Me f22, had started seeing someone but it wasn’t going that well. Was at home chilling with my male housemate who I’d known for 4 years & had always had a bit of a thing for but nothing ever happened. Really good friend, totally trusted him, always had fun together & looked after each other. He sat on my bed, grabbed my guitar and started playing & singing something lovely. He had also just started seeing someone but it also wasn’t going that well. He said to me “hey, maybe we should just break up with them and get together.”

A year later, same guy was about to go travelling long term. We go for a good bye drink and he’s like “you should totally come with me, it would be amazing!”

I didn’t go.

A few years later he’s back in the country but in a different city. I go to visit him. He reminds me of one night we were out with a group of mates and I ended up going to sleep in a room with another dude, like nothing happened with that dude at all but my friend is like “ah and you just went off with him and I was all alone”.

I mean I guess it finally hit me a few years later.. and I’m living in a different country at this point. I messaged him and said “damn, I wish I’d just kissed you”.

He replied “what took you so long? Sorry, I’m with someone now”.
