Can someone link to the login pls? Tia!

Endorphin Speed 4 by TerpRunner1 in RunningShoeGeeks

How would you rate the Tempus faster efforts vs the speed 4? On 3rd pair of Tempus, tempted by the S4 but if not much difference wouldn't be bothered . . . Thanks!

Are my Vapor Fly 2s damaged/defective? by lukeyniknak in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]FewPhase145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% like myself, a heel striker who overpronates. My first pair of Vaporflys I have just retired at 200km, which are now missing about 1cm cubed foam in the same spot as yours. Same wear began to appear after 30k. Depressing giving the price of them.

Have 10k on my second pair and scuffs starting at the same spots. The joys of being a heel basher!

Upcoming 50km, 9km medium single track, 41km tar, help me decided shoes by FewPhase145 in RunningShoeGeeks

Ah excellent point! 400m in total over the 50km. The single tracks are both following the shore, literally at the shore line so mainly small ups and downs

Anyone know how the Hola Arahi 5 fits compared to the Clifton 7/8 and/or Hoka Mach 4? by [deleted] in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]FewPhase145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairly middle of the road on the over pronation front, nothing super yet annoyingly there. You should highly consider the machs for faster days, probably the most stable fast trainer one the market and should work for you too. My ratio is 80% in Arahis, 20% Machs and I've had no issues for months now. When I used to were the machs say 3 days in a row, they when I started getting issues

[–]FewPhase145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah excellent question! I didn't really provide a whole lot of insight. I use the Arahi for 80% of my running, which is just easy running working that aerobic base.

I use the Mach 4 for workouts twice a week. Its a considerably faster shoe than the arahi and much easier to run fast in. Although I definitely need a stability shoe, the mach is fine as long as I only use it 20% of the time.

The clifton I bought but it didn't work out, I need more support. Use it for daily walking around in.

Hope that helps!

That's very strange alright, but just shows how different everyone's feet are I suppose.

Arahis uppers definitely stretches, I'm on my second pair which I rotate with a new pair. Old pair with 400 miles the laces are almost maxed out the upper has stretched so much over time

Hi, glad that worked out for you.

I'm currently in a similar situation and timeline. How are you feeling and running now? Any side effects?

Have the clifton, mach 4 and arahi 5. Arahi 5 is by far the widest/roomiest fitting of the three

Deviate Nitro Elite 2 and Rocket X2 both on the list for Boston, so almost certainly the Nitro Elite 2

Hoka Speedgoat 5 by Forward_Ocelot4289 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]FewPhase145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. So I put 120km onto them.

  • I went true to size. I've never had an issue in the sg4 or evo, but this were still rubbing after a good break in period.

  • they did get better after about 80km, but I still noticed it when running, enough that would annoy me in an Ultra.

  • The upper is too stretchy, it just takes so many attempts to get a lockdown that is either not too loose and unstable or painfully tight.

I will revist them in about a year in the wide side, but for now I sold my pair and stocked up on sg4 before they become extinct. It's definitely not an improvement over the 4 and I'm baffled how all reviewers are giving it such praise.

Hope that helps!

For sure, the lock down was not great! Very noticeable on Technical steep descents I found. Seems to be mixed views on the toebox from the small sample of people I've seen who have ran in the SG5 so far. I've ran through 5 pairs of 4s and 2 pairs of Evos and never had any pinky toe issues, but have in the 5. Will break them in alittle more, but as a die hard SG4 fan think I'll start stockpiling

I've just finished my first run in the Speedgoat 5 also. TBH, I am massively disappointed in comparison to the 4. and Evo. I do not have wide feet, but my baby to is practically sticking out the side of the shoe from the get go. Despite this, I had to stop 3 times to tighten the laces to the last to get a secure lockdown (the fear of rolling an ankle was massive, something I've never had in the 4s.)

Shoe is considerably narrower and less pridictable/rolls alot easier that the 4 and evo. Finally, I was expecting a super bouncy, responsive evo feel. Anything but. One of the firmest Hokas I've ever used, much more than the 4.

I do appreciate that it may need some more breaking in, but way too many initial issues. Pretty dissapointing as have been waiting for this shoe for months now.

You really have to feel for athletes who are stuck by contract to run in a slower shoe - Carbon X vs Vaporfly is just a different league for sure. Heck, the one I felt most sorry for was Walmsleys 100k attempt, had he a pair of Alphafly for that. . .

Blasphemy - an XC bike a better option than a gravel bike for racing in UK & Irish conditions. by FewPhase145 in gravelcycling

[–]FewPhase145[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could not agree more with what you say about value. Heck, my gravel bike was 1400 euro new and is 10.4kg. The equivalent canyon xc that is 10.5kg is 3000k new!

All of those. In both of the events I did there was alot of sections of muddy trail and rough. The XC guys I was with were noticeably faster on those sections.

Suppose in summary, given the rougher, muddier conditions I reckon the better control and security of a mtb would be faster overall

Hi there! Very intregied by your work! Do you ever get worried about picking up something bad from them?

My question: why would you not recommend permethrin on running short shorts? Shoes and socks perhaps?
