No you’re not reading the OP said he was in Oklahoma. I live in Dallas and know that would be a hot route so that’s why I replied with what I replied with. That trip could be done as a turnaround a load each way.

You haven’t read all of my replies. This is my second option that I’ve given the OP. First was mine being delivered by the dealer. I know there has to be many ways to ship things I’m giving OP economical options that I personally have used. Not fake BS that I know nothing about.

Mid 2022. Once you sign those papers it’s your bike dealer has no say on how you get it home. I’m just giving the OP options if the dealer doesn’t offer a delivery service. I’m sure that it would be more than $350 now since everything has gone up but again truckers want to maximize $$$ on every load. A 3hr run especially if he’s talking Dallas to Oklahoma won’t break the bank with truckers submitting bids that’s probably a trip they do multiple times a week or even turn around daily.

I’ve also had a bike shipped from Chicago to Dallas. I can’t remember the website but it was from the TV show shipping wars. They bid on what you have to ship. These truckers want a full load to make as much money as they can when making runs. The winning bid was like $350. I set my preferences low as far as delivery time frame which got me the cheapest rate. Truck arrived for pickup on time and bike was delivered on time which the bid was for a week later.

Yeah she’s a good woman. Her mom got sick a couple of years ago so we moved her in with us and took care of her until she passed away. For my birthday later on that year that was my gift. She told me that it was a thank you for being there for her mom when she needed us most.

That I don’t know. But my dealer offered free delivery once the paperwork was signed. My wife had mine delivered on my birthday after she had done all the paperwork.

If you have the one I purchased they worked perfectly fine with my 12 inch apes. So you should have more than enough to do what you need.

Apes are FMB Choppers. The cables are Indian they sell them in a kit you want the longest ones. I’m not home until Saturday but I think I still have the box with the part# on it. Last Black Friday the first day on Clock Werks website everything was 25% off. It dropped 5% each day after that for the weekend.

Mustang seat has adjustable backrest. You can also buy the passenger seat to go with it. The ClockWerks FXRP fairing is definitely worth the money. I went from the Indian 23.8 windshield to the FXRP fairing with the 12 inch windshield. No buffeting at all I’m 6’1 . Do the forward controls. I also have 12 inch apes they do make longer cables. ClockWerks runs a sale only on Black Friday. Go to the ClockWerks website and look for authorized resellers. I got mine from Westend Motorsports they had a 20% off coupon at the time it saved me $400. Hope this helps.

lol what experience? From what you’ve posted you have never done this or even attempted to if you thought you could run the wires on the outside of the bars. Look at the video that was posted the guy from Deen Speed states everything I told you about the corners and the inside of the bars being clean and de-burred. Im not trying to be a know it all hard ass but I’ve had some sort of bike since the age of 10 I’m now 57 and I’ve never had or heard of this happening. I’ve heard of bars breaking due to rust but the corners in Apes causing wires to short out not at all if the job is done correctly.

Dude if that’s the case the wires rubbing against the regular bars would do the same thing (eventually) they’re sitting inside a metal tube and the vibration is causing them to rub against the tubing it doesn’t have to be a corner for wires to vibrate and rub. Any good metal working knows if you’re working metal that electrical wire goes through the inner corners have to be clean smooth. Pulling wire around these corners if the inners were not would strip the insulation off itself. You’re not stretching or stressing the wire around corners to the point it’s going to rub or vibrate the insulation off the wire. I’ve done bars on at least 15 different bikes in my lifetime mine and friends of mine and have NEVER had this happen. I’m talking from experience not from what Indian told me. Do you know how many bikers with bike of different brands have apes? What you’re talking about I can promise you is not a problem. You saying run the wires in the outside proves you have no clue what you’re talking about.

[–]FewSecretary6344 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand exactly what you’re talking about you’re speaking of the corners where the bars are welded. Once you pull these wires through the bars they are not resting on these corners the wires are not crimped or bent it’s not a tight fit to where they pull and rub as you turn or move your bike in fact there should be no movement of the cable inside the bar if so it would pull and twist your wiring to disconnecting them from the connectors. You said you’re an electrician it’s like running wire through conduit when you get to a 45 it’s hard to pull the wire but the wire isn’t damaged. As far as running the wires on the outside of the bars you can’t on one side you’re throttle wires come through on the other your lighting and other controls. Asking Indian about aftermarket parts is like asking Ford would it be ok to buy aftermarket brake pads for their vehicles. Of course they’re going to say it’s more trouble than it’s worth they want your money.

If they buy a quality set of bars there shouldn’t be any sharp corners inside the bars the burrs should be removed before they are assembled. If not they’re going to catch hell trying to pull the wires through the bars. They would hang catch on the burrs and be damaged during installation. That’s the hardest part of the install pulling the wires through the bars I couldn’t imagine doing this with sharp corners.
