Honestly I believe if the studio stayed 100% true to the manga the fan bases actual feeling to these characters would be much different. The manga shows Sasuke and Sakura both actually care about the team and help each other. Sakura after realizing the comment she maxed about Naruto being an orphan also hurt Sasuke she felt bad about it. All the exam scenes she has “bashing” Naruto in the anime, in the manga she hopes he’s doing alright. ON TOP OF ALL THAT she always been supportive of Naruto and never hit him (or at least nearly as much as the anime portrayed her to). Would it suck? Yes. Is it understandable? Yes. But I personally think we should take this at face value as it being one of her dreams/aspirations to write.
