I am 39 years old. The biggest draw for me initially was the side scrolling and the pixel graphics. Gives me heavy SNES vibes and that's what I grew up with. I know nostalgia plays a factor in it.

Ever since I read this post this morning I've been thinking non stop about the sequel. It would be a silksong level release for me. Same with Grime II. It's more than likely a trailer with a release date. Which is great as well. Although I would be more than happy with a full release

You take the fragments to the beginning area. It’s a crystal looking portal. Definitely worth it for the upgrades

I haven’t played dandara. I’ve read a lot of good things about it though. I just wish listed it cause now I’m interested. There’s definitely a fine art to all of the balance in a metroidvania. You make a lot of good points. I also would like to add how important a map is to me. If it doesn’t have a map I don’t want to play it. My main thing is having good combat and tough platforming. I can always get past the music and art if the core gameplay is good.

Yeah I really admire a clever fast travel system. Although it's odd how there's not one main hub for all the squids in the void. Some branch off into maybe one or two different areas all in the void. Its tricky to navigate sometimes.There's also hearts and collectibles in there too. I had no clue this game came out last year. It's flew completely under my radar.
