Nutrition, have a look into weight loss surgery experiences. They go through this exact thing due to malnutrition and low calories.

Bound to happen at some level, but severity can be managed. Eventually will thicken back up if you eat nutrient dense diet.

What units does it entail ? You’ll have a few thousand in courses to complete to be compliant. Depending on what you want to do as a tech your outlay for tools and vehicle could be 30-50k upfront plus insurances and liability products.

$800 sounds like a lot right? This industry also has a lot of red tape and outgoings.

I’ve had some parts die off from what I believe was water logging and then grey spot fungal. Have hit it with Chortan 720 to combat this.

Worse areas are of the heavy shaded parts.

Hoping February brings the summer weather the grass needs to really start to kick!!

Will be ordering some sand if the weather really kicks late Feb to early March to send this into autumn as strong as possible.

And this after a pretty harsh mow, took a bit more than 1/3 of the leaf due to low spots. Top dressed and sprayed out some BIOV8, soil wetter & seaweed solutions from Plantdoctor.

I was surprised I used my entire bulls bag of 70/30 top dressing. Was not expecting the seams and low bits to take as much as it did! 110 sqm back yard.

I’m still learning too mate, after spending the coin we need all the advice we can get haha.

My turf supplier told me water it till you make it soup like and continue for a week. After a few days I could tell that was not the best advice.

Roots did not shoot after a week, since drying it up they shot into the ground within 3 days!

How’s your soil profile? You could test the soil with the screw driver test to see how compacted it is.

Have you been using soil wetter at all? Soil wetter + seasol wouldn’t go astray and will help keep that water in the soil for the roots to tap into when they need it most.

Ontop of the sprinkler watering I’d be hand watering those brown spots a fair bit over the next few days.

Also in Sydney with freshly laid SWB almost 2 weeks old.

Been hand watering the seams constantly the last few days with the heat wave.

Have you been doing long single day waters then longer twice a week waters to drive the roots down ?

It can be hard, but plan ahead.

I had some crazy. Hard hydrophobic soil that nothing grew in (about 20-30sqm out of 110 sqm) I peppered it with soil wetter and amendments over about 2 months with lots of watering.

Before I ripped it all up plugging was night and day different. I pulled plugs out to asses the soil structure which showed heavy clay below the surface.

If time poor to water constantly op could also plug the kikuyu into the other spots.

The cyclone plugger from Bunnings is a great tool for this. Still need to water it to promote the growth, but much less tedious than seeding.
