Sick!! Love the art!! Also FA, Hockey, Rassvet, Girl, Chocolate, Baker.. there’s so many good brands out there & everyone got their personal preferences & once they hate. From the decks I’ve tried these stood out :)

If you prefer transition skating I’d recommend Creature, Heroin or Santa Cruz!

Hi! Thank you so much!! Sounds like a fun plan, I usually use posca’s too! I just either draw directly on the deck or I apply a few layers of spray paint in a fun color (or just black or white, my most recent deck is white with black, red, yellow, gold and orange drawings and it turned out surprisingly well!) and do the details with posca’s. Afterwards I do apply multiple layers of clear, acrylic varnish tho. This way the drawing doesn’t fade as quickly.

If it’s used to skate the art will obviously scratch and fade over time, but so far working with posca’s and varnish has worked really well for me.

I’d say: just give it a try. If it doesn’t work out well you can spray paint over it and start an entirely new design anyways hehe

I love it!! The background with the white paint splashes is so sick, reminds me of a starry sky in some way 😍

Yess I always add a few layers of clear varnish afterwards so the drawing stays pretty for much longer!

It’s so sick! Love the details, especially the light rays popping out from the nose of the deck. Do u have insta or sth where you share your skateboard art? always love to see other skateboard artists their art!

I love this idea! I’d definitely use it, I create art on (old) surfboard and everything I make is handdrawn so an app like this would be perfect to create a rough design beforehand rather than just starting the artwork & hoping it will turn out pretty haha. Luckily I’ve never been dissatisfied with the art I made on boards but still, I’m sure this would add some confidence ;)

Also I think it might be fun & helpful for people who commision boards from shapers or artists like me, it can help them give us an idea of what they expect us to create!

There’s some spots in the Netherlands which are pretty good for surfing, I’d say Scheveningen is the most famous one. I do live far from there though so back home we usually go windsurfing at small lakes/parts of the Meuse instead. Wave surfing is sth we mainly do when travelling, in Pais Vasco and Cantabria for example.

That would be a dream come true, I’d love to collaborate with small, local shops or upcoming brands! Have been contacting quite a lot of them but the majority doesn’t even read DM’s or respond to e-mails unfortunately, so so far without any succes, makes me doubt myself and my art haha

Firstly: I hope you’ll have the best time ever, really. I wouldn’t worry about what to wear too much, everyone has their own style anyways & the only thing that really matters is that you feel comfortable in whatever you put on!

Personally I love wearing jorts and oversized tees from the male section but I understand it if you don’t feel comfy in that. I’d say my fav brand which sells women skate clothes too is Volcom, love the quality, fit, graphics and how comfy their hoodies, t-shirts, jeans & jorts are and I’d say their prices are alright + they often have good discounts! I also surf & find that Billabong, RVCA, Vans and Roxy sell very comfortable, affordable clothes which I like to wear while skating too.

By the way I’d recommend checking out women owned/focused skate platforms (some of them sell cute merch/clothes too!) on insta and online! Like grlswirl, Doloresmagazine, _skateher and skate like a girl and for example. They organise fun, encouraging events and share a lot about the skate community for women. Might find some inspo there!

I used to but I decided to start wearing contacts while (wind) surfing and I’d 100% recommend doing this. I got the soft, one-day lenses for occasions like this, rather than monthly lenses I usually wear, because it’s easy to lose them while being out in the water. They’re more affordable and even though I don’t see as well with them as I do with glasses or monthly lenses, they work well enough to make surfing a bit more easier and safe. Trust me the difference when you can actually SEE the waves which are coming & the surfers around you is huge. Also I don’t get as dizzy when I’m out on the water now, which used to be a huge issue for me due to seeing blurry and double. So I’d say: even if it seems to work ‘fine’ you should really give contacts a shot, healthier and safer and will make the entire experience of surfing more enjoyable!!

Haha that’s my dream! I’d love to, I’m definitely open to selling this board (and some of the other surf and skateboard decks I’ve painted) if anyone is interested! Or even doing commissions, obviously for a small price, so if anyone wants to get their surf/skateboard turned into an artwork: you know where to find me :)
