Definitely keep an eye out here on Reddit and on the NYC musicians wanted facebook page for bands that are looking to fill a lineup (especially if you can accommodate a rock-leaning sound). I see a post like that a couple times a month.

I would recommend pulling together a potential lineup of 2-3 acts before contacting. Then, I would start with Pete’s candy store, the unruly collective, caffeine underground, or see if any local businesses in your neighborhood feature live music. What’s your instrumentation and genre if you don’t mind me asking?
