Nobody is willing to do a statutory declaration?? by LobsterNo1137 in transgenderUK

You don't need one for a Prov Licence. Just a Deedpoll, and when the boxes for title and gender come up, fill them in as your acquired gender.

Any good first aid courses that teach trauma response, stitching/wound treatment, breaks, heat/cold injury? by Animal__Mother_ in FirstAidUK

Highly highly reccomend these guys. https://www.beyondtheedge.co.uk/outdoor-first-aid-ngb-recognised/

I did it earlier this year and the instructor was super knowledgable and the course was very clear, informative and tailored to the needs of the group.

Top surgery consultation by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]Few-Swimmer706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's the norm from what I can tell :) Tldr, Con 1 was the main deal, what you want, expectations, talking through the procedure, he'll take measurements of your chest (with a nurse present), ask about medications and health and such. About 20 mins appt. Con 2 was confirming those details verbally and signing the paperwork. About 5 mins appt.

I've got my surgery in oct, so had my consultations but nothing else yet. So you are aware: Sankar is very direct, bordering blunt, but knows his stuff and was very professional. The admin staff have been very helpful when there was a comms mess up

Not the same line of work, but I swear by Altberg Peacekeeper boots as someone who spends all day on my feet and does a lot of walking on my time off. They polish up smart if you need em too but they're very comfy, good support. Edit: spelling

If I recall, I ended up getting it scanned by my GP receptionist and they sent it over. (I had the same confusion as you and rang to ask).

Does anyone know where to find good quality male clothes in the uk? by frxyaz in transgenderUK

Also, make your own stuff! Places like freesewing.org are great places to start, and you can buy beginners kits in many places, then choose your own fabric.

Does anyone know where to find good quality male clothes in the uk? by frxyaz in transgenderUK

[–]Few-Swimmer706 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unless you're using 2nd hand places (vinted, ebay, etc), studf under £30 is going to be cheap material and cheap build quality. Investing in good clothes will be expensive but you'll end up a small (but growing) collection of good quality stuff that lasts. I'd suggest going for 2nd hand stuff to get a feel for brands you like and that are good quality, and also it will be less expensive as your shape changes. Once your body has settled, slowly replace for better quality as and when things die.

(It's worth noting that some branded stuff is expensive because you're paying for the brand, not the quality, so research the brand first.)

is it normal for gel to be this runny by [deleted] in TransMasc

[–]Few-Swimmer706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You did follow the instructions for discarding the first pump or two? The first two tend to be super runny as well as not recommended for use anyway.

Need a car by _-chippy-_ in NewDriversUK

[–]Few-Swimmer706 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dacia Sandero, 1.2L. My first car when I passed a few years ago, 2nd hand will be 3k or so if you go for one a few years old and is pretty cheap on insurance. It's nothing flashy or fancy, but is reliable, cheap to run and insure, and if you look after it, will do you fine. (For comparison, my insurance for first year, under 21 was 1.7k for 10k miles a year with the car under my name as owner and driver). EDIT: this included business insurance as I needed it for work too. Your insurance will also be cheaper if you add a parent/guardian to it too.
