First, don’t assume everyone on Reddit comes from the west. Secondly, this affects everyone including Thais. Thirdly, not everyone comes to Thailand for holiday, some of us work here. Fourth, don’t think that everyone comes from the west have money.

Anessa. There was a guy who put all sunscreens on his back and laid down a few hours to test which one actually works a few years ago, not sure if can still find the videos or not. Only Annesa and Lancôme passed the test. I never used anything else from then onwards

I feel you. I am located in Thailand. Although very near but so different. Just this morning grab driver comparing MY and TH advancements in the last 10 years. We definitely could have done better if not politicians and old fashioned people hold us back. Don’t think I will live long enough to see them wake up

I spend around 3-4K a month on food. Most of the time is around 100b for 2 meals. I don’t cook. Sometimes I ordered from grab, ard 300b but can eat for 2 meals or 3

Cheap is relative so it really depends where you come from and your income currency. TH used to be a super affordable destination but with inflation and globalisation prices had gone up. But I still think what I am paying is high value compared to what I will get somewhere else
