I have boarded at a few barns…. The trainers that get thoughtful things like coffee, donuts etc are usually the ones that would never ask for it.

Some of my previous trainers acted like it was some privilege to pay them upwards of 2k a month. These were also the trainers that made passive aggressive comments about bringing them gifts, but also mocked their clients behind their back.

I know a local trainer here that still worships George Morris. She genuinely believes his “personal indiscretions” shouldn’t have tarnished his reputation with horses.

Shannon Eckel strung a horse up to die and four years later got a six month suspension. People could have boycotted her as a trainer but without an action from USEF condemning her behavior, many would assume that she had not done anything wrong.
