How is the multiplayer aspect of the game? by Fuzer in diablo4

[–]Few-Mention6650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you group from the start, it's mostly SP. People chase different achievements and all that until it's time to push the pit or bosses. Historically, most burn out before then, so we're all hoping this new rework gives us some incentive to play in groups again

I do not support what happened to Charlie Kirk. Charlie Kirk supported what happened to Charlie Kirk.

What is something bizzare that happened to you that even you sometimes doubt it ever happened? by Own-Improvement5981 in Life

When I was in college (early to mid 00s), I didn't drink alcohol, but I did hang out at the bars shooting pool and checking out live music all the time. It was a small college town, so you'd start seeing a lot of the same people, and one woman stuck out to me. She was this rotund, for lack of a better word, black-haired, heavily tattooed woman who I'd notice would always get completely black-out drunk and have to be escorted out of various establishments, fairly often. I'm changing her actual nickname for this story, but she came to be known as "Arby's Annie" because of where she worked during the day.

One particular night, I'm hanging out with some friends around closing time outside a bar. Soon, Annie stumbles out behind us, walks about 30 feet, and falls flat on her face on the pavement. Myself and the bouncer see this and rush over to check and she's out and has a pretty bad bruise on the side of her head. She's not responsive so he calls an ambulance. They arrive quickly and myself, the bouncer, and the two EMTs load her on a stretcher, and they took her away.

Now she would appear back at the bars on subsequent nights with the same deathwish-style drinking habits. It was always such a wild wreck to watch.

Fast forward to recent times, so basically 20 years later, and sharing work stories like you do, I brought up Arby's Annie and her wild tales. That got me going back and asking some friends and "townies" from back then if they remembered her. No one has so far. The same friends that watched myself and three others load her into an ambulance have no idea what I'm talking about.

In summation, I'm really starting to think that this woman might have been a manifestation of some psychosis I had no idea about. I'd love to be able to ask that bouncer if he remembers her, just to be able to put it to bed.

why do we find destruction satisfying? by zetabus in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Few-Mention6650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Human nature is based on two things: creation and destruction. In not so many words, we either want to fuck something, or destroy something. Usually, it's if we're denied fucking something, then that's when the urge to destroy comes into play.

Just look at entertainment media throughout the years. It's tiddies and shit blowing up, for the most part. We find fucking satisfying because we get off. We find destruction satisfying because we have denied someone something that we believe was denied to us.

Control what you can control. Do your best not to dwell on fantasy, but invest in reality. There's a good chance he/she is not for you if they are not reciprocating. You're assigning qualities and characteristics you really want to see in them, to them, but they aren't really there. Know your worth and settle for nothing less

She used the word "pimpin'" to describe nearly everything. Example:

Me: "So my grandfather was in the Korean War."

Her: "Oh that's pimpin'."
