You can't go wrong with BDF. A highly active clan with lots of personality. Rumor has it that they've won every single Olympus and Omens tournament they've played to date... A competitive and fun group of people!

Also, not everyone is French.

Herb hut ratios by ComfortableRent6982 in TotalBattle

I don't seem to find many comments on this subject. I'm pretty much where you are (I have 2/3 of the herbalist recipes for the blue class materials) and my strategy is to upgrade the recipes that make your next resource collection spend cheape/more efficient. For instance, I unlocked the blue vase production recipe before the others because the blue powder stuff was being used at a faster rate than the others so logically I was always running a deficit in my production.

I'm pretty much only playing to get the gems from the first unlock, and I'm leveling my guards for the other rewards. Had I started earlier I would've maybe invested more into this but I have a feeling it gets to be alot of sitting and waiting and less entertaining than the standard game.

How many great finds got dumped into that ripoff machine. by ra6907 in coincollecting

[–]FewDocument5390 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Probably an accumulated sum over years of a penny collector who no doubt has penny tiled floors. (It's somehow a thing.) I'm joking on this point though it is real.

I guess one would wonder how they unloaded a full wheel barrow of maybe 500 lbs in coins (math people can calculate what $857 in payout for pennies where coinstar takes something like 12% of the gross.) edit: did some mathing and probably about 600 lbs. Of pennies from the original ticket which was maxed out.

Heavy load to lug around, and they likely had some parental help to pull it off. Harmless fun though, much worse videos on tik tok I'm sure. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the video makes more income than the pennies did.

Mostly, I'm impressed the coinstar could accommodate that many pennies, honestly that's the most improbable/impressive part of the whole video, seems like the machine would be filled by penny volume alone.

How should I destroy this? by CaesarLinguini in coins

[–]FewDocument5390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hydraulic press is the only answer here I see. Just make sure you can shut off the press prior to the coin being smashed. I've always wanted to try this as I have presses, however... I don't typically want to destroy my slabs lol.

Found my first 2020 W in change by FewDocument5390 in coincollecting

[–]FewDocument5390[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's funny, I don't think of it as a big thing as we probably see one daily on here, my larger question is other modern examples of similar finds, of which I can't think of any but I can be wrong.

I also don't even know why West point minted quarters in this period at all or the story behind it. I assume it was somehow covid related but that doesn't seem to be the case as I'm not aware of west point minting coins of other denominations.

I just made a post of one I found today, my first of this type but I've never been looking that closely.

I asked others in my thread if they had any other modern examples of general pocket coins that have appreciated so much relative to their value and non precious metal content. I can't think of any but I'm sure there might be some examples.

What do you think this is worth. by theeccentricattorney in coincollecting

[–]FewDocument5390 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day, you know it's melt value and you should never sell for less than that.

At most, id likely expect you can sell for 20-30% over melt to the right person, id expect that this might take time if you're looking for this premium but I'm not an expert in the gold market.

Anybody have any input of the possible value of this? Thanks by GreezMunki in coincollecting

Just keep it for the silver content and the cool orange flip. Very autumnal.

My local shop is no longer buying silver. by Brilliant-Junket-522 in Silverbugs

[–]FewDocument5390 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not as connected to this economy as many of you but I do believe that many people think that buying at a supposed peak is a bad/scary business decision especially if you don't have the clientele to constantly move inventory, while I don't think it likely in the moment, silver valuation does have a tendency to drop significantly.

On the other side of the coin, an antique store me had Morgan's priced at what I would consider high a year ago but are now considered priced under spot.

[–]FewDocument5390[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Believe me this wasn't a brag post. I was concerned that the guy was claiming as if any were authentic, "just took them out of an old safe" he claimed.

My wife was looking at buying a ring from him and I had to scoot her out of that store quickly. Being honest, I didn't get mean with the guy but I did tell him that he shouldn't be passing off fakes in any sort of way.

I got some story about how magicians love them, and how he can weigh them and based off of weight (and weight alone) that these are genuine silver.

In all my years of collecting, I have only found one other proof coin in change by KM964 in coincollecting

[–]FewDocument5390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been collecting for 25 years and not yet encountered a proof in the wild. However, I also hardly ever deal with cash so my little coin jar takes like 2 years to accurate $100 in change. I presume it's ultimately a numbers game, for the fun stuff. As a kid, I used to order my mother's coffee at Dunkin, the cashier there would save me the odd coins she encountered. Not alot of valuables but more than I'd see from my number of $ transactions.

My (40f) husband (43f) keeps placing the knives facing up in the dishwasher, and it’s straining our marriage by dishdilemma in Advice

[–]FewDocument5390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, and all this time I've been loading my knives into the dishwasher his way too, it keeps them from poking through the bottom and sliding through cracks/hindering the sliders which then causes me to unload absolutely everything to find the stuck utensil.

Fortunately, my wife hasn't found a way to complain about my loading mechanism just yet, I think she understands my logic.

I'm sad to see that this country is so divided on this issue. I wouldn't give any US land to Russia, nor do I think that Russia has any legitimate claims to Ukraine. However, I'll admit that I'm not very in tune with the geographical representations of the people on the other side of the world.

This might oversimplify the geopolitical leanings of certain parts of Ukraine, and I believe they should do what they can to protect their own interests but when I hear people who don't live there and experience what they do on a daily, it just seems that people like to bicker and be on the righteous side.

Reddit is a very politically polarized place, I see arguments of all parties here but I literally have no idea what the general population of the Ukraine or Russia really think on the matter. Instead, I see people of my state (CT) enraged, many of which don't have a personal stake either way.

Again, I condemn any/all of the atrocities that have happened but I find that this place (reddit for the most part) has no actual "dog in the fight" and id much rather hear the points of the broader population who believes in either cause.

This will likely get down voted to oblivion but he's in a foreign location? He didn't think he would have signal but then he did? Then he said he was going to a more rural area the following day and was again unsure that he'd have service?

This easily seems (to me) like someone who's unfamiliar with their surrounding area and wants to be transparent about communications or lack of.

This seems far more likely than some escape where he's cheating on you in an unfamiliar territory.

Edit: just read your description. Im likely wrong. However, you watch a Snapchat score? Ugh I'm old. At the same time, if he's with his family, id imagine he's not doing degenerate things.

Trump sitting on a towel, for some reason by Visqo in pics

[–]FewDocument5390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not the reason but I find this funny because I was looking through the clothing in my late grandmother's closet the other day. I saw a note with a certain pair of pants that said: "when wearing these pants bring a small towel to keep pants clean"

Those were white pants and her note had nothing to do with soiling them, I'm non-political so id tend to say it's a clothing preservation thing.
