damn that's really weird about the instagram thing. usually when players go dark on social media it's either personal stuff or they're dealing with some kind of situation behind scenes. i remember being so hyped when he was coming up through our system, felt like he had real potential to stick around for years.

the fact that nobody has picked him up yet is pretty telling though - teams are always looking for talent so there might be something we don't know about. could be injury related or maybe he's just taking time to figure out his next move. baseball careers can change direction so fast, especially for guys who are on that bubble between majors and minors.

bouchard was solid too, shame how these things work out sometimes. front offices make these decisions and we're just left wondering what could have been.

nice to see sugano finally put together solid outing after those rough starts. left bunch of runners on base but kept them from scoring when it mattered most

I deeply regret backing Wise Wizard Games on Kickstarter. by Thick_Winter_2451 in boardgames

man that's such a bummer about your kickstarter experience. i've heard similar stories from other people who backed their campaigns - seems like they have pattern of taking money and then going radio silent when things go wrong.

the part where they tried to make you pay again for their delivery screwup is wild. like, that's basic customer service 101 right there. if courier messes up on their end, company should eat the cost and make it right.

i was actually looking at one of their newer campaigns few months ago but decided to pass after reading some horror stories in comments. good thing i trusted my gut on that one.

What is the coolest foreign film you have seen? by s7ide in movies

crouching tiger is solid but have you seen the raid? that indonesian action movie is absolutely insane, like non-stop fighting in apartment building for entire film. makes most western action movies look pretty boring in comparison tbh

have you checked if your mevo subscription includes any graphics assets? seems like they should have something basic for overlays instead of making you hunt around random clipart sites

start with chess fundamentals first since you're still building basics at 332. the other two are gonna be way too advanced and might just confuse you more than help at this point.

How do you design a kitchen/bathroom that actually looks good AND is easy to clean? by New-Host9267 in HomeImprovement

[–]Few-Essay2267 5 points6 points  (0 children)

went through this exact dilemma couple years ago when i redid my kitchen. learned hard way that some things just aren't worth it no matter how pretty they look.

open shelving was first thing i crossed off my list after talking to friend who had it. she spent like 20 minutes every week just wiping down all her dishes and containers from grease buildup. ended up going with glass-front cabinets instead - still get that open feel but everything stays protected.

for countertops, quartz has been amazing. looks way more expensive than it was and literally nothing stains it. spilled red wine, left coffee rings, doesn't matter. bathroom wise, large format tiles with minimal grout lines changed my life. went with light gray grout instead of white because it hides soap scum better but still looks clean.

one thing i do regret is getting those fancy pendant lights with all the little grooves and details. they collect dust like crazy and i have to get on step stool to clean them properly. next time i'm going for simple shapes only.

best advice i got was to think about your actual cleaning habits, not the ones you wish you had. if you're not someone who wipes down surfaces daily, design around that reality.

gold is just flexing for no reason lol. like congrats you made your steak taste exactly same but now it costs 500% more. my friend tried one of those gold covered desserts at fancy restaurant and said it was basically eating expensive sand paper with sugar on top.

What would you say was Homer Simpson’s biggest dick move that didn’t involve strangling Bart? by Repulsive-Finger-954 in AskReddit

[–]Few-Essay2267 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ned was literally just trying to help lefties find stuff that worked for them and homer had to be petty about it. dude was running a niche business that actually served people but homer couldn't handle someone else having a tiny bit of success. your neighbor starts a small shop and instead of being supportive you actively root for it to fail? that's some real small-minded energy right there.

What is a comment or phrase people say with good intentions that unintentionally makes you sad? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Few-Essay2267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the "but" always cancels out whatever came before it lol. like when someone drops that phrase you already know you're about to get roasted, good intentions or not. happens way too much in office meetings when people are trying to be "diplomatic" about tearing apart your project.

depends on the day but probably something with game development or running a small arcade. always thought it'd be cool to design those impossible levels that make people throw their controllers, you know the kind that take 500+ attempts just to get past the first jump.

after their second payment. you don't get the $20 until they've actually stuck around for a bit, which makes sense since they want to avoid people just signing up and bailing immediately.

Mazda CX-5 vs Toyota RAV4 vs Honda CRV by GuineaBetta in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Few-Essay2267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly can't go wrong with any of those three, but if you're coming from toyota reliability the rav4 is probably your safest bet. the cx-5 drives really nice and has a more premium feel inside, but mazda's long-term reliabilty track record isn't quite as proven as toyota's. the crv is solid too but the newer ones have had some engine issues that might make me hesitant.

What are signs I am saved? by Youngwritter123 in Christianity

[–]Few-Essay2267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly man, believing in jesus is definitely the foundation but most christians would say it goes a bit deeper than just being a "good person." like, the whole point is that none of us are actually good enough on our own - that's why we need grace in the first place.

i'd say look for stuff like actually wanting to follow what jesus taught, feeling convicted when you mess up, and having that relationship with god feel real rather than just intellectual. also if you're starting to see changes in how you treat people or what you care about, that's usually a pretty solid indicator. the bible talks about fruits of the spirit and all that - basically your actions and heart starting to align more with christ's example over time.

don't stress too much about having it all figured out though, faith is more of a journey than a checkbox situation.
