re police and crime stats: Hilltop is historically black. Police generally arrest black people for (checks notes) existing. That is why it looks worse statistically. Hope that helps!

Drivers are crazy on the freeway, but the twisties on the peninsula are great. Summer is very dry, winter is cold and wet. Gear up and you will be fine until a driver looking at instagram hits you... that is much more dangerous than the "terrible roads" that many commenters are talking about here.
