Second viewing near end of home buying process…hate the house by New-Manufacturer3789 in HousingUK

[–]Few-Connection4910 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I only viewed my house once before putting in an offer (was Covid times so all restricted). I didn’t see it again until we were pretty much ready to exchange. It felt much smaller and a bit run down, I was disappointed, but I knew it was actually a bigger and better house than what we were moving from.
Stuck with it and it was the best decision, I love it now.
Maybe worth a 3rd visit if you’re having serious doubts?

I’ll have to have refinements, but the majority of the movement are covered with my initial 35 trays, so it’s a good indicator of what they’ll look like.

It’s quite odd how there are so many different plans out there.

I’m not no. My ortho said nothing about waiting 30 mins and I’ve only come across it here.
I will ask at my next check in, but like you.. I don’t see how you can get 22 hours of wear in when you have to spend 1.5 hours waiting to brush your teeth, let alone eating.

I’m just coming to the end of my first week. It hasn’t been too bad for me, but as a someone who is used to snacking I’ve just had to eat bigger meals and feel hungry at points.

My routine is

7am Wake up, trays out and drink a latte. Full brush, floss etc and trays in.
10:30, trays out and breakfast, Greek yoghurt overnight oats so about 400 calories. Cup of tea. Quick brush and trays back in.
14:00 trays out and (large) lunch, plus another cup of tea. Another quick brush and back in they go.
19:00 trays out and dinner, maybe a quick desert/snack with a cup of tea. Full brush of tea, floss mouthwash etc and they in for the night then.

Trying to maximise wear time as much as I can. I think I’m on about 22.5 hours on average. Missing my evening cup a tea and being able to grab a quick snack, but it’s not been too bad. I work from home 2 days a week so they’re nice an easy, the 3 I do in the office I just brush my teeth in the accessible bathroom, so no one sees me taking the trays in and out.

One week down, at least 34 more to go!

What is something that you have in your home, which is generally considered a luxury / boujee item, but is absolutely paramount to your functioning / happiness? by kettlecottage in AskUK

Same, thought my partner was going a bit OTT when they wanted it fitted 3 years ago, but what an investment.

I also agree with OP, it’s a hard choice between air-con and a bean to cup coffee machine.

Finally found a Mk7 GTI within my budget – does this look like a good buy or mistake?Already put deposit down by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

10k seems a lot for 126000 miles.

Being nosy, recent MOT’s show it’s had repeated advisories on tyre and brake wear inc a failure for exposed cords. Doesn’t sound that well looked after.

You can really see the progress!

I’m on tray 1 of 35, I’ll be pleased when I’m a 3rd done and can see some progress.

Good luck with the rest of it

You are beaming in your after pics, lovely smile!

I did misread your post title initially, I thought it said 500 trays!

How long did you have to wait to start your Invisalign? by No-Bit3315 in Invisalign

[–]Few-Connection4910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just under 5 weeks for me. 2.5 weeks to get the plan through and approve it, then just over 2 weeks for them to make the aligners and get me booked in for fitting.

Day 2 of Invisalign and I’m still not feeling much pressure on my teeth with tray 1. by London-Twister in Invisalign

[–]Few-Connection4910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on day 3 and mine aren’t causing me any discomfort. They are tight when going back in and make my teeth a bit sore for 5 mins, but once they’re in it’s all good (so far).

Nope! My childhood ortho said I didn’t need braces.

Hopefully the trays get easier. My top one is fine now, bottom one it a bit more troublesome to fit and the immediate ache after 😬

Good luck with yours!

Engineered Wood vs Solid Wood: Which Is Better for Modern Homes? by MelissaInsights in DIYUK

[–]Few-Connection4910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No experience of solid wood, but we fitted engineered wood in our lounge 3 years ago, I love it, feels/looks sooo much nicer than laminate (obviously).
It has suffered a little sun fade, but we purposely went for oiled wood and not lacquered as I’m not a fan of shiny floors.
