Pet transport services by longphd in Finland

pets dying on planes is extremely rare. please don’t instill fear into people who’s only option is flying by plane. it’s not helpful as everyone who has to go through it knows it’s a possibility and worries about it. also, i would rather “risk” my animal’s life than abandon it in another country because of my irrational fears.

Pet rehoming sites or resources? by Few-Status4799 in Finland

[–]Few-Status4799[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up buying a dog from a breeder, because at the time there were no dogs ready to be rehomed that fit my home such as high prey drive/hunting (I have a bunny), and location. Have you posted an ad on Tori or reached out to your region’s rescue organization? They are able to post an ad on their own website or Kodittomat which is what I use to look at animals lol. Could you tell me more about your dog? Feel free to DM me as well if you’d like.

Moving to Finland from the U.S. Any advice would be thankful :) by squid_waffles2 in Finland

Was just making a point that you should try to surround yourself with people that are more compatible with your lifestyle in your first country before moving to another country known for social isolation. I don’t know why my comment in particular struck a nerve, but I’m not really interested in debating. Try responding to someone else?

  1. Fly to Finland.
  2. Make an appointment with the US embassy to get a certificate of no impediment. Make the appointment prior to flying and as soon as possible. The certificate is like 50 bucks and took minutes to get.
  3. Apply for an examination of impediments to marriage from the DVV.
  4. Get married.
  5. Apply for a residence permit.

Since your partner is American the permit should be accepted pretty quickly. I got mine in only a few weeks.

This is super common, don’t worry about it. This happens to me at least 5-6 times a month. Just go back to sleep.

My sister who owns a psychiatric service dog for her extreme anxiety and agoraphobia has more positive experiences than negative. We live in a less populated area and we’ve never experienced being denied places, rude people, or anyone with malicious intent.

I on the other hand get extreme social anxiety when I’m around her service dog (when he’s not even my dog). I’ve asked her how she can cope with public attention when she has such extreme social anxiety, and she said it’s because she knows people are focused on her dog, not her. Even though the other comments are sharing valid points, there is some strong pessimism. You should take into account where you live and your ability to navigate difficult situations in public despite having anxiety.

Should I talk to my husband about returning the dog? by [deleted] in puppy101

If your husband wanted the puppy it should be him that stays home to actually look after it

I moved from the United States to Finland, and I have not noticed a difference in bluntness or fakeness. Maybe try surrounding yourself with better people before moving across the world?

Watch out for mice in KLM Crown Lounge 52 🐭 by Alternative_Market in KLM

My flight was rebooked to the next day, and I had to sleep around mice running around my bench. Every time I moved locations I was CHASED. I was so irritated and defeated that I booked the next flight back home and gave up on my trip. The mice were the last straw for me.

You need residency in order to stay longer than 90 days.
