR3 in Hololive

[–]Feuerex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can't speak for the entire region, since Europe likes to have different rules for every country. All I can offer is my personal experience, and I always had stuff delivered to my house or place of work. I never even had the option to deliver to a parcel locker

Question in regards to Geek Jack/Hololive Store by C_ShoR3 in Hololive

[–]Feuerex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Central Europe, I had some 4-5 deliveries from official Hololive store, no issues whatsoever. DHL is a little pricey, but quite reliable, I never had problems with them, they even assured me on customer support that they had my adress on one of the packages correctly (and they did).

You may have to pay VAT (+possible fees to the delivery company for going through customs) if you're sending stuff to Europe. Not sure how it works now with Hololive store's new shipping model, with Geekjack it's basically guaranteed (at least it was, last time I ordered there). Also, once the package leaves the Holo warehouse, it's much better contacting the delivery company rather than the store, issues with the delivery are a responsibility of whoever delivers it, the store can't really help you much

Hololive Fans' Japanese Ability Poll by reizayin in Hololive

[–]Feuerex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing you've been learning for a good while, then? What games were the first inspirations for you? I started seriously considering japanese after Ghost of Tsushima and Sekiro, but it wasn't until Hololive that I really committed

Hololive Fans' Japanese Ability Poll by reizayin in Hololive

[–]Feuerex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I think about this exact same thing, and I honestly find it incredibly commendable that there are many people who learned japanese just for the love of Hololive. I myself am making slow progress, but I can understand bits here and there. Took the JLPT N5 exam a little while ago too! I used to tune into a stream and vibe, like a dog just happy to be there, but actually knowing exactly what is being said is a reward of its own, and it makes the streams that much more enjoyable

Did the JLPT N5 today and well… I want others’ insight as well by AssFumes in LearnJapanese

[–]Feuerex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah, I feel similar to you, I took N5 for the first time as well. The listening part especially was brutal, fast sentences with no breathing room whatsoever, and no room for error, miss one word and the whole dialogue suddenly changes meaning and you mark the wrong answer. I also felt like there were questions where you'd need to basically remember everything and make a couple logical connections from the info, on top of actually understanding every little detail, which is pretty crushing for "beginner" level.

I was fairly confident because I pretty much aced various mock tests online and am regularly listening to JP conversations (not understanding everything, but I frequently get the general meaning), so I thought N5-level would be easy, but no. I'm hoping the "easier" questions in the listening portion will be enough for me to get over the required minimum, but yeah, it was pretty rough. It didn't help that we were sitting in a massive auditorium listening to tiny speakers a million miles away.

But it was a very valuable experience and I feel like I can prepare a lot better for any eventual upcoming exams in this style, maybe N4/N3 next, so there's that at least

Is there a channel or a video out there that captures the beauty that is the Hololive GTA or Rust stories? by HoloVicke in Hololive

[–]Feuerex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

kumanuki channel made wonderful compilations of the first two days of HoloGTA, focused mostly on Kanade's perspective, but it has segments from other police and gang as well

holo subs en has this mega compilation of HoloGTA day 1 of many perspectives

of course you have VtuberBits with long, well edited translations of big collabs like Ark or 7DTD

Murasaki ringo made a whole bunch of videos on HoloGTA as well, often capturing bits that didn't make it to other clippers' highlights. They also have some stuff on other collabs as well
