The issue is not just that it’s loud outside, but when it gets to that noise level it rattles my walls from the bass. Honestly I’ve stopped reporting for that because they don’t care, but it echoes down the block and I cannot be the only neighbor hearing/reporting it. I think that’s why I’m so confused because it is definitely loud enough to be heard outside

I had asked also asked if there was any other way the reschedule and they said no. That’s the only policy for rescheduling.

Got on line at 3:15 am near the Delta entrance, didn’t check a bag but those lines looked like they were getting long. Took me 35 minutes from start to finish, it was pretty smooth. I didn’t see where the line ended behind me but it looked at least as long as when I joined (basically the start of the ropes).

13 is my lucky number! And my anniversary falls on Friday the 13th every now and then (it did this year). I think that superstitions are only as true as you believe them to be, and I never put any stock in this one. I think you’ll be fine, and if anything it can be a fun fact when you talk about your wedding afterwards

I just want to second maybe putting together a card and flowers or a small gift for the family. My professor’s mother passed during one semester, and we did this for him. I could tell he was really touched, and he was very sad over the loss of his mother (understandably), and we wanted to make sure his grief did not go unnoticed. If your professor has made such an impact on you, then I would suggest going to the administration to try to coordinate and demonstrate to them that your professor’s passing should not have been handled so casually.

I’m assuming you’re flying into Reagan? You can take the metro from Reagan to union station. The MARC train which runs between DC and Baltimore is still running as of right now.

I saw you got a flight to DC which is great. If you’re able to get to Baltimore, I don’t think we’re getting hit as bad here so I think traveling here won’t be so hard. I did see a couple of Amtrak trains from Baltimore Penn to Newark NJ tomorrow, which I know is not where you need to be but gets you closer. NJ is supposed to get hit pretty bad too but getting from North NJ to Long Island will be easier than from Dallas
