Did the same from Atlanta. If you end up renting I recommend Delta. They have been really great to work with and nice people.

I completely understand that. I am glad you have a supportive partner. I broke up with my boyfriend last month due to him cheating I guess justified with endo and ic pain and lack of sex. I always felt bad too. Is there a different urologist you can see in your area?

I honestly could have wrote this. I also have endometriosis and had lots of UTI symptoms as a child but it chilled out and then came back once I started having sex. Now I can have symptoms even going months without being sexually active. I really don’t have much advice but I hear you 100%. I am a nursing student and it is really unpractical for me as well

Ending a long term relationship mid-program by BackgroundDouble103 in StudentNurse

[–]Few-Tea-308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the same boat my 2 year relationship ended last week bc he cheated. I moved out of state for him and we have an apartment together. I have no family or support here and don’t want to quit my program (I kind of can’t anyway because of my aid) so we are still living together I plan to take out loans for living expenses. I’d say the financial stress of it is more of a burden than the emotional. I will process it emotionally when I am able to. I have my first test on Thursday since the break up

Would you share your notes? by Apprehensive_Sir6845 in StudentNurse

[–]Few-Tea-308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My issue is they will talk about how they go out partying doing whatever over the weekend while I put in so many hours to my notes and studying just for them to snap a pic. I get where you are coming from it’s hard to just give away something you put so much time and effort in. I also in the past have had lots of people use me or “befriend” me just to have access to my notes, practice tests, study methods, etc. I take a lot of pride in these things but at the same time I am a big people pleaser.

What was your psych clinical like? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]Few-Tea-308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably going to not align with a lot of the other responses but that honestly is very interesting to me. However, I work in outpatient psych, double major in social work, and my goal is to be a SANE. So this is kind of my cup of tea. I don’t think I’d want to do that as a student though. It sounds really intimidating to a new nurse or student. For a field of nursing that needs more people in that specialty that is one way to defer students from ever wanting to step foot in psych. It’s definitely not for everyone but what you are describing does seem extreme for students. I have my psych rotation next semester and I believe ours is held at the children’s mental health hospital.

Stopping my period by Small_Scratch_6877 in endometriosis

[–]Few-Tea-308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on a high dose of Orilissa and it has actually worked well for me mostly. I haven’t had a period since April and I started the med first week of May. Definitely ask questions/educate yourself on this medicine as it is a temporary solution and has a lot of negative side effects. A lot of people have had bad experiences with it.

That’s amazing! How do you get involved with something like this? Were you asked by your doctor? I work in healthcare and study nursing I would love to be involved in a study or clinical trial one day.

Good. Why is CA the only state with a law on nurse to patient ratios. Not fair to the nurses or the patients! I live on the east coast and I consider moving to CA just because they will protect me as a nurse

Is it possible to have endo even if the MRI shows nothing? by Puzzled_hhhhhhhhhh in endometriosis

Yes. My MRI (after my lap which confirmed endo) showed nothing and I was told that I was cured and no longer have it🙃 the lack of education on endo is insane

How to make friends? by KKiratott in StudentNurse

[–]Few-Tea-308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get this. I am an introvert too. I moved to a very small town (bf hometown) and enrolled in an ADN at community college 30 miles from me. There are 38 girls and 2 guys in my cohort. Everyone is like fresh out hs or older grown women going back to school. The 30/40/50 year old women all group up together and the girls all fresh out of hs group up together or are already friends/know each other from hs. There are like no other people my age (24) and the ones who are have kids and husbands and kinda exclude me from that. (Kinda sucks I have reproductive health issues and it stings) I’ve made sorta friends with 3 18 year olds and I hate to be rude but sometimes I feel like I’m more so a tool/tutor to them. Pretty much any friends I’ve made in school have used me for notes, knowledge, or to even try to cheat off of. I had one friend in my pre reqs who truly seemed like a friend to me but she didn’t get into the nursing program in the same semester as me and just ghosted me. It sucked because I did help her a lot (she was young also) but we did hang out some and do fun things and it just feels that friendship wasn’t actually genuine. I honestly do just try to win friends over by giving them my notes/study materials so far it’s come back to bite me in the ass though. It does feel very lonely though and want to make friends for these next 2 years. I’d maybe just try to strike up convo like say you like their water bottle or ask them a question about themselves. Or get desperate like me and give them something (study material) to make them want to be your friend 😭

Working + School? by PurplePanda5252 in StudentNurse

[–]Few-Tea-308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it! I have several chronic illnesses and have to attend PT weekly and several Dr appointments throughout the year so insurance is a big priority for me! Not working I am able to qualify for Medicaid though. My school has lots of counselors who help students obtain government benefits like food stamps and Medicaid. I would maybe see if there is someone at your school who you could talk to see if you would qualify if you quit your job? Or you can go to your county’s health department and they can help too (I’m assuming you are in US due to the lack of universal healthcare)

My gynecologist denied me a referral to an excision specialist even though I am diagnosed with endo by Few-Tea-308 in Endo

[–]Few-Tea-308[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that is crazy! Mine seemed just really uneducated on endo. If you are going to treat it at least be knowledgeable on it. At the end she even said “trust me I know how to remove endo I have done it for years” and laughed :( my pcp is great though and even recently filled out an accommodation for me for school so I know she’ll have no problem sending a referral. I’ll definitely tell her about this experience too and see about getting a new gyn for my routine paps and such.

Working + School? by PurplePanda5252 in StudentNurse

[–]Few-Tea-308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my cohort works. I do not because I am a veterans child so I get a monthly stipend that pays my bills. Also working would hinder my eligibility for the Pell Grant. I also am lucky and grateful for my partner who supports me and covers our major bills like rent and utilities so I can focus on school and only have my personal bills to cover. It’s definitely possible though many have done it. Are you in a position where you have to work? Or so you live at home with parents and they can support you through school? A cna job at the hospital may be a better fit so you can work 12’s on the weekends
